I just graduated EMT school, hands down hardest thing I have done in my 23 years of life . But totally worth it! You will do amazing, everyone you will meet wants to help and they are hands down the smartest people I have met!

Goodluck to everyone pursuing EMT! I got my EMT and went straight to Paramedic classes. I only have a couple more months of rides to gain hours then I can test for graduation!

I just passed my NREMT once again! (My licensed lapsed but I got it back lol) If you guys are worried about the NREMT don’t psych yourself out about how many questions you’re going to be asked. The first time I took it, it stopped me at like 73. This time around it made me take the full 110 questions and I still passed. You’ll be fine, just keep studying :)
Wow. Congrats to all you new EMT's, students, etc... I've been a paramedic since 2004 and this is a dying field, mainly due to the lack of money but it makes me happy to see all these people excited about going. Good luck y'all

@@noahchapman8788 You're right, medical emergencies don't stop but when nobody is there to run them something will have to be done but until then they'll have to be ran with a skeleton crew. Are you even in EMS?

I'm a methodist and can tell you from my personal experience the test questions I got ended up being the same questions everyone else ended up getting. I'm sure you'll do fine as long as you know this is what you want to do.

I just stumbled by this by accident, But my god did it inspire me I am finishing up my emt class and I am so close to being done. But i feel burned out trying to juggle emt class my regular college classes(I am a third year trying to get a biochem degree)and my job. Thank you for posting this video.

What’s the difference between EMT & EMS ?
@@AA-sh9ik EMT is one specific job (Emergency Medical Technician), EMS is an umbrella term that covers all emergency medical care positions (Emergency Medical Services)
I just got hired to work for a town near me!! This is going to be my first emt job, I got my license in December!

I’ve been going back and fourth on whether or not I should take an EMT course. Your video helped a lot. I have some questions for you and your team! Or tips on how to handle difficult calls and not letting it effect your mood or even life. I’m sure you guys get tough calls.

This is awesome! I love how you took us all inside to see what goes on within the EMS system. I just passed my NREMT, and I’m still waiting on getting state certified. However, I’m currently trying to get a PCT job, but if I don’t get it I might actually give EMT a shot lol.
Was it hard? Any suggestions or tips on how to pass? I start taking my EMT course beginning of next year. I started taking it a time before but had a horrible teacher so I left the course.
TripleBlessed The course was not hard. Very doable. The exams prepare you to be ready for the NREMT. Just study on the cardiovascular system and shocks.

I have to say that It's great and it was for me very exciting because I'm a student of the Red Cross of Mexico, I'll be paramedic of Red Cross and for that's interesting for me watch your video. It's very nice. And it was better when I went to your channel and I saw that you're christian, 'cause I'm christian too. HAHAHAHA. Just take it real easy any cramming you're going to do now is going to be too late. Its not difficult of a test honestly over been through all three out of all three and B A And medic honestly B was the hardest in some weird way. It wasnt too bad but it was just the most tedious. Which answer is the MOST right pay very attention to it you already know what to do.

Thank you for putting together such an informative video. Your EMS is so very different to here in Australia. With the exception of remote communities who have community first responders, all ambulances are crewed here by what we call "Registered Paramedics". We don't have EMT level or volunteers in the towns or cities, and it's an incredibly competitive career. it's not uncommon for people to study both paramedicine and nursing, so they have something to fall back on if they don't get a position as a paramedic. I didn't see any mention of your drug kit or cardiac monitor used in your vehicles.
I wanted to be an emt till I took an emr class in highschool and my teacher who had been an emt for many many years described how traumatic it can be. I also did research to find the wage is shit. Respect to all the emts out there doing the job no one else wants to and not being payed a living wage.
I was a EMT prior to getting into Medical School, now I am a resident to become a Emergency Medicine M.D. I will forever love my EMT program for getting me interested in medicine after traumatic life experiences of my own. If you genuinely still want to do it do it. This can be a great pathway to some better long term careers in health care! Yes you see crazy things but you get used to it and just worry about the patient.

Forget about the pay, think about if it's something you wanna do or not. Focus on that. Pay will come with experience and you need experience for anything.

I used to be from Carroll County they had volunteers doing all the EMTs and Volunteer firefighters mainly because it’s so far from Baltimore and it’s way out in the county so they didn’t really have the people to do that stuff so they always needed volunteers

Just be confident and don't hesitate to ask. You're there to learn so don't be scared to ask questions!

i wanna be a emt and im 11 but I've wanted to be a emt for about a month and a half now
idk why I'm watching these because I messaged my ambulance station's manager yesterday to say I'm not interested anymore after I did one ride along (aka a broken leg call that was it all day haha) and loved the idea for about two years lmaooooo. There was heaps of other reasons behind it, but I guess because it was such a big dream of mine and now it's most likely not a reality, I'm sad hahahaha. maybe down the road when I'm older as I'm 18 in 3 days so I still have heaps of options open for me and I'm so grateful for what I have :)

Just a warning, you won't make a liveable wage in EMS. Enjoy the stress, long hours and people using your ambulance as a taxi. It gets very old, very quick.

Aw watching this makes me sad my company has an AOC building but it's on the outside of our county in knoxville TN so when we work 24 hours or any hour shift we stay in the truck the whole time we have posts around town we park at between calls but we stay in the truck
