Woo! Great to see you back and playing for QC in the Scotties. I learned curling from my club and your YT vids so please add more, thanks and good luck with QC
I did get to try curling once. It is a lot harder than people think. I referred a few people to your videos because they were having a hard time with balance. Glad you're making videos again. If that's the chapel you were renovating, it looks good.
Awesome, you're back with more! Your past videos were my go-to resources for learning advanced skills and still are some of the best out there for those looking to progress their skills!
Really glad that you're back! Great video, I'll definitely try it next practice although it will be challenging because I don't know if I'm flexible enough to put the broom on the ice in front. Also, glad that you were declared eligible for this year's Scotties. Good luck next week, you girls have a team that can definitely cause some surprises!
I think you do a fantastic job in your videos of breaking down complex ideas into very basic ones (great for my simple brain). These balance tips are easy to follow. Will be using them next time on the ice. Thanks - Wine Country Curling Club.
This is almost a blast from the past....good to see you posting again Jamie. And indeed nice that you are at the Scotties...got to see your skip up close playing some nice shots when I was coaching our BE mixed team at the Worlds in Aberdeen - small (curling) world eh? How did you end up playing for Quebec? And some suggestions to take the balance exercises further | stage 4 - same as stage 3 but without the broom | stage 5 same as stage 4 but have a training partner walk along side you when you are walking and let them throw soft balls or hackey sacks at you that you need to catch.....
Glad to see you back! I started curling this year and will be competing in my first bonspiel in a month! Since I don't have access to curling dedicated ice, what are some drills I can do to improve my skills or strengthen my body off the ice?
Great question! I definitely recommend going into the slide position on the floor. Use a stability ball if you have one. Try to engage your leg muscles, keep your back knee off the ground and maybe get someone to throw a ball at you to catch or something to work on that balance.
thanks for the balance video. Can you do a video on how to walk/slide with your slider? I can’t seem to figure out how to slide around the ice. I used a crutch to deliver, so can’t use a broom as my 3rd leg.
Hi Jamie! New Curler here! Do you recommend using a stabilizer until we get our balance and form stronger before transitioning to the broom? I've been using the broom but my knee is wanting to come down on the ice and my balance isn't strong enough yet to hold it all together.
Stabilizer is a great tool to use. It allows you to feel what the proper slider should be like. Theres no huge disadvantage to using it, so if thats makes you feel more comfortable, go for it!
Thanks, Jamie. I've been a fan for a while, fellow dual Cit in Navan. I'm a rookie this year looking forward to this season of learning. Was it an adjustment for you to be a second at the scotties?
Thanks so much for following. It was. Its crazy how the game can look so different from another perspective on the ice. But ive really enjoyed learning new parts of the sport!
Woo! Good to see you back here
Good to be back! Thank you!

Well done! 👍 🥌You're a good teacher. There are many aspects of curling; more than meets the eye 👀
Totally agree!
Great to see you back and looking forward to seeing you at the Scotties. I was looking forward to see what stage four was :)
Thanks for following along!

Fun idea but I missed stage 4. Nice to see you curling for Canada again. Good luck Team Quebec!

I grew up in Quebec so thats my connection there.

Terrific tips. Never heard of these techniques. Great to see you again. Unfortunately, I'm not well balanced. I have to use a stick at my old age😢
Stick curling is still great! Glad to hear youre still playing!
Can you please do a video on how to slide with a crutch with steps?
Great idea!
Deja Vu. I just finished watching you at the Scotties. Welcome
Thank you!
is the 4th stage sliding without a broom?
It could be! Same idea as the 3rd stage with nothing touching the ice!
5th stage is blindfolded 😂
Hahah that would be fun to try!
Are you gonna tell us what you've been up to while you've been gone? Miss you & your posts.
Oh nothing too interesting! Just curling and working these days haha
Step 3 will surely break my shoulder after falling but it's okay, I got a second one, no biggie.
Hahah even if you don’t make it to step 3, by doing the other steps your balance will improve!
Nice to see you back. 👍🥌
