Why isn’t Kudo more widespread. It’s an all round martial art that’s far more beneficial than some of the more well known ones.

Hi there, thank for your video, we have kudo training in France our city is called Rennes if you want to see us ;) just a question cause here in France we have few difficulties to find proper helmet, gloves or even GI, I mean a good quality GI. Ours are made in pakistani if you would like to share the name or the website from the factory where you get your furnitures, we will be thankfull. OSU !

Are their regular Kudo competitions in Wales? I would love to get into Kudo but too much into my BJJ at the moment.

I do this no Kudo training just Wrestling, BJJ, and Judo but I watch some Muay Thai and karate I have shown up to those classes too but doing all these class requires time and money which I sadly don’t have so I only done it for a month and stuck with BJJ and Judo since that’s easier but I have done this without ever seeing it idk just came out.

How are striking techniques (punching, kicking, elbows) called in Kudo? Are they also called "atemi waza" like in jujutsu and aikido? You have nagewaza and newaza, so I was curious what to call the striking aspects in Japanese.

Great interview, you guys covered a lot of ground. One of Kudos' predecessors was Nippon Kempo 1932, they wore a Karate/ Judo Gi, used head gear with a face cage striking, grappling, throwing and ground submissions. Matt Thornton of early SBG. BJJ/NHB/MMA fame, speaks in great length about the (i) method, introduce techniques, isolate the technique into a two person drill, and integrate the technique into live sparring, I often teach a fourth (i) which is imagine or visualize. Kata is after all visualizing as well as practicing form. Similarly, shadow boxing can also be practicing what happens when you miss. Train hard, train safe!

In my opinion, they are different sides of the same medal. Since they hard to find just go with the gym closer to u. If u have both just choose what u like more. I think kudo is a lil bit better on striking and combat sambo a lil bit better on the ground.

It seems really difficult to find this headgear.

On one hand it's a safer mma. But i think the safest is sambo. The helmet gives a very unrealistic safety feeling, leading to reckless exchanges. Which r unrealistic since when u have the threat of being punched on your face u ain't gonna do that. But sambo, still got points, open tatami, no unrealistic wild exchanges. I love both though almost equally

Kudo is amazing, I hope to practice it in the future, just one question, although the helmet protects against more serious damage, it doesn't prevent the opponent from being knocked out, right?

Kudo should be Kyokushin + GJJ/ Kosen Judo, looks about right to me!

Kajukenbo has been doing karate and judo since 1947

I'm a karate practitioner and been considering Kudo. That yellow belt girl sold me on it!
