Japanese games are always overrated. This is a game with PS3 graphics and the same dodge+attack mechanics of all their previous games. To call this "a masterpiece" and give it 10/10 is a complete joke. Literally nothing about this game is innovative, nothing.
Genius. Being able to ditch a frustrating boss and go elsewhere is just pure genius for a fromsoftware game
It is one of the best changes they have made imo, but it does make it a bit easier though
@@mikerzisu9508 it's as easy or difficult as you want it to be. You can grind and level up and wreck the boss or take him early for a challenge. The level of freedom in this game is insane.
You could always turn the game off
Or the boss hurts your ego and you die inumerable times to it, bashing your head at it until it dies. Ahh classic souls

That's what happens when Game Devs/Publishers don't cave from corporate pressure to rush the game and have it released to fit a certain schedule. We need more freedom for these kinds of games to breathe and take its time!

I'm so hooked on this game. The magic and incantations along with spirit summons make for awesome boss battles. Never played any Dark Souls or Bloodbourne but it's got me wanting to now.

The only thing that had me worried about the game was whether they’d be able to make the open world feel varied and interesting where it seems so many open world games fail to do this. I’m super glad to hear they knocked it out of the park in that respect. Never doubt FROM, they are masters of their craft.

Owning this game is like a chest full of treasures. Truly an unforgettable experience in an RPG genre. A priceless treasure like Demon Souls, Dark Souls series and Bloodborne... Two thumbs up From Software. Another magnificent game.

The effort and care the devs seem to have put into this game is outstanding. In an age of games that are released buggy, broken and unfinished, from software deserve a thank you for making such a masterpiece.

This game has everything unique bosses, great weapons, massive areas to explore, secret hidden pathways, a weapon what's a literal finger, warp portals two different regions across the map. Hell you can just walk around and find something in the world. Game of the got damn year.

@@doctordoom6461 Witcher 3’s combat is absolute garbage and CD projekt red destroyed their reputation completely with Cyberpunk.
No day one DLC, no microtransactions or battlepass of any kind. Except for some bugs and performance issues Elden Ring is a complete package, this style of game isn't for everyone, but for me it's an absolute must buy and I'll probably be playing it for years.

My jaw just drops to the floor while playing through this game. The environments and vastness of this game is beyond impressive and incredible. Easily in my top 5 best games I've ever played. From software developers deserve so much praise and recognition.

This was a well deserved 10/10 rating. Elden Ring is an absolute masterpiece, and a masterclass on how to make a video game. It's one of the best games I've ever played.
10/10 would mean PERFECT in all areas. There is no way anyone can give the camera and clunky controls a perfect score. Just another biased fanboy review, once again.
Elden Ring outruns every other currently released game. Even for its minor flaws Elden Ring accomplished a lot, providing a nostalgic experience, with tense excitement moments. You can't rate a game on its controls alone, but even so it has the best controls I've seen in a game. The camera is the only thing that is not so great. Maybe if you played the game correctly instead of refunding it the second you got past the tutorial after dying, you'd know the game is actually great.
The souls formula is the perfect formula for gamers that seek adventure and challenge, just about each souls like title wins game of the year or is the most well received by critics and audiences.
YES YES! That is why elden ring is a masterpiece, when you fight a boss and then die by him you get the determination to no matter what beat them that is why you fall in love with the series or the game because you like the adrenaline to know that whatever you do is an important move for your life.

Dude co op is a blast in this game! Grab a friend or play with randoms!. It's going to be fun! Contrary to what you hear about these games, Fromsoftware wants you to beat the game with people. The entire vision behind their co op was becase the creator Miyazaki had a car problem and someone helped him and vanished.

FromSoft just proving yet again that they are the torchbearers of the gaming industry's old spirit: total dedication to their craft, releasing a complete game upon launch, and constantly trying to innovate without sacrificing their soul.

The way of completing side quests in From Soft games is different to any other game. They aren’t there for you to ‘successfully complete’ them. What you do will affect the NPCs is different ways, some might be positive, usually negative. The negative is just as important to convey the experience of the world as the positive is. And just like the real world you might continue on your own path and forget about a task you wanted to,do to help them

There are games made with half the amount of content here, more technical issues, charged for $70 and even have the audacity to try & prey money out of you further with MT’s. This is a great reminder for what games should be like
Game should be $600 based on the amount of content it has. What a value. Some sections can be self contained games by themselves. Definitely one of the best games ever created!

This game is a true RPG through and through. You can do basically anything you want and beat bosses in many different ways. The freedom you have in this game is close to nothing else we've seen. Not to mention the lore and story behind the elden ring world. This game is definitely one of the best games us gamers have been given in a long time.

