When you travel, you may be able to buy souvenirs cheaper than in the country you live in, and if you're an international couple, there are foods you can't get in Australia. Everyone is free as long as they follow the rules.

My parents used to embarrass us all the time.
Aussie here. I lived in China for ten years and developed a taste for authentic Chinese food. In Australia you can buy almost any Chinese / Asian ingredient you need, easily and inexpensively.

It’s shocking how people believe they will get away with trafficking drugs. Never underestimate airport security!
You can’t be serious. You do realized that the consumption of drugs has drastically increased since that show aired, right? They didn’t even put a dent in it. It’s like taking a few buckets of water out of a flooded house and patting yourself on the back.

Because so much stuff does get through! When I worked at Logan airport in Boston TSA would miss 89 percent of contraband items during random tests. And that could be anything from guns, ammo, knives, grenades, drugs. Kind of scarry flying on an airplane with that knowledge.

If the "customer" indicated FRUIT & Crackers/cookies, the officer would just say- never is fruit allowed, take it to be destroyed & he'd be on his way. But his rant was over the top. He deserved a fine.
He was probably having a bad day, not that serious dude. He declared his food. He said he has brought the fruit 5 times already and never had issues. Misunderstandings happen.

It's crazy how it's a red flag to travel with no actual plans for customs. I travel a lot to many countries and I never have an actual plan. I'm a go with the flow kind of tourist. Maybe I should start making an itinerary from now on lol😅
Gee, many years ago, the 1970s 😱lol, I would have been in trouble. A work friend and I decided to fly, straight after work from Melbourne to Sydney for the night just for fun. We booked tickets a few days before. Flew up, walked around Sydney, stayed at the Hilton, seperate rooms. Caught plane home, I drove us straight back to Melbourne in time for work lol. That’d be suspicious today.

The argumentative traveller was playing up for the camera. If he had simply shut up and listened to the customs officer he would have been cleared and on his way within minutes. 🤷

Why do so many Australian customs/immigration agents not wear gloves while rummaging through people’s suitcases of dirty clothes or performing a frisk search? So gross and disgusting 🤮
Most of the western countries employ fake sense of security, which makes you feel safer but not actually safe. However, I have seen them wearing gloves in other videos.
Have you ever worn those gloves for extended periods of time? The skin becomes shredded.
@@centurione6489 I have been a medical professional for almost 4 decades and am very familiar with wearing gloves all the time. People take gloves off after a task is done and put on new gloves if what they are doing requires it. I have never seen a surgeon colleague not wear gloves when they operate on a patient and I have never witnessed a surgeon wearing the same pair of gloves the whole day while operating on different patients. You take them on and off as needed to not contaminate someone or something. Rummaging through dirty laundry or doing a frisk search without gloves is disgusting.

I know from this show, what to bring and what not to bring, i think every country should have a show like this. Did you know Australia has food. I don't understand all the food people pack. I understand you like certain foods, if people are that picky then they shouldn't go. People go on vacations to try new foods and customs, it's an experience. I have never been, but I'd love to go to this beautiful country, one day. So i have learned check what you can or can't bring so you are not finding yourself in trouble with a fine. By the way your fines are in my opinion too low in some cases.
Those are definitely ornamental swords. I've got much deadlier box cutters.
And it would be IMPOSSIBLE to grind those metal edges in to anything resembling a lethal weapon. Thank heavens.

The quarantine guy needs to keep his hands back. He’s not helping defuse the situation. Also you’ve got two guys not listening to each other.
You might want to find out who the past several immigration officers allowed the stone fruits in and put that on their records. Consistency is key.
How hard can it be to show one case from beginning until end. This switching is totally useless. You are also repeating what we already heard.

I am always amazed at the arrogance of many people regardless of their nationality. I have been overseas many times and I always find it a privilege to be allowed into another country and if they have different rules then that is their laws and I have no right to claim the rights of my country in another. It's a very simple concept.
A show that should be over in 5 min takes 30 min.
