Had a friend (he's gone now) who marched mellophone for Troopers that season. He told me about that tape & how every year they play it for the corps. I'm glad to finally hear it for myself. Life long Troopers fan.
God I love this tape so much! I’m so proud I got to play Ecstasy of Gold for my rookie season in 22’ and made the long blue line proud! The 79’ Troopers spirit pushed us over the line, hearing this tape made me proud to be a Trooper, it made me want to repeat history again to make them proud! >”
@@VivaVenezuelaa There's a lot of minor differences between these uniforms and the 00-09 uniforms, so I prefer the slightly more ornate 196x-1987 uniforms.
First time I saw the, Casper Troopers, is when they came East, I believe in New Jersey? Anyway I was with, Steve boglino, play French horn with the golden eagles from Brooklyn and Long Island sunrises, he's in the Drum Corps Hall of Fame. We could not believe what we witnessing, at that time it was the most exciting, drum and bugle c o r p s that I ever witnessed both Steve and myself would jumping up and down both former members of the golden eagles and the sunrises, Floyd Bennett, 1960, 1961, sunrises, 1964 through 1968. Thank you for posting this clip. Great great memories. We no longer have real drum and bugle Corps. May they rest in peace.
I was there in Birmingham. Interesting reflecting upon a great number of facts concerning Dave Richards, people we knew in common, and topped off by Ecstasy in Gold/Ghost Riders - and a sunburst.
I agree 100%. Old School drama vehicle course many standing ovations throughout, most of the drum and bugle Corps. It was a real drum and bugle Corps, not a marching band, superimposed on a three-ring circus. DCI has price the activity out of business. Average person can no longer be any activity due to their course going through the roof, once was the largest youth activity in North America. Today it no longer exists, thanks dci, in my opinion
This guy experienced that amazing and intangible thing that D&BC had, that made Drum & Bugle Corps what it was, and it is completely gone now. At least, from my perspective, it is. Pray up.
@@ardyjeen6144 I agree with you 100% period in my opinion DCI is the reason for the demise of what was one of the greatest youth activities in North America. They turned it into a marching band competition, superimposed on a three-ring circus, and they priced many organizations out of business.

anyone saying that this only happened during old drum corps needs to watch the GE judge Carolina Crown 2013
Also, music GE for Cavies 2002 is pretty good, too! He sounds like he starts tearing up at one point.
@@MinkyBoodle44 ill need to check that out
The PR 2010 drum tape is also a great example. He goes crazy over the basses a lot and ends up crying in the end

I love the original Jim Jones-era Troopers uniforms, both the horns and guard.

@@MicahtheDrumCorpsPseudoboomer i don't know man whatever you say but the uniforms this year were straight fire
Troopers got 12th, but Richards put them in 5th, tied with Scouts and even above the 3rd place overall SCV. Listening back, it's hard to disagree :)
That's Bullshit..they sounded horrible 😮
Is so satisfying to see the CG on point!

This kind of enthusiasm is less common most likely. Need to bring it back.
