Dave I just wanted to let you know that you have helped me tremendously over the past few years. I started Englewood Pool Care in Englewood Florida 2 years ago with only the knowledge from your videos and having my own pool for 5 years. Im a pool guy in california and vac about 2 pools a year. All the pools here have pool sweeps and cleaners. So I just brush. Not vac. And hardly any pools in my city have heaters or spas. That equip. Bought a house with a pool that has both salt and a chlorine tablet holder. My guess is previous owner added the chlorine tablet thing when the salt cell failed. Been trying to get up to speed on all the pool tech. Some say salt is too corrosive and that it can get into the rebar and metal mesh and cause it to corrode. Is this true? In the winter months in Florida (60 and 70F) the chlorine tablets last longer ar about 2 to 3 weeks I noticed.

Great video, as well as all of the videos that you do. I have gone from a first time pool owner no nothing, to considering starting up a small pool cleaning business and your video's were a constant and consistent source of valuable information. I just wanted to let you know that your efforts have not gone unappreciated. My only suggestion on this video, would be to start the video off with a clean illustrated diagram of a pool only and pool only with spa and heater with the main equipment and circulation, and/or show a well set up clean example of pool equipment. You probably already have these videos and diagrams in your ebook or separate videos. Thanks again?

In summer season water gets green faster so what precautions shall we take ,also Chlorine get evaporates fastly, so which disinfectant is good that is stable in pool.
Thanks for the vids. I'm a new pool owner and your videos have been very helpful. Is your ebook still available and how much is it? Is it compatible with android tablets?

I don't think our daughter would come out to us till we had a pool, she's not a fan of very hot countries & when abroad lives in the pool...
Tell your viewers to never store muriatic acid in their garage the gallon jugs vent fumes that will corrode all of your tools and your cars. I wish somebody would have told me before so much of my things were destroyed. It’s OK to store liquid chlorine in your garage as it doesn’t corrode anything. Now here’s the kicker you pretty much have to store your muriatic acid outside and a nice looking container made for pool equipment but remember anything that’s metal inside that pretty container will be destroyed by the venting muriatic acid. You do not want to store liquid chlorine outside with the muriatic acid because the heat where I live in the desert just basically turns the chlorine to water and Macy useless so I have turned to using chlorine tabs which can be stored outside and won’t be harmed by the heat so when you’re doing it yourself sometimes it has and I’m noxious learning curve. Just a heads up
Clear off pollen on the top with the Polaris hose and guide it into the skimmer by spraying the water left and right creating waves. Can clear the top of the water with thatt trick in 3 mins instead of wasting 20 min netting !
Have 16' x 32' Doughboy that is out of control after years of adding copper sulphate etc. Draining it as we speak...very low maintenance for years...always stayed clean. This year PD dropped to 6.5 and copper is out of control and still it turned green. Problem? My young grand children coming out of the pool with funny rashes here and there and water has a "bite" to it. So...pool is being drained, walls to current liner wiped of green and any stain. Pool refilled with fresh water an first 10min or so will be fresh water backwashing the 250lb sand filter to waste to help clear it of any chemicals that may still be in there. Question: I'm thinking of converting to salt system or just go back with what I was doing but watch the copper ppm a bit better as well as the PH. Your thoughts? Tks Greg in Augusta, GA PS I am a new subscriber to your very informative videos.
I would say to just use chlorine - liquid is the best choice for your pool type. Then add borate to bring the level to 50 ppm. Forget about using copper going forward as the Borates will prevent algae growth. See if that works for you as salt is an expensive alternative. I would get everything working like that first and once you have it dialed in then think about upgrading to salt.
Hi got a question we just got a new pool build and one of the maintenance guys was telling us we should not use the pool that much during the first 30 days to protect the plaster and to last longer. Is there any truth to that?
Yes. He is exactly right. It is like wet cement still for the first 3 weeks.Any touching of the plaster except to brush it will potentially leave marks. Standing on it in the first week - your foot print will be in it for the life of the plaster. Dog prints, manual vacuum wheel marks, I have seen it all.
absolutely enjoy your video's. I have learned a lot and my pool has benefited. Question? have you ever did a full pool acid bath? I have a dark plaster pool with some white calcium buildup and they are telling me to use 20 gallons of acid with the pools 20,000 gallons of water. Said it takes a week with scrup down and drain half fill fresh and enjoy the beginning plaster color. My pool is only 1 year old. My pool doesnt look crazy bad...i am just picky and watch all my chemicals and dont like imperfections. I also have been using an app that calculates LSI
Thanks for the positive Feedback. Not sure who is advising you but acid will not do much for any calcium build-up. I suggest contacting a local Bead Blast company. They are the guys who use high pressure and glass beads to remove calcium from your pool tile. They might be able to bead blast the entire pool when drained. If not they can also sand down the calcium on the plaster. But an acid wash will not remove any calcium deposits.
Jesus your a pool savior. Just bought a house with a pool and mine was in bad shape. (So I thought) Ended up paying $1000 to restore it. I was told by my neighbor I over paid By $500 It’s funny bcs We all want the nice house and having a pool feels like your royalty and have struck gold until you don’t know a thing a about maintenance for a pool.
Hello. I have green pool where do I start to get it blue. Is household colorox okay to start. Please send the procedure and items to purchase and apply. Thanks for great videos
Liquid chlorine form a local pool store is better. I have many green pool clean up videos including this one: ruclips.net/video/QLZtkyI9Jbg/видео.html
Thank you for taking your time to do this video.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, skills and experience👍🤝
I'm new to pool cleaning very helpful. I've been cleaning pools in florida for like 6 months now. I have a salt cell union I can't get off. It's vertical and I can't get the top one off any tips?
A large pair of channel locks will usually do it, but it may also crack the plumbing. So be careful.
God I wish my clients would watch this. Can't tell you how many times they say I have a leak on the pressure side of my equipment and it's sucking air. Lol. No clue how it works. Good video and very well explained. I install a ton of automation with apps and it honestly is to difficult for most people to comprehend. I sometimes regret installing them as I spend to much time with it.
Sub....you're a great guy for making this easy for me to learn.
Are you still making videos?
I just subscribed. I just got my CPO certificate and will be starting out. I wanted to get more tips to fill comfortable. These videos are very helpful.
Great vid', thanks. Is there a diagram anywhere that shows the positions of the pump valves (on/off) for vacuuming, backwash and rinse??
All the owner’s manuals are online now. Can find any pump with a search in a minute or two.
I been working at least 2 days a week in pooling, helping my brother out. I knew most of this. But it really help me understand it better.
You have earned a Subscriber :) I am starting a new maintenance job at a hotel tomorrow, that has a pool. Now I feel like I have some sort of understanding and its much less daunting.
Thanks! 😁
I learned I have to watch his other videos. Lol 😆 great content. Thanks.

