They might have moved them so they were closer to a house, so that they could check up on them easier.

If the weather is cold the calves are better off sheltered in a barn until they dry off and have fed well. They could get hypothermic if left out in the open under those conditions. Once they are dry, running around and have had lunch they can go back outside and deal with it.

Jonathan sometimes it's necessary to separate them momentarily in order to move the calf to a warm safe place or vaccinate it. Some mother cows will hurt you if you bother her baby

I have never had a cow hurt me even in one of are bigger ranches. My dad tought me when I was 5 to always grab that baby. and get down and keep the calf between you and the mother the whole time.. A cow will never hit its baby.

thedrloboski stevens I think what you meant to say is your Dad told you! Not sure how many cows your dad calved or what kind? Barnyard cows maybe but range cows? Well go ahead and test that theory through a calving season and let me know how that went? Besides a that certain cow doesn’t even have to touch her calf to knock you down. As far as the safe contraption goes? Neat IdeA BUT I think Ill take the hookn’ rather then waste the time and energy that I more than likely ran out of 2 weeks prior!

Rwizaify I would be.one.of those individuals. Mama pig.tore my husband's pants from his nono.button to.ankles on both sides in under.10.seconds n took a chunk out of his butt. Mamas w babies are.scary
