You are bang on buddy, i wasn't impressed with the handle.. So when i damaged the spat i swapped to the steel tipped speedskim which I love, the only downside is that the pole attachment isn't adjustable! It's a set angle.. Keep the videos coming fella 👍
Nice one I’ve used eze years ago but blade warped several times. currently using speedskim not a great fan of em ! Think I’ll get one of these. Thanks for sharing. I’ve just jumped back of me stilts after 10 years of not using them.
hello mate, go easy on the stilts hahaha! yeah mate defo get one its the best spat ive used, and i had the speedskim ones before. Refina make some great stuff!
@@Rendervate cheers, thanks for your reply and advise 👊🏻 I did have the speedskims but I’ve ordered the refina spats as I’ve heard good things about them.
the plastics are no good in my eyes, i was always nicking them on something and it leaves lines in it, i was always sanding them down. the metal can be broke in. its good because at 600 its small enough to get great pressure on it.
@@Rendervate I’ve got a stainless blade but never used it just the plastic I’ll have to give it a run out I know what you mean though about sanding it down can be a bit of a nouse. Happy new year bud have a goodn 👍
@@Rendervate each to their own what ever works for you i use the plastic one only to flatten in first and second coat I find the steel ones follow the shape of the ceiling and don’t get it as flat.
You sound like a very professional tradesman nice one

Nice one that mate I’ve always used speedskim but do like the refina especially the grip for your hands which looks better than it’s counterpart 👍👍
the grip is awsome in your hands mate, i usually moan about the grips on certain tools but this is great!
Big trowel on a pole 😆 quality videos buddy. 🤟
grate vid mate helps alot 😉
No problem 👍
should be able to tighten the extension clip with a allan key
How long would you leave it till you went over it with the spat? Straight after you’ve laid on or wait till it’s pulling in ?
i would go straight away me pal, dont need to wait till its gone. get it on mate, can use it a few times also.

Do you prefer the steel blade rather than the plastic spat?
Plastic better for getting it flat steel blades will just follow the shape of the ceiling to much give in them
