It disturbed me even more because I knew the experience of envisioning your own death as he described and I Do Not Recommend It
@@anagomes9911 Dude, when I first heard the track, I was struggling with suicidal thoughts myself, and when I heard the whisper “He couldn’t believe how easy it was. He put the gun up to his face. Bang.” it felt like he was talking directly to me. I straight up had a full on panic attack. No other song has ever done anything like that.
Delirium Cordia by Fantômas is very disturbing. It's about a patient undergoing surgery who's given inefficient anesthesia and slips in and out of awareness. If you give it a listen make sure to wear headphones, it's a full on horror ASMR experience. Also it's 74 minutes long.
Not sure if this would be as creepy or disturbing as some of the others on the list, but Rebellion by Britney Spears did catch me off guard. It was one of her unreleased songs, so it not really as well known. The song is way more creepier than most of her released songs, and pretty much exposes the music industry she worked for, and her record label wouldn't let her release it for that very reason.
I don’t know if she’s on the iceberg, but Nicole Dollanganger should definitely be here. Not only does she sort of romanticize the topics that she sings in her songs (EDs, abuse, r*pe, etc), but it’s just even creepier with her sweet like voice. While mentioning her isn’t that much of a trigger for me, it’s her music that will make me go into a full blown panic attack. I genuinely do not recommend listening to her music if you’re not in the right mindset. I won’t be listing any of her songs, since there’s a lot that are just really uncomfortable both to name AND listen to. I’m only mentioning her for the sake of the iceberg.
Just dipped my toe in some of her work, I much prefer her style over the overly edgy hard rock songs that get their topics from a dart board. Her songs are so beautifully haunting and leave such a larger effect than the disturbing rock songs that take the spotlight because these songs feel real.
I really like Nicole's work, but I can't listen to her work very often without being put in an extremely dark place. "Creek Blues" off of Observatory Mansions, in particular, is absolutely harrowing.
the disturbing thing in aphex twins milk man is the beginning, i think its from a book but its distorted. it describes some really grotesque sexual acts before going into the actual milk man song
I really appreciate that you go over each song but also voice being uncomfortable. So many people reviewing these songs act like they're so tough and that if you get disturbed by one of these songs you're a wuss. I think the whole point to music is to induce feelings in the listener so if one acts desensitized it's hard to take ones opinion seriously since they are not truly feeling what is attempting to be conveyed. Fantastic video !
As an Austrian I would put "Falco - Jeanny" in the top layer of the iceberg. Not too disturbing, but it caused quite the controversy when it came out. This song always comes up when talking about Falco. Also when it comes to a dreadful sound I think "Mirror Reaper" by Bellwitch is quite nice. The choice of using heavily distorted organ instead of guitar is really cool.
Huh? Usually when talking about Falco, Rock Me Amadeus comes up. That's the only time I've ever heard anyone mention him, and I'm a huge fan of that song. I'll have to check the one you mentioned out though
I revisit this video a lot! I watched it a bunch in the eighth grade and went out of my way to listen to every single song on here, which led me to discovering some of my absolute favorite artists of all time:) Just thought I'd share, and I hope you're doing well!!
Hey, nice vid. Even though I’m a wimp when it comes to anything remotely scary I love learning about dark art. Also, I decided to check out the Show Me The Body and Eartheater song you were confused about. I can now assure you that the “woman screaming” is Eartheater and it’s just vocals for the song. If you look up the lyrics for this song you will see what is being “said”. Thought it might help
@@luvrsara yeah same If I were to put anything by mcr on here it would probably be something from ibymbybmyl. I personally would say Demolition Lovers, This Is The Best Day Ever, or Early Sunsets Over Monroeville
"Girlfriend in a Coma" by The Smiths is pretty disturbing to me. It's literally about Morrissey contemplating whether or not he should off his gf in order to end her suffering. "Dance With the Devil" by Immortal Technique is quite disturbing as well. Pretty self explanatory...Surprised that's not on here. Justin Nozuka's, "Save Him" is another obscure disturbing song that no one talks about. It's a true story about how Nozuka's step brother's abusive POS birth dad killed his mom and then himself.
Girlfriend in a coma is fantastic despite its very unnerving subject matter haha. Dance with the devil definitely shook me the first time I heard it. Never heard of the last one you mentioned tho
@@deadpanduke19 If you can stomach it, I say give it a listen. Nozuka's smooth and impressive vocals almost make you forget how disturbing the song is lol
A song i found quite disturbing is ‘The Mariners Revenge’ by The Decemberists The whole concept of it is a guy searching for a man who left his widowed mother after his gambling addiction causing them to lose their home and his mother to lose her mind On her death bed she tells her son to find the man and torture him. So he goes on a journey. And he found the mans whereabouts by ovehearing he was known for wanton cruelty, and the next day he goes to sea with a privateer After over a year at sea, he finds the man and as he prepared to shoot the man, both ships were taken down and consumed by a whale. Almost everyone except the two died And then he proceeds to kill the man. And this is all told in a way the main character is retelling the story toward the man
For clarification on the show me the body track the intervals of distorted screaming and screeches were done by fellow mucisian and collaborator eartheater!! Im sure they put her in a booth and just asked her tp go nuts. Just so you can sleep a little better at night.
