Lightweight which is good for cornering speed, power to weight ratio, reliable, cheap but good quality aftermarket parts, and ofc, good old 8 - 9k screamer 4cyl VTEC!! (Especially the full Spoon Sports kit which is my dream build someday)

This civic shown is fun as absolute hell to drive, literally amazing to whip around corners at high and low speeds, and when you hit vtec, its a whole new feeling. Great video none the less 👍

The EK9 is sooo much lighter and smaller than the S15. I demand a much more comparable dogfight between ff & fr. Similar wheelbase and P2W ratios please. Esp on the Downhill.

This is the real reason why I love to see those FWD cars beat against the RWD and AWD cars, because in my opinion, FWD cars are way more challenging than RWD or AWD cars. Anyways nice video and your runs
@@drift400 Not when you step off the throttle mid-corner, you get the reverse pendulum effect then! But yeah, especially with a good helical LSD, you press the throttle mid-corner and the FWD car closes its angle towards the apex, so it's great.
Well while they are agile, they’re not really easy on tires by any means, the front wheels do all of the work; accelerating, steering, and braking. This of course means the tires will lose grip faster than RWD would.
FR cars, especially the Civic, tend to get made fun of nowadays. Even I used to talk mad shit about them. But after actually getting to know how an FF works and how it really performs, I began to like the Civic more than a lot of FR and AWD cars. Civics are some of the unsung heroes of popular JDM cars.
I would love to see this video redone but with one generation back: Honda EG6 Civic SiR Hatchback vs Nissan S14 Silvia to match the current video’s Honda EK9 Civic Hatchback vs Nissan S15 Silvia.

Didn't really get it until I ordered some phones from Japan. tl;dr: it's not just Shoji's idea of a bad time, it's literally a bad time from and Eastern audience's perspective. The phones were listed as Grade C = badly damaged, with scratches. Got the phones. Apart from back-panel cosmetic issues, the devices were 100% functional and in excellent condition. Got me thinking and finally understanding the Japanese mindset: if said thing is 100% absolutely perfect = ok/standard. If said thing is over 100% = ideal/perfect. If said thing is at 99% = disposable/damaged/very bad.
That is why I run mostly FWD cars. You can put the power down so much earlier and the faster turn in is very rewarding, there also isn't any risk of spinning out. I'm not nearly as fast as the author of this video though

What makes fwd challenging? To me it’s the safest to drive fast as throttle stabilizes the car
I wouldn't say the EK9 is challenging because it hasn't got enough power and torque. Plus, everything is solved with a nicely adjusted helical LSD! 😎🤘
