I have a picture I got with Andy at the baked potato. Fender should make it an option to add such a picture to the guitar when you order it - it would be a cool way to keep with the theme and Andy’s intent!!!
Daniel Riordan if I was into them that's not a lot of money I have rifles that cost more then 12,000 dollars but eveyone is different oh dont get me wrong I busted my ass working shitty jobs to get what I have
Helium Road the crazy shit is that a Leica camera with lens is more that $12,000.... and I'm not even talking about his signature Leica camera. Just a stock one
@@pabdiary Yes, I think they still make the film version, too, the Leica M7? Last time I saw it in a catalog it was like $5k, body only, no lens. Friend of mine has one, she bought it used a long time ago.
but you hear that on early songs like So Lonely . his Tele had a phase mod and he used Echo Plex everywhere, even on stage. i think the neck profile was familiar to him...
Wow this is a very innovative idea and unique to the artist like stickers on the case but professional photography! Andy has played really great throughout the years fantastic guitar.
During the first minutes I didn’t quite understand the video and it’s odd editing... but it was at 2:57 that I got it. Unbelievably stunning video. It’s a video that reflects Andy’s fascination for art. He tells his story while he plays a rendition of ‘MIAB’ with hand chosen pictures he took over his life. Very cinematic Fender and Mr. Summers!😎👏🏽
That is one fine guitar, and one hell of a player. If you happen to have any B-stock for 300 clams, I'm in. My favorite work of Mr. Summers is the solo when he plays out 'Bombs Away'.
Thank you for taking me a step further to finding the way I want my ownStratocaster to look like. Summers is an exceptional artist, beyond music, and this way of storytelling is brilliant.
This is a really cool idea but all the Police photos make it a little cheesey if you're not a fanatic about the Police. Love those knobs. Wish Fender would have just just done a collab with the camera company. Hope to see more company collabs then artists models. The Fender/IKEA model anyone?
Mr. Andy Somers! You make me wince with emotion when I hear your jazz guitar ! You make me wish I had started learning jazz guitar instead of saxophone. When I was that young, my parents were old polka nuts, they had me playing stupid clarinet! I didn’t even have an appreciation for sophisticated jazz guitar until I heard you in The Police and Stewart Copeland in the Peter Gabriel tracks! I never noticed Sting at all, to be honest. I love you.
When I think of Andy Summers I think of a Stratocaster. Walking on the moon, don't stand so close to me, everything she does is magic, spirits in a material world... Go watch those music videos, go watch live footage. He was never just a tele man.
Mike Adams Right? If this came out in 1986 they might sell some, but most songs by the Police didn’t age that well (A fan of theirs that listens to some real reggae ceases to be a fan of theirs.) They’re counting on some 60 year old Gen Xers to shell out enough for a high quality used car, but for what? The photography is amateurish. Maybe if you could put your own photos on they’d be onto something, but I don’t wanna see candid shots of Sting every day. Also, I can’t stress this enough: this band was NEVER punk.
@@chadlong1109 Respectfully disagree. I think there songs sound of a time but still have aged very well. Like it or not Every Breath You Take is a timeless pop classic. Also, Andy's pictures are far beyond amateurish. He's got a great eye. I will agree, they weren't really a punk band. But, they've admitted this themselves many times.
Video: too much talking, to little music. Guitar: - Doubt if that will be a success. If I want his pictures, I could buy his book. I think I already have. - Why a Stratocaster? He is mostly know for playing Telecaster (with a humbucker). - What is sound-wise or play-wise the advantage?
Loved it...but, less interview vocally, more guitar... Have always loved his playing...complete genius.... A few years ago I was breaking down "wrapped around your finger". I wound up incorporating that into my acoustic set on acoustic guitar. Hopefully my screwy playing does it justice by any means of course. But I just love the style that Mr. Andy bring to his former band and still today. The choral work and fills are stupendous and flat out amazing
what a wonderful mindset ! .....all of us creators..., all of us gods in our own terms.....Andy, Fender, Leica, .each one of us.......with our creative actions....happy new year to us all !
Basically, any guitar sound you hear from an 80's song is a copy of Andy Summers style. There were bands that outright copied the Police sound and didn't even apologize for it, i.e. The Outfield, Men At Work, even YES with Owner of a Lonely Heart. So get that Flanger/Chorus pedal out and have at it!
Fender guitars (I’m more a Tele guy) and Leica cameras are two of my favorite things. I’ve been shooting that camera’s predecessor (the first Leica M Monochrom) since it came out in 2012 and it remains the best camera I’ve ever tried. Every bit as good, in fact, as my American Professional Telecaster.
Totally agree! I have a personal guitar, that was just made for me, by www.jay-dees.de/ All my memories was built in my guitar. From the first note on my music is now something, that is filled with all the up and down fellings in my life.
Ceramic singlecoils ? That's unusual, I have those on my Mexican Strats and although I love them I always thought they were considered lower spec compared to the other pricier alnico pickups... Unless these are custom-made pickups for that particular guitar ?
The ironic thing is while the 80's is often known as the golden shredder age, Andy Summers had more impact than they did, as did The Edge. If you mention EVH, I consider him as someone who came to fame in the 70's. That said, the Police debuted in the 70's too. What didn't emerge in the 70's is the real question?
i think the guitar is quite good looking. but could have been great if andy made them put the overdrive circuit that he got on his tele, it could have been more 'personal'
This is so nice to see. Andy always wooed me with his Brazilian Form and is a World Class Performer because of his variety of playing styles. The Police stuff was a small percentage of his repertoire
Such a great musician and I'm surprised that Andy had never been to the Fender custom shop until now. The guy has been an ambassador for Fender for decades, what the heck?
I want to say he’s underrated,but everybody I know agrees he’s a total badass...🤘🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶
Amen..🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶
Jon Duke He’s a brilliant player. Great clean tones.
I have a picture I got with Andy at the baked potato. Fender should make it an option to add such a picture to the guitar when you order it - it would be a cool way to keep with the theme and Andy’s intent!!!
shame that hardly anyone will get to use the guitar as it costs $12,000
Daniel Riordan if I was into them that's not a lot of money I have rifles that cost more then 12,000 dollars but eveyone is different oh dont get me wrong I busted my ass working shitty jobs to get what I have
Andy is one of the greatest guitarists to ever come out of England. He’s always had an incredible tastefulness to his playing
This guy deserves a lot more credit. Everybody copied his sound and style of playing back in the early 80s.
I could listen to him talk about guitars, music, art, photography, etc. for hours and not be bored.
Watch his documentary then ;)
David Lynch absolutely SHREDDING!
Andy Summers playing "Round Midnight " by Thelonious Monk!
Pure Class! What an underrated musician. Absolute killer!
Awesome! Always was a fan of The Police growing up, and one of the main reasons I started playing guitar!
Very underrated, but he's still badass even if he's 70.
He's just turned 78 !!!
Let’s face it: We all want to be Andy Summers. What an amazing life he’s created, and he’s still creating it. Brilliant.
Great guitar player but why would I want his pictures on my guitar?
Ian Kerr because Fender won't put yours or mine on one hahaha
He’s a really good photographer, his images will probably appreciate in value over time.
For the same reason I want his music in my headphones. That said, don't worry about it unless you're a collector: this thing is like $12k
Helium Road the crazy shit is that a Leica camera with lens is more that $12,000.... and I'm not even talking about his signature Leica camera. Just a stock one

