    Correction - SS Nova 7x is simultaneous BT. Yet another win for SS

    • @Amp_Edition

      very true, but man that mic sounds so bad....are the clouds the loudest out of these? iv tried the black sharks and hs 80, nova 7x....nova was the loudest of those 3 and thought the other 2 were both very lack luster, i like my headset loud! Thanks in advance :) BTW i noticed that also with the new hs 80 max, i believe they cheeped out on the mic, the original was better and i know this from experience because my buddy loves that headset and he had just gotten the max and i asked him right away if he had changed headsets. All these companies are greedy!

      The SS loses out due to having to use their gg engine. It’s buggy and SS should either provide an app or Xbox support to update firmware and adjust eq. I bought 7x and returned them as I couldn’t get the critical firmware update to complete.

    I have to say, while I love watching your videos (and others) for headsets, im trying to purchase a new wireless headset for Xbox and i have never been more confused on what to buy. The more videos and reviews I see, the more confused i get. I have absolutely no idea what to buy at this point. A week ago i had it narrowed down to 3 headsets. Now, I'm looking at like 15 different options and have never had more choice paralysis in my life

      You took the words right out of my mouth, my wired headset is pretty much the wireless hyper x cloud 3 so Idk if I should get the wireless hyper x cloud 3 to match the wired ones I have or go with something completely different 😂🥴

    • @MMerwey
      @MMerwey Год назад +2

      Same here. But my options narrowed down to either Steelseries, Razer or HyperX. I'm considering v2 pro 2023 but I dislike the fact that up to now there's no ear pads replacement even w/ 3rd parties I guess they are still figuring out how to. What I consider first is if the sound is good as reviewed (I like punchy bass but w/ clean sounds that will give me chills), then if the build is durable, next is I weigh the functions - do I really need mobile connection via bluetooth? Does it sound good when in Wireless mode (which is why I considered buying wireless)? Can I use it cross platforms PC/PS/Xbox/N.Switch? Do I really need the headset to be usable simultaneously with my PC/console + mobile?
      But I'm never going back to corsair headsets for their updating/firmware problem as I previously owned Corsair Virtuoso Wireless SE High-Fidelity - when they updated their iCUE app and firmware, it killed my wireless connection to the dongle became pretty useless. Sad thing is that Corsair updated their Warranty support (previously even if you bought your corsair outside their website, they can still help you with the parts if the issue is due to their software/firmware updates) so now I'm stuck w/ the store's warranty sadly store warranty is already finished so farewell $185 :( besides their sound quality for me is pretty flat even if I played with it's EQ.

    I just got the steelseries nova 7 and I don't find them to be very comfortable. I am constantly wanting to take them off. Do the wicked cushions really make that big of a difference? Seems rediculous to have to spend another $30-50 on earpads for an already expensive headset. They hurt my ears and the clamping force is too light they fall off my head if I move. Also they get really hot. I do like the features and options that the nova 7 have. I loved my hyper x cloud II. They were always very comfortable, could barely tell they were on and I didn't feel they got hot.

The Cloud III Wireless is 60 bucks cheaper in my region and has double the battery life (120) hrs vs the HS80 Max ~60 hrs, but the HyperX ones don't have swivel and are lacking features compared to the HS80 Max.

    I had the Cloud 3 wireless and unfortunately I can't recommend it for competitive games. The highs are way too loud even after EQ, when there is a lot going on in CS2, you can no longer hear the footsteps at all and generally determine the direction. I was only able to locate the steps well when there was nothing going on on the battlefield, but not at long distances. It's also comfortable but it keeps slipping off my head no matter how I adjust it. that's why it went back.

    I just picked up the arctis nova 7p's from my local target yesterday because my turtle beach stealth pros were just way too heavy for longer gaming sessions being at over 400 grams and i've had that since almost day one. Now in terms of comfort the nova 7p's are good with the sports fabric earcups but the stealth pros and even my 700 gen 2's with the cooling gel are hands down (stinkin cozy!!) and very hard to beat in my opinion. Their signature headstrap feels nice and with how lightweight it is you barely feel it sitting on your head which is why I switched over. The nova 7p 40mm drivers sounds great out of the box and I personally really like their shallow earcups because you can FEEL the sound and I consider that to add to the immersiveness of video games. The microphone quality is definitely better from the older arctis line which my friend had and literally sounded like an astronaut commentator 😂. But steelseries needs to make drastic improvements upon that in their future models to keep up with the competition. For the price at $180 U.S. I highly recommend the steel series nova 7's 👍👍. Happy gaming everyone!!

But for me, the original HS80 sounds the best out of all of these.

    If Razer would have kept the ear-pad design from the original v2 Pro (or at least made sure to offer replacement ear pads for the 2023 edition), I would buy the Blackshark v2 Pro 2023, because of the mic. But here we are, 6month after the release of that headset and neither third party companies, nor Razer them-self do have replacement ear-pads (v2 Pro ear pads are not compatible to the v2 Pro 2023 earpads).

    if the Steelseries Nova 7x's were made with the same quality mic or better as the blackshark v2 pro the SS would be a easy 10/10 headset. only complaints about the headset i have so far is the mic quality compared to other rival headsets referring to the blackshark v2 pros. #2 the Clamping force is loose and almost non existent #3 the Volume chat/game Mixer doesnt function as smooth as it should you almost have to increase to max on either side to even notice a slight difference in volume like for example when i increase the game volume side of the volume wheel i can still hear the voice chat very loudly until u almost have it maxed out on the game volume side.. with the hyperx cloud flights for xbox you could turn the chat mixer side almost all the way up to max have ur headset overall volume round 80-90% and then click 2-3 times on the game sound mixer side and that sound balance is perfect i just wish SS had the same idea going into that cuz its almost a useless feature on the SS smh and then i dont like how we have to guess the precise position when you're adjusting the adjustable sliders on the side cuz they dont have a notch to tell u that both sides are lined up the same so 1 earcup might be higher or lower than the either unless your patience and take the time to line both sliders perfectly lol

If there is no discernable difference between the v2 pros second and first gen then now question is, is it really such a big and justified difference to get the artics. But I've managed to find the artics for 154 dollars and the v2 pros 2023 for 158 both new. But I can find the first gen v2 pros for 92 dollars brand new. Aaaagghhhh

    I actually don't think the Blackshark sound is truly appreciated by other reviewers like Techne appreciates them. I've been using the Audeze Maxwells for a couple months. Good sound. Not life changing for me vs. my old Blacksharks (definite bass improvement though) but I think it comes at the expense of TERRIBLE footstep detection. In hindsight, I wish I would have just bought the Blackshark v2 Pro 2023. Maxwells are a nice headset but you sacrifice too much in FPS shooters for a viable gaming headset. Not to say the Blackshark is perfect for footstep detection or anything, but it's an overall great package (especially the comfort!) Might see if I can pick them up still during a sale.
    The original lustre of the Maxwells have been wearing off when it's routinely costing me kills in games. I find myself literally spinning around in circles trying to figure out where the footsteps are coming from, although up and down the headset does surprisingly well for directional ques, which is strange.

      @jwlafferty Год назад

      @@DustyDevil I haven't played MW since MW1 (the real MW1) because I have taste, but I could see a lot of headsets having better positional/footstep audio than the Blacksharks.
      But they do give you some sense of direction and are without a doubt better at that than the Maxwells. I also thought the Blacksharks were at least par with the Arctis Nova Pro for positional audio.

    - Control (includes software and hardware control, how effective and easy it is)
