  • In this video we practice the body scan meditation. This meditation is used to gain awareness of all the different signals and sensations we can experience in the body. Typically we only notice the body when we feel pain and discomfort. By mindfully focusing our attention on the body, we can begin to notice all sorts of sensations. Practicing the body scan meditation is helpful for managing both pain and stress.
    The elevation for today's meditation is a quote about listening to the body:
    "If we learn to listen to the body when it whispers, we won't have to hear it scream."

    This quote is powerful to remind us to pay attention to our bodies with compassion and curiosity. As you begin to become more mindfully aware of your body you may have difficulty moving through pain. Remember, we are always better off breathing into our pain and honoring its presence as opposed to avoiding.
