Thankyou so much I’ve spent all my life trying to help people understand and some do but a lot just want an answer to their question and move on. Trying to help others understand weighed me down for years. Now I understand I don’t need to do that . Let people have their own judgments and just cover any unkind words or attitudes with love . I’m 53 and chronically ill. I am just learning about my illnesses and getting them diagnosed. After having Covid, it brought my conditions to the front burner and I realized that my doctor of twenty years just FooFoo’d my symptoms or would placate me by throwing me a medication that never really helped. Since being diagnosed by specialists I’m able to connect the dots. My previous doctor retired and that forced me to find a new one. God blessed me by showing me someone who could get to the bottom of my illnesses. We are still doing testing, but for sure I have Neurocardiac Syncope, POTS, Bradycardia, Asthma, Sleep Apnea, and Restless Leg Syndrome. When I type it all up it sounds terrible. I’m hoping to be able to go back to work next school year. I’ve been teaching for over 25 years with a few years being worse than others, but overall I have been able to work, until Covid. Now it’s just a matter of getting myself healthy enough again.
It's nice to see your joyful attitude, Aimee! It's hard to not complain or grumble sometimes about the difficulties of living with chronic health issues, and I'm praying for you as you live your life through these hardships. Praying also that you would know that God's Grace is simply not grace if it needs to be earned in the slightest on our part. That's how much God loves us; that He has freed us from the burden of *having* to work for salvation. At the end of my life, I can know that faith in Jesus will save me when I didn't do "all that I can do", and that's ok, because faith in Jesus in enough. (Mentioning that specific wording because I've been told that by members of your faith) . We all fall short but Jesus paid it all. I'm speaking to you not with hate but with sincerity, love and conviction. Please read John 1, John 15, Romans 1-3, 8. I'm always hear for a deeper conversation. "But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to HIS own mercy." Titus 3:4-5 "By grace you have been saved , not of yourselves, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-10 "But now the righteousness of God has been manifested... the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus". Romans 3:21-24 ESV
I didn't feel a strong need for others to understand my health until being told I was lying about it. I was recently was told I experienced medical gaslighting. I was frequently told my health issues didn't happen. So I tried to convince myself that I imagined it. I finally figured out what the health condition is and got it diagnosed recently. Sadly I spent decades trying to convince myself things weren't occurring and don't know how to learn to trust myself again.
