Look at the 50. its painted gold for the 50th superbowl. We didnt know that until midnight the ngiht before quarter finals. These videos get made with shots taken from all 3 nights so we had to have our admin go find gold paint at 1 am and fix those 10s. lmao.
I've heard symphony no. 10 in e minor so many times in the texas marching band season it's gotten so old to me at this point... but the cadets make it sound so good
I so agree with this comment. It’s frustrating that directors keep buying into the standard Shostakovich state year show that his music is just formulaic now... Fire of eternal glory, symphonies 5 & 10, Festive Overture
I may be remembering wrong, but it’s probably way more prevalent for schools in state years where I mostly keep up with the Texas BOA scene and most of the big guns that I don’t actually hear it that often, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it does feel overplayed
Sadly, I gotta agree. My son marched this and the corp was really excited about the uniform change because it was hyped by the staff. I didn't have the heart to tell him how much the black uniforms hurt the show. I'm not certain it would've guaranteed first place if they kept the originals, but they definitely would've placed higher.
This was for sure a year that they were robbed placement wise. Was a great show, Great design, Great hornline, Drumline. Guard was not good, but Kristy Templin was about as bad as you can get as a caption head and was only there because she was dating the director. The guard hurt the GE which is why they finished 4th, but I still think they were better than Blue Coats at semis and finals and it should have been a Bronze easily.
+Hunter I remember their performance felt deflated that night, but I was on the left side 15 yard line so who am I kidding haha! I loved their show at finals to no end though.
+MelloMan14 We still use right foot lead! When there are weird time signatures there will be some left foot step-offs or left foots on down beats. If you look at the first step off around 0:24 you will see that it is right foot.
Bluecoats general effect, drill, show design, brass line and guard all better than this. I'll give them better drums and pit perhaps, but this show was boring, and uninspired. I honestly did not get an emotional connection to this show on the second run through.
@@danielcongleton2878 everything you said is an opinion but go off... just because YOU do not get an emotional connection to a show doesn't mean it deserves less.
@@l-3364 an opinion, yes. Backed up by the the judges, yes. The only memorable part of this show was ripped off the blast show, and they didn't even do it as well as them.
@@l-3364 ok fine, here's a different angle for you. The cadets haven't had a good show since 2014, and this show was the start of a slip in the program's prestige, and between the scandal and the type of shows, the cadets aren't holding up their side of the deal on being an elite corps. They are having the same problem as the scouts of being stuck in a previous generation, with the lack of direction to move forward.
Wow, This hornline is playing shots and long tones, the pit is carrying the melodic interest. Can we not play the music on the initial instrument that is the vehicle?
Rest in peace Cadets. You will be missed.
Sad we'll never hear that quintessential Cadets sound ever again.
AND you can't forget the 10 snares
everyones talking about the ten in the closer drill but noones talking about the fact that all the field numbers are "10"

I love the quick change in texture just by adding the woodblock at 0:56
This is my favorite Cadets Show! what a hornline! I wish I got to see this one live.
Yaaaassss shostakovich 😍
I was looking forward to the French horn feature :(
same 😭😭
same 😭😭
That is what won them the Ott. Ink was the best win ever for BD. I thought Cadets should have placed much higher like 2nd
Definitely my favorite cadet show
Keep in mind they beat Crown for the Ott that year.
And they deserved it too
Josiah Courtney absolutely. That book was insane.
I think they would’ve won it all had they not changed their uniforms. But my god, that hornline was on fire.

cedar ridge 2022 moment
Someone needs to buy the BluRay and post the french horn feature.
ITS BEEN SO LONG DCI. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOUUU
No doubt in my mind this would have won if they had kept the original uniforms. The blackout killed so much of their visual.

Uh no. This was not going to beat BD or Crown.
@@cliffp391 was doing so for a good amount of the season up until the uni change
@Cliff P early season they were regularly beating crown and BD.
Thaaaaaaaaaat's a lot of snares
+Luke Shaffer 10 to be exact.

3 years later and can 100% confirm she is terrible and was only there because of Hopkins and her dad.
Uh, no. They rightfully placed where they should have.
I remember seeing this at NightBEAT. Amazing show

When did they switch to left-foot-first technique? I honestly liked how unique the right-foot-first technique was.

Oh I see now, sorry haha
The twilight of the Cadets
they will be back!
@@georgedixon9863 well
This is the most recent time the cadets were in the top 5, will they return?
Thank you DCI for putting music!!!
Holy Name
The best uniforms Cadets has ever worn.
They also only used 10 yards for the ballad
Theres just no way kinetic noise beat this in any capacity. This show deserves b r o n z e

Lauren wrote that Sabre work 😍
Anyone notice that rifle mess up at 0:20. It's the girl in the row of 2 on the right side
thats a snareline
Percussion needs more embrasure

+1 Jim Ott later I think they knew what they were doing
Hey look our trumpets can play really fast
Only while standing still lol
1:04
A big let down honesty
How so? The performance itself, or the segment they used?
+Nicholas Brister probably the segment, although ANY part of this awesome show would have been worthy of a spotlight :D