Interesting but I'd rather have his Tele Custom
They already made one
this guitar looks interesting tho, I'd like to see it. I like the knob detail, lol
I hardly knew him as tele guy with glassy sound..
but you hear that on early songs like So Lonely . his Tele had a phase mod and he used Echo Plex everywhere, even on stage. i think the neck profile was familiar to him...
Love this! Photography and music brilliant!
"Waking on the moon" it was one of many hits that made me fall in love for Fender instruments
Wow this is a very innovative idea and unique to the artist like stickers on the case but professional photography! Andy has played really great throughout the years fantastic guitar.

a while after I clued in its all B&W
List: $12,500. Andy, love you, man, but...
Mr Summers may not be as flashy as ones, but name me one man who can create guitar parts like him
Not many guitarists have their own chords. So, that speaks volumes. This guitar looks stunningly beautiful.
Fender makes a lot of cool Strats, but that's a really cool Strat.
Genius guitar player. All those little arpeggios, chord shapes, riffs etc, unique
Another guitar i can't afford and those that can will buy it and put it in storage
Or get out their book of "How to Play the Guitar in Three Easy Chords".
He is and will ever be my greatest inspiration in playing guitar. Thank you Andy Summers.
Being someone who shoots and develops their own film, and plays a little guitar, this is pretty neat.
Mr Summers is the total opposite of a artistic bum and..Fender be guitary the good f-word
That is one fine guitar, and one hell of a player. If you happen to have any B-stock for 300 clams, I'm in. My favorite work of Mr. Summers is the solo when he plays out 'Bombs Away'.
Stewart is trying to put together a Strat at the moment; why not get in touch with him and help him out, Fender?
Thank you for taking me a step further to finding the way I want my ownStratocaster to look like. Summers is an exceptional artist, beyond music, and this way of storytelling is brilliant.
Happy 77th birthday Andy. You are a living Legend.A true inspirational artist.
Andy Summers is one of the handsome and greatest guitarist in the world.
Nice filming with Anton Corbijn vibez.
Big Vibe Energy
Love those knobs. They should sell them separately as well!
You know it’s important because it’s in black and white.
Beautiful and not affordable as always (
I'll buy the guitar if I can get the Leica included 📸
next : a guitar that plays 8mm film.....
I'm going to bought my first Fender for my birthday and my dream is going to be real thanks Fender
This is a really cool idea but all the Police photos make it a little cheesey if you're not a fanatic about the Police. Love those knobs. Wish Fender would have just just done a collab with the camera company. Hope to see more company collabs then artists models. The Fender/IKEA model anyone?
The volume and tone knobs are so cool it's like a Leica camera! Love it well-done Fender.
Aside his techniques, what I admire about him is the “choices he makes”. Then his minimalist approach was what really made him stand out.

