Started my pool cleaning business in 2014, and I made all the mistakes. But I learned quickly. I missed out on a lot of profit before being able to get my expenses down to about 12-14%. Not too shabby in FL, which is for some reason, the cheapest place for pool service on Earth. Great info! It's crazy; I belong to a few FB groups, so I see 2-4 brand new pool cleaning companies start up every year. They start strong, get a bunch of business, everyone raves on them, and then a year or two later I'm receiving and influx of calls... because they've evaporated. I always wonder where they went wrong because this truly is a recession-proof, highly profitable business... once you get the business side of it down.

I’m a a Canadian considering moving to Florida to start a pool business. I know a friend that did it during the pandemic and he only does 60 pools 3 days a week. I’m a single guy with no family so I assume I should be able to live on 60K a year or less. Is that a reasonable estimate for the business?
@@JJ-qp6jw it depends on the pools and the area you settle in, but in Central FL, they're getting between $130 and $150 a month per pool, sometimes more. And when you add services like seasonal CYA, filter sales once a year, salt cell cleanings, etc, and you watch your other costs, you can make a good living.

@@JJ-qp6jw you can expect to bring home more than that with 60 pools - after expenses.
@@mooky407 what do you think the profits would be after expenses with 60 pools?

Do not buy a pool route. Start it yourself from the ground up or you will fail or at least be in hauck for too long to turn a profit.
Buying 70 account at 600$ each sounds slot better than knocking on doors
Do you have specific bookkeeping experience with pool service businesses?
The amount of times this lady said the word “business” is actually insane
LOL. I never noticed I did that... I'll keep that in mind.... Tammy
As I read this comment, I then heard it like 9 times in 3 Sentences. But for real what a great video!
