"What is better 9mm or 45acp?" Oh my friend you just started a flame war.
Bigpapaj 1971
In all seriousness, the 5.7mm is better. Even lower recoil than 9mm, size allows for high capacity magazines, high velocity and better performance against body armour than 9mm or 45 ACP.
Digiquill 500 Fucking Magnum
A SIG in .40 s&w, so you can covert easily to .357 sig. Two amazing rounds that each are superior to the .45ACP and the 9mmp
naw man 10mm is the semi auto of choice if you can hang. More capacity and power up to .357 levels.
.40 S&W is best.

490 years in business... Almost a surreal number. Proves that the truth can be stranger than the fiction.
weakestlink20 How did they survive all the wars? I always get interested in this sort of companies.
Oreo Lane That I cannot accurately explain.
if you think 5 centuries and still in business is crazy, Japan has construction company since 578 AD named Kongō Gumi, and hotel named Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan founded in 705 AD. Britain has The Bingley Arms, dubbed "the oldest pub in Britain", founded in 900 AD.

I think it's funny, the story of some weapons in US inventory.
The FN Mag machine gun got beaten by the M60, but then came back to replace it.
Sig Sauer lost to Beretta in the 80s, but just recently, a variant of the 226 was chosen to replace the M9.
Well, I guess if at first you don't succeed...
And now Sig has both pistol contracts.
The P320 has little relationship to the P226. It's based on the P250 and it has a striker instead of a hammer, like a Glock.
If you think about it, even the M16 had a similar story. After the Korean War, the M14 was chosen instead of the ar10, the prototype of what later became the ar15(the M16 and later the M4), but the US Army quickly realized how poorly the M14 was performing in the jungles of Vietnam. So that's why they replaced their main battle rifle again, and this time the ar10 won.
The p320 isn't a variant of the 226. It's a completely different gun. Striker fired, polymer frame, made to be as modular as possible, NOT DROP SAFE. Wait, what?
Maxi From IT mostly the AR-15, the AR-10 would mostly just be for Civilian use while M14 was used for dmr.
"By 1990, the M1911 was starting to show its age"
"The M1911, the pistol that forgot to become obsolete"
How was it showing it's age before it was even designed.
Future Jarhead 3:25 no he said 1980, the guy just made a typo lol
I think what he meant was that the pistol started showing its age according to the chain of command in the US Army. They thought the pistol was no longer useful. But after the 1911 was replaced, it became more popular than ever in the civilian market which kept its stride going.
the m1911 wasn't top of the line anymore, but it was by no means obsolete quite yet, just not as good baretta
Old doesnt mean obsolete
Pistols don't win wars but they have started a few.
EDIT: Well this sure blew up but can people stop commenting the same thing? Yes I was referencing the assassination of Franz Ferdinand which kicked off WW1. You don't need to keep saying that when 30 other people have already said that before you.
yup
Well said. Well said.
Yea, flawless logic. Guns kill people, spoons make them fat.
what
I totally agree with that
The other reason Berettas are so popular in movies (besides the sexy shape and large frame) is because they are easier to convert to fire blanks: The action of the pistol uses a falling block instead of a tilting barrel, so you can modify the barrel to fire blanks with perfect semi-automatic reliability.
I didnt know that
"always on your side"
That is not a very italian thing.
Yup
LMAO
I know this joke refer to the world wars, but actually Italian army is the ninth strongest army in the world and, Beretta is one of the most productive gun brands in the world. Our army is divided in 4 major groups that you may have already heard about: 1) 9° reggimento d'assalto paracadutisti "col moschin" (or maybe you've heard Folgore)
2) Gruppo Operativo Incursori
3) 17° Stormo Incursori
4) Gruppo intervento speciale
Folgore is really well known in Europe, its name literally mean thunderbolt and as you can imagine they're a paratrooper group.
Better the American Strategy: Propaganda and friendly fire, mate.

Being a proud owner of a 92, I can tell you that these guns are fantastic. I got the 92S, which was an Italian police de-com, but even without the changes made to the FS, it's solid to its core. Shoots the worst steel cased ammo all day long and its accurate til it dies. If you get a used 92S you'll only have to spend about $350 at the highest (as of the time of writing this) and there is basically no better deal out there as far as price/quality.

