A few additions: 1. Mission 32 (Puerto Rican Connection): This mission is based on a similar scene from the 1971 movie The French Connection, which involves an FBI agent chasing the NY Subway train and killing the train jacker on the stairs. 2. Mission 41(Lure): If Niko calls the dealer on his phone and then shoots him when he comes to the window to attend the call, he will receive a wanted level, but it will disappear after he descends down the building (I played this mission yesterday on PC).
Another fact about two missions: 1- Museum Piece mission: the ONLY mission in Grand Theft Auto Franchise features 3 protagonists in one mission, and also, it is the ONLY mission that it can played in 3 different perspectives 2- Final Destination: the mission's name is an obvious reference to the movie Final Destination.
We all know that in GTA V the three protagonists met multiple times at the same time. But GTA IV is the only game were 3 protagonists from 3 different games appear in the same place at the same time, and can be played in 3 different perspectives. Because yes despite being GTA IV expansions, The Lost And Damned and The Balad of Gay Tony are separate games on their own.
Smackdown is also a GTA Advance mission name. Incredibly enough, for a 2D game, the Smackdown mission of GTA Advance is ridicously harder than the GTA III and IV missions with the same name.
@@KanyeWestra it doesnt drive around, it spawns somewhere on the cemetary, but like i said its very very rare, i only found it once in over 500h Playtime
+1 fact: In the mission "That Special Someone" if you decide to let Darko alive, Niko will walk away and Darko will run away. Then you can kill Darko and you won't get the cutscene where Niko shoots Darko, but you will get the same conversation between Roman and Niko what you would get if you decide to kill him
57 is a common practice in video games. The render/draw distance bubble is basically fixed to the player character. Simply leaving the player character behind will causes assets to unload or drop in quality. So Niko must be nearby in order for the environment to render properly. Niko is actually located on the roof of the police station during the shot of Adin being transported.
you missed another fact about "shadow" mission that if we actually not that much close it doesn't spook the dealer & NIKO in the whispering voice answers roman & actually tell him about the mission objective which was was indirectly dev's are saying to the player good job sneaky man.
Also, in the mission "Liquidise the Assets" (if I can remember correctly) if you skip the compound cutscene midway you will automatically be teleported to the roof (tested on PS3 version)
I just wanna speak about Mikhail Faustin. Personally, I like him as a character, I just think his downfall was largely resulted by his drug addiction. He reminds me a lot of my grandfather. They were both wonderful people but turned angry at some point. The coke probably was what messed up Faustin, but while my grandpa wasn’t an angry mob boss hopped up on coke 24/7 but rather a farmer, he was also a nice guy who became angry. This was due to having gone into cardiac arrest and surviving 6 minutes without medical assistance which is much longer than anyone would live after cardiac arrest. I feel like at heart, both of them were wonderful people, and I wish Mikhail Faustin didn’t meet the fate he did. TL;DR: Mikhail Faustin, reminds me of my grandpa. Both angry at some point in their lives but wonderful people deep down. One had heart problems, the other had a coke addiction.
Thanks for this video! IV is such a underrated masterpiece. I’ve learned some new things i never knew before. I’m impressed by so many facts. Nikos and Romans Bike animation by visiting the burning apartment ist unbelievable!
37:41 The title is also a reference to the TV game show The Price Is Right, where the Pricedown font was first used. It was designed by Ray Larabie, who later was employed at Rockstar Canada until 2002.
Did y'all know y'all can go into the hardware store that roman goes into, all you have to do is go in it at the same time as the loan sharks do and you can go inside, but mind you there's not much in there, it's just a black room with a poker table.
Probably the strangest fact in GTA IV is in the mission Three Leaf Clover Niko can Kill Luis Lopez since he’s featured in the mission but it would be non canon since Lopez himself is playable in The Ballad of Gay Tony.
9:42 also the mission name is reference to brucie answer when niko ask him about the mission 14:16 the mission and car chase between car and train is reference to film the french Connection
for "Bull in a China Shop" you can skip the initial dialogue between Niko and the asian guy by just smashing the window "rigged to blow" is also the name of a mission in GTA 3 (the one where you deliver an infernus from shoreside vale to Marks Bistro and you have to drive carefully since the wiring is a mess) I noticed in "Buoys Ahoy" Bernie describes fun as a 4 letter word "Three Leaf Clover": when the gun club member shoots Michael its a reference to the 1991 movie "Point Break"
16:50 Maybe he's ambidextrous (uses both hands). Thinking more about it, Rockstar is reusing animations for characters or him hold the shotgun like that for a moment (not ambidextrous) Also the mission title is also used for a mission in Saints Row 2, a sequel that came out the same year
Fun fact:on the final interview instead of walking out the office and walk down all the steps while in a annoying gun battle just shoot or use a bat to break a window and jump out you get away from the cops fast considering you have a 4 star wanted level after that
Here’s another fact about *Holland Nights:* There’s a crane near the site that you can climb up into and use to snipe Clarence straight away rather than get into a firefight with his goons.
Also for three leaf clover, if Nico shoots too many hostages, it will fail the mission with Packie saying something about he cant have that on his conscious
Actually about "That Special Someone" - сutscene will changed depend on which pistol you having. If you have DE - yea, he gonna shoot 12-13 bullets from 9-round DE... but(!) without commentary. But(!!) if you choose to take Glock pistol - he (Niko) actually gonna speak, like "this bullet for that brother, another bullet for another", and etc.
In the mission Final Interview, if you use a weapon to kill Tom Goldberg you will gain a wanted level, if you use a knife you won't get a wanted level and you can retrive the files to Francis easily. :)
Did you know that you don't necessarily need to take the subway for the mission "Clean Getaway". If you remember the location you can just drive there or take a cab.
It was planned, but got scrapped due to bad reception of the Definitive Edition, instead of admitting they messed up with it, Rockstar basically assumed no one has an interest in older titles
my 2nd favourite GTA game of all time 1st is obviously san andreas but this game was personal because as a kid i can't have a phone so i want so badly to feel like adult which this game made me feel like adult. which i always do this thing where i book a cab intentionally to talk on the phone while i was arriving at the mission at the same time. it was just feel like real life man i am gonna play this game again after my RE4 & DEAD SPACE playthrough.
There's a simpler innuendo about both the 1st opening of the mission about the car lift scene. It's a sign that times are changing. For Niko's perspective, he's moving to the US for a better life, away from his poverty stricken and war-torn Serbia to a changing America. How he's gonna be rich under the pretext of Roman's lies. For John's perspective in RDR, his world's changing too as the way of the old of gunslinging and robbing stagecoaches and horseriding were all gone as big city folks were filthy rich that they can afford cars and with the timeline being 1911, it makes sense as the old west was dying and that was the sign of the times to come for John.

For that special someone mission.

One Last Thing is not the only mission where Niko drinks . In The Holland Play Niko drinks alcohol too
No, he reluctantly accepts the drink but doesn't drink it

I think he will Niko.
How did I never realize that the hitman assassin in the end was the same one with Faustin
