Calm, collected and straight to the point. This is a golden nugget. Planning to build my own homeserver and just wanted to do a quick test on a virtual box on my home pc to see what I would like to have so I know what hardware I should go for. I hope you continue doing some more advanced videos in the future!
If you want ALL the (DHCP) devices on your network to use pihole, set the primary DNS server to be your server in the DHCP settings on your router. Then when your PC or phone or TV goes to get an IP from your router, it also gets the pihole address set by default for DNS lookups
out of all the videos (probably 20+) on starting a new home server for the first time this is by far the best one yet. i have been able to follow along flawlessly! thank you sir!
how to mount remote-samba-shares over network to use as storage with CasaOS ? eg, similar to USB drives i'm thinking of mounting my samba shares(drives), Goal is to use easily those shares with all docker containers(sonarr, radarr, etc) running on top of CasaOS whereas drives remain on same old i386 linux pc. The raspberry pi4 is used just for apps(jellyfin, plex, etc) because of all-welcomed architecture and low power consumption.Currently i have fstab entry in raspbian pointing to storage-i386-pc hosted samba share. just getting confused with casaos-docker-containers unable to see samba-shares that are visible to raspbian. Any idea ? tips?
Okay I'm new to this home lab stuff. What I know about computers started 25 years ago. When it was Pentium ones Pentium twos lol. Anyway Linux is all new to me. Have a question I have loaded true NAS on my DIY server found out that true Nance was too complicated for a beginner. So I switched over to Ubuntu, and I'm attempting to install jellyfan just to get this server build with all my movies on it up and going. The problem I'm having seems to be other than navigating the whole Linux thing, linking my Dell Wise 5070 to this massive server I built with nothing else on it except for now Ubuntu trying to get it to recognize the drives or hell even just connect to it get somebody point me to a video that shows me how to link my Ubuntu server to my Dell Ubuntu casa? Cuz I don't know if I need to put jellyfish in on that former truneas now Ubuntu server just for the Dell to see my DIY server or should it just be able to find it? I go into the IP address and am I supposed to initiate share folders on both ends or have the same programs on both systems? Noob needs help lol
But how do I put the VPN ONTO my CasaOs device? I bought a VPS in Dallas, set it all up, installed it as a client on phone and windows, but how on the CasaOs home server?
with this tutorial you dont need to buy a VPN. Download wire guard for casaOS on the casaOS store. Download the wire guard app on your phone through the app or play store. Im not sure if the VPN you bought is compatible with wire guard.
hello, for configuring the VPN server. I have 2 routers main and secondary, the secondaty is connected to the main, and casa os pc is connected to the secondary, so its much more complicated to me , do i need to enable port fordwarding on both routers? and for some reason my wireguard port is 51281 not with 0 at the end
The VPN doesnt work for me somehow. Do you know where the problem could be. I followed the tutorial probably like 5 times. Im probably confused what to do with DuckDNS
im not sure but make sure you follow the steps to setup the DuckDNS script as outlined on their website. I believe the script editor is vi and uses commands ":q", ":w", ":wq" along with others to quit, write and quit/write respectively.

My ISP provide us with CGNAT so ipv4 with wireguard is not possible without purchasing Static IP address. Is there any way to configure it with IPV6 ?
I think you should move forward with ASMR.
Thank you! i've never heard that before lol
@@BinaryByterthink they mean to say; you should boost the mic output and add an noise gate

you have torun the commands, but dont use vim, it sucks, use nano to create the file
Recomendável fazer isso em um Raspberry Pi5?
Either 4 or 5 for the pihole would be ideal. You can probably run on older ones but you'll have limited network speeds.
you sound like your on drugs but good instructions, thanks
You sound like you've never taken drugs
6:06 how do I disable Ubuntu from using port 53?
