    Magnificent playing. It may seem strange for an English musician to say this,but there is no finer organ sounds than those produced by a classic French organ.

      Peter yasin Great playing indeed. I do love the variety of tone available (and the Grand Jeux) but I'd also say that each period and organ school has its own splendour.

    To Peter Adams and Chris Bond: there are many 'classic' French organs, with their astounding qualities, unique in the world. Now, with Hauptwerk and the right hardware (console, computer (with 64 GB of RAM!!!), speakers) you can actually play some of these organs in your own home! I have the amazing 'French' organ in Rieti (italy) built by B. Formentelli in accordance with the principles of Dom Bedos - it is simply stunning! I also have some other French organs - Menesterole, for instance - and their glorious reeds make the whole house shake! Get the technology and play these divine instruments to your heart's content!!!

      french baroque organ music with "plein jeux"is very pleasing harmonically to the ear,in someway it's kind of "yoga" for the ears

    I agree with Peter. English organs are great but the Europeans, mainly the French and Germans made some great reed stops. I have no idea how they keep them all in tune.
    I'd love to have a play on this instrument. What a sound!

    • @ErreEffe
      @ErreEffe 5 лет назад +1

      French reeds are very powerful, the Germans ones are less "exuberant", the Italians (my favourite) are a bit "rustic".

      Although I hear from the further comments that this organ is *French.* The piece would sound as lovely on the organs of Spain. Bourbon-Habsburg link, perhaps?
