You can also use 'Print and Cut' in Lightburn. You just need two registration marks on your material. You tell lightburn when your laser is at each one and it aligns job perfectly. Material can be straight or crooked, doesnt matter.
Such a great idea! Love all of your helpful hints and tips. Always excited when I get that alert that you've posted a new video! Another neat trick for aligning the jig is to do like you did - putting the green alignment marks at the center and four corners - but then using lightburns feature to drive the laser head to those corners using the icon that looks like a map icon (left column of tools). If you drop that icon on the very outside each corner it will, in real time, drive the laser head to that point and you can see if your jig is lined up exactly on the bed. I've used the framing method for a long time but for extremely precise engraving I found the map icon approach works great! Thank you Emily for all the time you put into teaching all of us! Your videos were the spark that got us on the road to lasering a couple years ago!
I am loving this style of video Emily (especially the pop up hints and tips as you go) As an avid viewer of all your videos (and FB page) it just keeps getting better and better and I am learning so much. Thank you for all your hard work to make us all better Moms (and Dads and Humans) with a Laser ❤️
With the exhaust system set up, how bad are the fumes? Do you still need a mask with a good ventilation system? Is it safe for little kids to be around while cutting/engraving?
If you hold, I believe it's shift (not at my PC with LB, could be control) and double click on the layer in the list it will select all those items for you, so you don't have to draw around 'em to select them as well.
Hey, I'm looking for your video on the California compressor I've just ordered one for my machine and I went to look back at your video and can't find it?
Just commenting on this new video cause I feel you're most likely to see it on this video, around how much does that laser cost per hour roughly as far as powerbill?
Oh so I found your newest post. Is there anyway you can help me decide which laser machine to purchase? After doing some research I am still no more convinced, just more confused. I watch a lot of your videos and am interested in finding out more about this machine since you use it regularly and post regularly. Do you make phone calls?

Thank you so much for this thorough explanation! Many laser videos from others skip the framing in Lightburn directions!

Thank you! I really appreciate your LightBurn info as well!!
Have you considered using the print and cut option in Lightburn? That’s another option on how to align your job.
Great tip about checking engraving time when using Lightburn. I learned something new!

My pleasure. Thanks for joining me during the live.
Does this not have a honeycomb bed ?
It does. I just removed it and only use it for cutting with small bits. :)
Can you please tell me, is your business viable or a hobby?
