This guy should lead trainings at IGN headquarters on "how to review"
Truly
I'm glad someone at IGN gave this review to a guy who actually apreciates RPGs
Why do any of you even bother watching ign reviews when u assume they are all wrong. (which is false)
I watched this review because I was hoping it wouldn't spoil anything. Which aside from that like first action in the game spoiler it probably kept from doing rather well. This game seems like one best experienced a first time.
More like your comment should have read "I agree with this man".
This reviewer shouldn’t be working for ign ....he should start his own game review streams. His review made me interested in purchasing this game.Great review looking forward to more from him
Why no comments?
Why just two comments?

Whenever this guy is doing the review for IGN, it’s the only time I’ll take it seriously 😂
I really like how this review was written. Felt really professional. I also really like this guy's delivery. I don't remember the last time I heard a non american accent on IGN xD
The dude who does all the racing titles actually knows what he’s talking about, too.
Is it the accent?
IGN UK tends to be better received than the US office from what I've seen, and actually seem to know and enjoy what they do. They did bring us Prepare To Try after all.
So basically you like all the reviews were games get high scores lol
the art of this game is breath taking like a giant oil painting
B H This game is like making a giant oil painting. It’s gonna take forever and you’re gonna get lost in the detail. ^^
YOU ARE BREATH TAKING
It is a giant oil painting
Like our Lord and Savior Keanu Reeves
Should be called "Francis Bacon: The Game". Looks great.
So on my first playthrough I had a heart attack and died in the first minute of the game.
Me too
Me too. I wish I had fared better. I really wanted to beat this game.
Had a similar experience with Subnautica.
You should do a speed run
lol wtf.
Am i the only estonian here who is just happy that their home country has accomplished such an amazing feat in the gaming industry?
Lol. Estonian government nor Estonian public made this game. Some Estonians may have been involved but that doesn't make it country of Estonia game.
@@BradGrassforest According to Wikipedia, it should be made by a london-BASED estonian studio, so technically it should have quite a bit to do with Estonia
Made and published by an estonian studio. So yeah...its an estonian game. Main writer and artist both are estonians..
No Estonian Pride was harmed during the making of this game.
No, me too! It’s quite unreal, the madmen did it!
Hands down, one of the Best reviews IGN has done, amazingly written and voiced
I’m stuck in social distancing “quarantine” right now. This game will no doubt help me kill time. Can’t wait to play. Thanks for the cool review.
Same .This is the best moment to play this game
Been replaying all those ps1/ps2 final fantasies that I never got round to finishing. Would love to delve into this. But have no money 😒
Did you enjoy it
Hope you had fun. Hope lockdown wasn't too rought for you and you enjoyed the game
Who's also here after hearing about this game for the first time at the Game Awards?
Tell me bout it I thought the outer worlds was going to win role-playing game of the year
I learned about it from GameMakersToolkit.
Heard it from a friend and played it recently. Not the least bit surprised about what it got at TGA.
You guys just witnessed a masterpiece.
Yup
Now that's what i call a review!!
Highly professional !
ج
Benghazi gaming he liked the word. What’s the problem? I wouldve went with articulate but that’s me. Erudite is him. Do you.
@Benghazi gaming i just learnt that word lol
Thanks for correcting me
LOL so erudite he can't pronounce "psyche"
Bought the game straight after this review :)
I feel smarter just from this review
Disco Elysium was like therapy for my soul.
Its so much better now. All the clipping bugs are gone and the dialogue is fully voiced now
This just won best indie game of the year.
And best RPG!
It won 4 statues
Tbh this should also win goty. But I also like Sekiro. Probably DE is too niche for mainstream
@@lzcats7431 nah it's a great game, but not goty worthy
@@typhoeus7774 it's goty imo
I love the idea of skills being characters. It just revolutionizes the RPG idea.
It reminds me of the Pet Pal perk from Divinity Original Sin II which is essentially 100 characters in one lol
best game I've played in ages. A slap in the face to other new game developers. I hope it's going to be a game changer for a new standard of RPG games. Dreamy, deep, curious, somewhat intellectual, and utterly rewarding.
this was the kind of game that I just HAD to get based on the art alone. hearing that it just might as well be this generation's Planescape: Torment is the cherry on top... and it's a pretty damn big cherry.
this is one the very best pc rpgs i ever played ,it earned it's place among planescape , baldur's gate saga and fallout 1/2 imo
I am 7 hours into this game and my gosh it is the best thing I have played all year.
If it's better than Sekiro then it'll be a hell of a game.
@@thesprawl2361 Seems like it's nearly impossible to compare the two
@@thesprawl2361 "if Avengers Endgame is anything like pokemon the movie, it'll be one hell of a film" your comparison makes no sense.
@@expressivecut9303 The OP said Disco Elysium "is the best thing I have played all year"
.
Sekiro is the best thing I personally have played all year.
