This was helpful and a good workout. First time since I've had the crossropes of doing a jump rope only workout so helped me see that I could get almost 600 cals burned in 50 mins. One minor frustration was not being able to switch my ropes as fast as you and the short notice so there were quite a few times where you'd be almost done with the next set when I was just finally getting my ropes switched... Hey guys, im starting new with jump rope and im making my research to know what kind of rope should i get. I realised that heavy rope might be the most effective choice. However, i found 2 kinds of heavy rope: 1- you change the ropes (weighted ropes) 2- you change the weight of the handles (weighted handles) Which one do you recommend and what is the difference?
Weighted ropes are the way to go! Having the weights in just the handles isn't working your upper body/shoulders/chest/back/core like a fully weighted rope does (think of the centrifugal force of a heavy rope swinging around). Grab the best ones around here www.crossrope.com/jumpropedudes
Try to always engage your core while jumping (like if someone was to punch you, keep it tight). Here's a run in place tutorial for you ruclips.net/video/7XndvyHv3w8/видео.html
Yo JRD... I’ve been watching some RUclips vids (see Dr Jason Fung) where essentially he is saying caloric deficits (or eat less move more) doesn’t work, at least not in a sustainable way for weight loss and he is big advocate of fasting and lowering insulin levels. As you guys have lost quite a bit of weight and also managed to maintain your new weight and even further improve I thought you would be well placed to address this. To me fasting is a great tool which can aid weight loss along with many other benefits but reality says that your body has to be in a caloric deficit in order to lose weight regardless of any fasting and it also seems to me that one can maintain this weight loss as long as they do not go back to their old habits and eat too much and continue to be active. What are your thoughts on this subject? Cheers guys.
Hey dude! With any diet or lifestyle, you'd have to maintain a bit of restraint in order to be successful long term. We always encourage you to find what works best for you! For us, that means staying in a deficit, but also enjoying ourselves a bit. Life is all about balance!
Jump Rope Dudes as expected....sage advice from the Jump Rope Dudes. Thanks ! I think it’s easy to get wrapped up in the various methodologies and opinions so it really is about finding what works for the individual.
Hi, Couple questions... 1. Do you hold your core in during the skipping? 2. How do you swap jumping steps without stopping?
I have hit a bit of a plateau over the past 10 days but I think ultimately my plan is working and I’m enjoying it. Love the ropes !
