A very dangerous car for even the mechanics themselves. Big wings, wide tires, a 4-speed instead of the slightly-less-reliable 5-speed, all the things to make it controllable, but didn't work. Releasing the pedal away and the car drops its power faster than Ferrari dropping its championship in 2022, and one of the main reasons that causes multiple fatal accidents. A double edged sword, however, as the momentum is rear-based, meaning that you can conserve the front tires from fading, again, an issue that costed Ryosuke and Takeshi a win.

That actually did happen couple of times in the Wangan Midnight manga. Not quite a literal crossover but still, close enough. There's at one arc where there's a monster touge racer call Oki with his lime green widebody FD3S with 500hp that dominates the Hakone touge but then Akio somehow went towards the pass in the Devil Z in search of the Kijima's FC. (It wasn't shown in the anime but it was the manga plot) Oki thought it was a new kid on the block and decided to challenge it, only for Akio to leave him in the dust. He caught up to Akio at the next midway rest stop and asked about Akio's car and about his driving style. Impressed by what he heard, Oki decided to leave Hakone and went down to Yokohama and ran on the C1 loop. Initially beating quite a few racers till, again, he met another legend, Blackbird and Shima himself where once again, he got smashed hard. After one final race between him, Tatsuya and Akio on the C1 again and losing completely to the both of them, he felt he had enough and returned to the touge at Hakone but feeling satisfied. That's the best that we had of a semi-crossover. However, there is cameo of Initial D stuff in the anime tho but it's VEEERY subtle. Sort of like an easter egg.
Never thought an FL5 Type R could dance on touge that well despite on its heavy weight!! I wonder if it could also do that in real life!! Anyways, I'm really excited for this new platform especially its aftermarket supports like Spoon Sports and Mugen!! I want to see this thing in its more refined form!!
That's some master level camera works right there, it felt just as exciting to watch like the anime shots, even without the exaggeratedly long corners they used in the shows.

Put the right driver in a 930 and it's not going to lose to much. Hell, the first gen 930's still punch well above their horsepower, that boost curve is something else.
Blackbird is just a monster machine. Heck it even dominated C1 that RGO's test driver was literally shaking and admired it when it got smashed by that thing on the C1 track. 600hp on the touge isn't a smooth thing to drive even and yet it managed to.
Yamanaka isnt really a racer, dunno why RGO would sent him out instead of hiring a actual racer to drive that 800hp plus R33 against that 911 with the almost exact power during that race
This is a less powerful version. This is still the 930 Blackbird so it produces 516 horsepower at full boost. Shima had a Twin Turbo 600hp 964 when he raced the R33.
That new Type R looks so bulky and uncomfortable through those turns. Nothing like the smaller, TWO door, TWO seater cars of Japan's automotive glory days. Is it really too much for modern car manufacturers to make a cheap(UNDER $20K NEW), reliable, LIGHTWEIGHT sports car? Even the small cars of today are bigger than many mid-sized cars of the past.
Man i love civics (i own 2 ) but there was no way it was gonna win agains the porsche... However i do think it could have been driven a bit more agressively then again i did not try that mod for myself so im not sure how that one handles then again one way or the other it would have lost at the tunnel straight

That actually did happen couple of times in the Wangan Midnight manga. Not quite a literal crossover but still, close enough.
There's at one arc where there's a monster touge racer call Oki with his lime green widebody FD3S with 500hp that dominates the Hakone touge but then Akio somehow went towards the pass in the Devil Z in search of the Kijima's FC. (It wasn't shown in the anime but it was the manga plot)