Why are CoD's M9's always so little and thin?
It is a narrow pistol in reality as well. The wider pistols tend to be chambered for the .45 as it requires a larger barrel
***** Compared to other 9mm pistols its pretty thick.
CoD has issues with weapon scaling. First-person pistol models are usually much too small (that, or the player character has hands the size of frying pans) and third-person rifle models somewhat on the small side as well, particularly for medium-size assault rifles.
***** Common misconception! When you get one in your hands, they actually feel pretty beefy.
***** I own a 92FS airsoft and it's not as narrow as in the MW games. The one from Ghosts looks more like the real one
Sad that people say it's a bad firearm. I always liked the way it looks.
I would say its because of Italian since world war two they preety much just lost any prestige and basically lost there son of rome point of view
The beretta92 is totally not a bad gun, its great looking, have a really good capacity and it's really reliable, also it has a normal barrel so the shots are more accurate than a cz (for example) with a short barrel.
You guys are gonna love the Sword Cutlass pistols.
Well here in the US, the reason why the M9 was hated was due to the military using mags that didn’t have a finish for sand resistance, not cleaning the gun, & also not maintaining the gun. The commercial Beretta 92s/92a1s are better than the US issued ones due to law abiding citizens using them & cleaning & maintaining them.
It's not my favorite, but damn does it look good in DOOM
As far as the 9mm vs 45 debate is concerned, I'll quote a famous fictional Beretta 92 user: "If you can hit your target, pretty much any gun will do."

Distinctly remember this being my most used weapon on BF4. I cycled through primary weapons in short bursts, but the M9 was always the best sidearm imo.
The M9 was the first gun I bought back in 2000 when I was 20 and I was moving into my own apartment, I liked the tagline:
"When your locks fail, it's trigger WON'T. The M9, army approved".
I have a M9 and a Mossberg 590 A1 as my home defence guns, never had to use them for that role and hopefully never will but it's nice to have them just in case. Great video as always Ahoy and I'm loving your new 'Iconic Arms' series :)

I have to admit, the M9 or Beretta 92 is one of the many classic pistols known to the world, both in movies, gaming, and reality. I remember me, my brothers, my father, and my cousins tried out the M9 since one of them had it as a sidearm in the police force after dove hunting. We saw these empty beer bottles, so we decided to use them as target practice. Finally, I got to try out the pistol and...man it had a lot of recoil. I was definitely astounded how much power the M9 has in real life instead of in gaming.
Thats with every weapon, you cant make out how a weapon is out of games.
Yeah, that's true :/
Well its only a 9mm it shouldn't have too much kick but every gun is different and also I've never shot a m9 maybe its different than most other 9mm
Well, I think the reason why I thought the M9 had so much recoil is the fact I was fourteen-years old at the time I tried out the pistol. So, basically, I wasn't as sturdy as an usual-sized adult.
Yeah that makes since
The Beretta M9 / 92 / 92FS series will always be my favorite 9mm handgun I love the gun it’s because resident evil remake I’m here because of this gun in my opinion, the Beretta, it’s easy, one of my favorite handguns next to 1911 45 ACP with longer Beavertail

Like a "Top Gear" but for guns
While I think the switch from .45 to 9mm wasn't a bad thing, the M9 as the particular choice for a sidearm did irk me a little. In a normal urban environment, it'd work fine, but in very dusty environments, the open top slide really could prove a problem. I love the M9, don't get me wrong, it's just that I believe a 9mm Glock or even a 9mm 1911 would've made the difference
9mm is a tier higher is terms of penetration too. There's a reason why there's no such thing as a true .45 Armor Piercing cartridge while there's many for the 9mm. .45 is too fat and it's effective range way too short.
The open top design helps it clear debris during cycling.
however over-penetration proves a big problem in terms of Home Defense
Robot Rock Yeah i like .45 more for personal defense, since your average home invader is going to come prepped for a firefight

I think the best publicity the Beretta 92 ever got was from the Lethal Weapon movies, where Mel Gibson's character carries one and uses it bringing down the bad guys. It's even mentioned in the Osprey booklet on the Beretta 92.

Loss in stopping power? Yeah...basic physics is not something that the .45ACP proponents care much about.
And, the guns carried by Tequila, among others, in Hard Boiled, are almost to a scene Taurus PT92s, though the boat scene does feature a Beretta.
+MoonEyes2k PT-92's are literally Beretta 92's, made on Beretta machines, with Taurus markings and cheaper materials. Bit unfortunate really. It isn't really worth noting, or worth skipping given the influence of John Woo's films.