I didn’t even have an appreciation for sophisticated jazz guitar until I heard you in The Police and Stewart Copeland in the Peter Gabriel tracks! I never noticed Sting at all, to be honest. He was famous for playing a telecaster.. 🙄 that is a dreadful looking guitar..
When I think of Andy Summers I think of a Stratocaster.
Walking on the moon, don't stand so close to me, everything she does is magic, spirits in a material world...
Go watch those music videos, go watch live footage. He was never just a tele man.
All yours for a mere $12,500. Great job Fender. SMH

Up until "mere $12,500" I considered maybe buying one....
Great concept for a guitar. Glad to see Andy collaborate with Fender on this.
Trop bien la guitare, avec ses photos, j'adore je les trouve très vivantes ..
If you had $12k to spend on a guitar, is this the guitar you'd invest in? Interesting in a design sense - maybe I can see one in a gallery one day.
This stratocaster is very beautiful! I will rate fender the greatest manufacturer that I can create my own signature guitar.
So true! I too, have guitar soloes constantly running through my head 🤪🎸
I think he is a very special guitarist indeed!
Totally is bad ass for sure!!!
Video: too much talking, to little music.
Guitar:

- Why a Stratocaster? He is mostly know for playing Telecaster (with a humbucker).

So a photo scrapbook that really only caters to him, keep it.
Thats nice....but when I think/hear Andy.....its always that magic Tele
For me The Police was Andy Summers and thats coming from a Drummer!
Hi Andy ,furniture. Please, check it out!
Loved it...but, less interview vocally, more guitar... Have always loved his playing...complete genius.... A few years ago I was breaking down "wrapped around your finger". He’s a great guitar player, but that thing looks ugly as hell
Summers is currently 80 years-old.
Now that is a great custom shop Strat ;)
Sweet strat Andy! Very cool idea!!
what a wonderful mindset ! .....all of us creators..., all of us gods in our own terms.....Andy, Fender, Leica, .each one of us.......with our creative actions....happy new year to us all !
Andy is so diverse. I love him more now and i didn't think it was possible.
Basically, any guitar sound you hear from an 80's song is a copy of Andy Summers style. What’s the song from this???
...so I can buy the book.Haha!
Just found this after another post from the brilliant Andy Summers..What an brilliant inspirational idea..Way to go Andy!!

Did they have to get clearance for using Sting and Copland’s likeness. 😆
Ceramic singlecoils ?
That's unusual, I have those on my Mexican Strats and although I love them I always thought they were considered lower spec compared to the other pricier alnico pickups...
Unless these are custom-made pickups for that particular guitar ?
That's why i play Fender! I produced my whole album with it.
Thx for this! Andy is the only Police i like lol

If you have to ask, then you can’t afford it.....the camera OR the guitar! 🐼
This is so nice to see. Andy always wooed me with his Brazilian Form and is a World Class Performer because of his variety of playing styles. The Police stuff was a small percentage of his repertoire
it took my a while to notice this vid is black and white. Chapeau Andy and Fender !
Love it!
Leica Camera Knobs! TAKE MY MONEY!!!
Nice!
I hope this is a sign that they’re going back out on the road. Doesn’t hurt for wishful thinking!! 😉
fucking legend
THANK YOU Andy THE POLICE GREAT
Wonderful player, love his work.
Happy Birthday Andy. Stay save
well deserved...Congrats.
The knobs are a nice touch.
Such a great musician and I'm surprised that Andy had never been to the Fender custom shop until now.
The guy has been an ambassador for Fender for decades, what the heck?
Fender made the Andy Summers custom shop Telecaster, too
There it is my biggest inspiration
Now do a tele
Profound truth in Art Epic
Yeah boi
Looks nice!👍🏻
Very cool! Love Andy!
woah this is recent
hell yeah i love summers
Hey I thought Stew was the photographer of the family.
he has the 8mm recordings
Truly remarkable!!!
Very cool idea!