@@omjlcm depends what you value in games. Elden ring has way more replay ability and gameplay depth than the Witcher, but the Witcher has better characters and a more interactive story. They’re both fantastic in different ways

He has the legacy advantage of creating games when the competition wasn’t as global. To be able to create new games in todays climate where the competition is much higher, that are masterpieces, is not to be taken lightly.

How crazy is it that this game is only £50 BRAND NEW on the PS store, being a fully completed absolute gem of a game, and then you have other games at £70 that are a lazy unfinished piece of crap on release. The one game that is actually worth the month is cheaper than the rest
Horizons forbidden west is also a fantastic game and well worth it.. Only experienced 1 bug in 30 hours so far.

Not played Horizon yet, but Dying Light 2 has many bugs and glitches. I’m not surprised either, it’s the norm these days, 2022 and games are releasing worse than they ever have before! I’ll finish Dying Light, but then I’m straight onto Elden Ring

I'm on my 4th play through and still new stuff to find. For both the challenge and being pivotal in approach this will be one of my top three games of all time. The other two I'm sure will come from From Soft again

@@phoenixsmokes Dark souls 2 is perfectly fine, it doesn't have the 4 directional rolling crap that DS1 had, and has some pretty memorable bossfights too. The biggest issue with it is how hard it is to play with someone else. Feels more like it was designed for singleplayer than any other DS or souls-like game in the franchise.
Its health decay from dying feels very Demon Souls as well, just gotta accept that 50% is your true health and anything else is extra.

@@bryan_350_5 DS2 at launch was pretty bad. Scholar is much better, though, and DS2 dlc is the best part of the entire Souls series imo. Demon's Souls is the worst Souls game by far, and the remake proves it.

This is what you called a True Game. The Difficulty, The Epic Boss fights, The Open World, The Exploration, The Rpg mechanics, Item Huntings, Mini boss fights.
It Deserved the Game of the Year Award.
Perfect game it captures the open world of Skyrim and Zelda Botw but the uniqueness of this game is the epic boss fights and the difficulty of the game.

Just the fact that this is a true open world style has my attention. And the creator of GOT has his influence in the game is awesome. This is my first From game I'm excited to get my A** handed to me
Quite litterally one of the few triple a devs who actaully give a damn about the player and not the money.
Just focus on learning the map and mechanics and move sets, don’t expect to have a perfect run on few areas of the game. Some areas makes you want to commit arson, so take breaks every now and then. This mantra Works out well with all souls games.

@@tonyshome Be ready to die, ALOT. Its just part of the game, the sooner you accept that enemies will be killing you just as much as you killing them, the easier it'll be to accept the perfect formula that is souls borne games. Don't give up! You'll not regret it.
After youve played this game, you should check out the rest of fromsofts games, they are all so amazing (especially bloodborne if you have a ps4/5)
Some games you can just tell the developers put their heart and soul into it trying to make a timeless masterpiece for the ages. Crazy how from the first gameplay trailer last year you tell it was one of those games.

I've said this before and I'll say it again all the From software games are just adult versions of Zelda. It's what Zelda should have been since they showed that trailer way back in the day. And especially now that Elden ring has an overworld and a horse to ride. It's literally the Zelda that everybody's always wanted. Nintendo you're never gonna beat this. You should have did this years ago. Thank you From software for making an adult version of Zelda that's what we wanted.

It's Zelda with the added shitty controls and even worse camera. Oh and a story that makes zero sense, unless you read through tons of lore first....which is NOT in the actual game, great design.

The best way to explain this game is that even if you don't complete all areas or beat the already discovered 151 bosses (listed on wiki so there's probably even more), it's beautiful in the sense that there's literally so much to do and so many places to go. So almost every player will still have their own experiences and probably have enough to be satisfied. Even if you only fight 80 bosses, that's still 80 bosses! This game is the best open world rpg any true fan of those genres could ask for.
Another great thing about the extra bosses is everyone's first playthrough wont be exactly the same and it gives reasons for a 2nd playthrough/ new game+
Less bosses, and less janky combat, many boss's are just reused.

It is. Bloodborne and Sekiro didn't get a 10/10 and those games have less flaws than this one, and with much better combat.
It's heavily overrated. That doesn't mean it's bad, but people tend to ignore the flaws. It's the same thing that happened with DS1.

Fromsoft deserves the success they have had. This is a complete experience, with excellent mechanics, open world, and so much pvp and lore to last for years. Game of the year for sure!

@@Broodismanifest yea but you need to be smart about it and study the weaknesses and patterns of bosses, but it also lets you target weak points easier.
After this whole time, I've cooled to a 9.5/10 instead of a 10/10. Loss of variety in enemies in later areas and enemies becoming sponges being the main culprit. Those areas are entirely optional though, so it's still an amazing game.