Great stuff!! I’m hoping to get on your level one day! Keep up the great work!
I just bought your ebook thank you for that. I have a question about my pool. I can’t find any information about the valves and what way the go. Everyone I try to use the Manuel clean on my pump I move the valves and my spa drains. I need help I’m so damn lost lol.
Those can be challenging. If you email me some photos of the valves I can help. david@swimmingpoollearning.com. Thanks for buying the eBook!
Can baking soda be used to maintain a balance in the pool in place of the conditioner?
Negative. It needs to contain Cyunaric Acid to be effective.
In summer season water gets green faster so what precautions shall we take ,also Chlorine get evaporates fastly, so which disinfectant is good that is stable in pool.
The 3" tablets are good but you shouldn't over use them.
Thanks for the vids. I'm a new pool owner and your videos have been very helpful. Is your ebook still available and how much is it? Is it compatible with android tablets?
Yes it is and yes it is available here: www.swimmingpoollearning.com/swimming-pool-care-ebook
Planning a move to Cambodia when our daughter starts college a pool won't be top of our to do list but it will be once we're settled & I can only imagine there's not many pool guys there plus I'll be doing everything for ourselves so I'm very thankful for all the information you have given off to watch as many video's as possible... I don't think our daughter would come out to us till we had a pool, she's not a fan of very hot countries & when abroad lives in the pool...
Sounds like a plan. 👍
I wanna know how the piping works.
But I’m about to learn and save a ton
Very, very helpful! Thank you
Good video. I appreciate what you're doing. Going to go buy the ebook now.
Great tip for filling the pump basket!
Thankyou for all the info I'm starting a business and i owe majority of my knowledge to you from techniques on cleaning to chemical and ph level but this video is gold thanks again
Thanks for the great feedback!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I'm a new home owner with a pool and I'm gonna attempt to clean it myself, what chemicals you recommend to start with.
Just start with regular liquid chlorine and make sure the Conditioner level is at 30-50 ppm. Using the BBB Method is the easiest way to go.
Thank you