Therefore, for Disco Elysium to be the best thing I have played all year it will have to compete with Sekiro.
See? Not that complicated in the end was it?
@@thesprawl2361 Sekiro along with all the souls games are the worst, most basic brainlet games in all of gaming history. Even madden brings more to the gaming universe than those trash.
It's amazing, it's unlike anything I've played in 35+ years of gaming.
Would love to see this studio do their take on Westwood's Blade Runner videogame. That'd be a stunner.
I played it to death when it came out, never got all the endings though as I was a kid. Huge blade runner fan. Recently downloaded it to finish all of the endings, your idea would be amazing.
@@AudioPhile where did you download it from..is it on steam?
@@jasewildheart nah man it was an abandonware site. Myabandonware or the like.
@Withnail what is GOG?
@Withnail cheers mate. And that means I can play it on a new pc right?
I'm not that reading guy, playing Apex Call of duty, tlou, Halo, Fortnite and so on. And them proof the first day on this game, Make me love reading and get excited and enjoying it. Disco elysium for me became one of the favorites now🤟🏻
This is the real successor of Planescape Torment.
Wait wait wait...mistakingly thinking I'm a rockstar? Baby Tequila Sunset is a rockstar.
Now that they won indie game of the year, I think this game got what it deserves
They won 4 game awards this year, the most number of awards
Not until it releases on console
Please IGN let this guy to review games for NOW ON please.. thank you
The writing for this review is as much of a masterpiece as the game itself.
are you Polish or German lol?
What is up with the extremely high quality review. Weird.. .coming from IGN.
Stop crying, he's done more IGN reviews
@@dennisdeslager3382 he's not?
@@dennisdeslager3382 ???
Anyone else looking forward to playing this for the first time next week when The Final Cut is released on PS5?
Just got a new PC, yet I still feel compelled to play these beautiful isometric games. The art in this looks amazing.
Amazing game! I'm only on day 2 and I've been playing two playthroughs with amazingly different results so far. I highly recommend it
My fav game of 2019..... buy this game!
Just picked it up this week. I've already sunk 12 hours in! Deserved its score, but the final cut is easily 10/10 for me.
This is the type of niche game that you know you’ll either love or hate before you even buy it. But those who play it will love it
Yes this is definitely a game that is not for me I appreciate the game tho. I would love to watch a streamer play it with commentary or maybe not 💀🏄♀️
I'm gonna buy it to support Mikee Goodman but I'll probs never play it.
I want this game on my Switch. What a great game for portable consoles.
So it has divinity original sin 2 narrated amazing writing for an entire game? That is INSANELY AWESOME.
I wish whoever developed this game could make a licensed Fallout series game
I can't think of anything sadder than a writer of this level being stuck writing spinoffs for an established and restricted IP
@@lusteraliaszero for real. We want more! DLC, new IP, anything. Pleaaaaseeeeee. It was such an amazing experience.
@@lusteraliaszero This guy + Miyazaki creating a game.
Bravo dude.
With a company like Ign that is filled with a bunch of untrained, poorly educated in video game culture, with limited vocabulary and weak visions, you truly are a fresh a breath air.
I stopped watching IGN a long time ago for the above reason. You better make this guy a lead or something and fire the rest.
Wooooow 9.6
Best score 2019?
@@lenso7294 not a game but ok.
Don't worry, Death Stranding will get an 11
@@theycallmeGUN just cause creator and clicks, lol
Lmao be aware they reviewed this as a pen paper rpg
Modern warfare is coming.
IGN will give it higher than 9.6.Its their bread and butter.
This reviewer is legit. IGN, get me more reivewers like this fella and I'll start taking your reviews seriously again.
You should listen to the IGN UK podcast, Cardy is on it every week and it's as funny as it is informative.
2019 sleeper hit?
YES this game looks like it's tailormade for me!
I hope the game does well enough that the dev has the insensitive to make console ports of this game. It truly looks like something pretty unique.
@Seal Games *incentive
Best experience ive had playing a game. It truly shows how games transcend being a fun distraction and become art.
I reviewed this review and gave it a 8/10. That's a full 8 points higher than an average review on this channel normally receives. Well done!!
IGN employee who actually knows what he's doing
THIS GAME DESERVES ALL THE ATTENTION OF THE GAMING MEDIA! Great review btw!
You wish came true. It won the best indie award and best RPG
I've had my eye on this for at least a year now, just from a preview in Edge. Stylistically it's immediately gorgeous and I'm very curious.
I just hope my shitty laptop can handle it.
The Sprawl yeah read that article too, the release has come out of nowhere
yoo same
Great review. Gorgeous art. Going to buy 👍🏽
Was it worth it ?
It has to be more than 30 hours long. I'm about 20 to 30 hours in, and I just found my ID badge and I'm only on day 3.
Cant believe ign actually put effort into a review
Pixar's Inside Out meets Charles Bukowski.
I wouldn't mind beefing up my physical instrument!
Consoles need trial versions. I'm so intrigued by this but, I'm afraid it's not for me
Why do people complain so much about a score being higher than another? It also depends on what the game tries to achieve, the genre and other factors. It's not like you should 100% play this game instead of something like Archeage or Pokemon because it has a higher number.
TheLMB You're a man with a lot of intelligence 💯
This is the best PC game I've played in a decade. As a long time gamer is wonderful to find something so magical again.
@Rafael Lopez Canel did u refund it?
Is the background music of this review part of Disco Elysium? If so, I will play it regardless. Sounds chiiiiilllllll!
Hadn't even heard of this game but this just sold me on it.
Play it. If you like RPG this game is soooo for you
Superb review Cardy, and I’m loving the Never Have I Ever... series.
1:23 Is that the pattern from The Shining?
I believe that is indeed the same pattern but different colours
The dialogue in this game is JUICY so much noir in the script it out-noirs cheap cigarettes and sour whiskey.
This looks so interesting, can't wait for it to come to PS4. Btw, what's the song that kicks in at 3:25? Sounds pretty chill.
This looks AMAZING. This game completely passed me by and I had never heard of it, but now I need to play it
So, not for the Call of duty crowd? 😅
Artwork is stunning. Game looks great. Will have to try it
I'm pretty sure "psyche" is pronunced "saiki".
combat isnt a focus + freedom gameplay like DnD game, this game is like torment: tides of numenera
Great review. If you don't mind the tip, "psyche" is pronounced /psy-kee/
didnt even realize that this was an ign review until ign came up in the beginning. this guy is great
Imagine if triple A companies did graphics like this. This is so much better.
"Check out the first 26 minutes of the game"
Not to be rude IGN but that sounds like a horrible suggestion, this genuinely seems like a game best experienced the first time.
Well, watching a review already spoils the most interesting parts of first starting the game (being all of his the game works, and how you initially know nothing imo). It’s understandable that a lot of people don’t want to buy a game until they’ve seen some of it, especially with something as niche as this game. There’s still plenty many many more great moments to see even if some earlier ones are spoiled. And even then, you can pick a different starting detective, and the starting experience will differ quite significantly
Actually this review did a pretty great job of not hitting ANY of the story beats while putting across the character of the game. Like yeah they spoil the minute one thing, but again, that is minute one and you are forced to know it the moment you leave your room.
Honestly this review is pretty great.
Ign giving a 9.6 to a game that isn't fornite? Mm maybe there's still hope for mankind
"There is no violence in this game". Clearly not targeted at the US market...
My brother recommend me the game I wanted to find out more about it so I searched on RUclips. I'm glad I did because I ran into you, this video has helped me understand the game more than the trailer has so thanks
I really like this reviewer's style of delivery
So I'm not the only one who forgot they were watching and IGN video, right? It was like listening to those smaller RUclipsrs who don't have the audience they deserve.
It looks like the love child of Westwood's Blade Runner and Black Isle's Planescape: Torment. Sold.
I have never seen a review except for Bloodborne that has made me so intrigued by a game, I hope there's amazing music to pair with this game.
Sorry if already asked but what is the background music in this video? A part of the OST I assume?
There needs to be another Disco Elysium game ASAP.
Looks beautiful, but I wish it was from a first person POV. I really hate looking down at my character like those old arcade video games. Kinda takes me out of the game if I can't look around from 1st person POV.
We need on PlayStation4
wish granted!
Hope Baldur's Gate III has similar approach to the art style.. Absolutely beautiful backgrounds
The word "psyche" is pronounced with two syllables: "si-kee", not "sike".
Ah thanks, was looking for this comment.
Hands down their best reviewer who doesn't sound like a filthy casual gamer who plays Candy Crush all day long
What's the soundtrack played at the beginning part of the review?
This is IGN content? Wow. You made me buy it!
One of the best games I have played this year. Nice review dude.
This game reminds me of Torment: Tides of Numenara
This reviewer alone restores some of my faith in IGN. He's the best I've seen/heard through your site.
what's the music in the background?
Who is here after disco elysium won 4 awards?
I would buy for the artstyle alone.
Awesome game, awesome review. Who is this guy doing the review? Cant wait to play this game as soon as I picked it up. We need more of these type of game
For a heavily story driven game with a large portion told through dialog it seems weird to have a video review with no examples provided of the mentioned voice acting. I got that you have mixed feelings about the performances, but it would be nice to have had a quick snip or two like IGN normally does.
A game where I can persuade a door to open? Sign me up.
With Disco Elysium and the release of The Outer Worlds (not to be confused with The Outer Wilds) we have a small golden age of worthy RPG's.
In love with the art style. 👌✨
This is my kind of game, hope more game have this kind of gameplay.
Who’s here after the 2019 Game Awards?
So it's D&D in the modern world. You roll. Punch Failed and smacked your own face