Loving how everyone in the comments is talking about Korn xD A song I definitely recommend would be “Bullet” by HollyWood undead, basically it’s a happy sounding song but it’s a suicide note I fucking LOVE Hollywood undead so check em out of you like loud, riot, party-ish stuff
I’ve got a suggestion: One Way or Another by Blondie? At first glance, it’s another one of those catchy 70’s rock songs, but when you pay attention to the lyrics, it gets pretty disturbing. (not sure if this was on the list or not)
I want to be stalked by Debbie Harry tho that’s the thing, I wouldn’t mind if she was on the hunt for me, I’m all hers Jesus I’m fucking down outstandingly
Do You Doubt Me Traitor by Lingua Ignota is about a rape victim seeking revenge against their rapist, one of the most harrowing songs I've ever heard. plus the fact the song is based on lingua's own experience with assault.
Concubine's probably on here due to the sound. Earlier Converge had these tortured and painful screams combined with their extreme mathcore sound, and the album Jane Doe is a perfect example of chaotic hardcore. It's a revolutionary album, and if you can enjoy metal in a very raw and chaotic manner, it's absolutely mind blowing. Also, fun fact, one of the members was invited to give a talk at Berklee about the creation of the album because of how much one of the professors loved it. It's a metal album music nerds who don't like metal geek out over.
After seeing the list, I'm surprised that White Oak Doors by Defeater didn't come up. I saw it recommended on a hot Reddit thread for disturbing music and I was hooked by the person's description of it with just how absolutely dark it is, even for me and this is the type of thing I live for. It's a haunting, violent auditory experience. Also, since Swans showed up, I'd want to nominate Stay Here from their first album. My favorite description of it that I've heard is that it sounds like being beaten to death with a rusty shovel. It's so oddly specific that it's kind of funny with how it fits.
Regarding that Aileen Wuornos song: Pretty much all killers, people who r word’s and like dictators and such (with some exceptions probably) have difficult upbringings or unfortunate series of events happen in their youth. It doesn’t excuse their actions as some people who had difficult or precarious situations in their lives grew up to be normal or functional but it explains it at least in part. We can always have compassion for them as they have to be suffering at some level to do this stuff and still have them face some justice. One doesn’t exclude the other. Great video, keep it up!
perhaps the reason why the serial experiments lain alternate op was included on a disturbing songs iceberg is because of the anime’s subject matter. i never got around to finishing it, but i’m pretty sure it’s kinda unnerving
definitely think Ruru-Chan's Suicide Show on a Livestream belongs here. no idea if it's on one of the lower tiers, but i don't think it should be, since it's pretty well-known in English-speaking spheres, at least by j-rock standards. between the real-world context and frontman Noko bending their voice to sound like a young girl... it's a lot.
I’m a huge “Show Me The Body” fan, they’re an amazing post punk group out of New York and their song “You Thought What You Saw Was It” is one of the only song I’ve heard that actually kinda shook me up when I first heard it
i always gotta mention this as it's a big fucking piece of irony; after supposedly murdering euronymus; varg was spotted wearing a t shirt of the album "Pleasure to kill" by kreator. how's that ironic, you may ask? well; kreator is a band that is the exact political opposite of varg's political ideas(varg is a bigoted neo nazi trump supporter, while kreator's left wing, pro lgbtq+, and pro human rights, with the lead vocalist(Mille Petrozza) being a vegan, too., a quote from their most recent album(Hate uber alles) literally states "Hate is the virus of this world" i just have to mention this as kreator is my top favorite metal band in the Teutonic thrash subgenre(i also like destruction and sodom's discography, I'm not much for tankard, though.)
I'm surprised "a day in the life" and "being for the benefit of mr kite!" didn't make it to the first layer. As a beatles fan I think they both are amazing songs but at first the instrumentals may sound weird to those who don't really know their music . Loved your video, keep it up!
Listening to A Day in the Life as a kid, I have been both scared by the transitions and pleased by the beaty of the general song, that felt super trippy in the age of 6-7 (and Revolution 9 was even trippier). I found it just many years later after the burning memory about that musical discovery have casually floated to the surface from deeps of early childhood memories, and I had to dig through a lot of old cassetes (which luckily are still nearby) until I have found a needed album. Felt a strong flashback, but it wasn't nearly as trippy as it felt that time I firstly witnessed it, and sadly it was later quickly weakened in the mind by listening a couple of times.
to talk some more about varg: he was also heavily involved with the band mayhem, even being their bassist for a really really short period. Varg didn't kill in self defense, there was a joke made that this guy was going to kill varg because he was in jail and they were all scared he was gonna snitch on all of them and varg was also mad at this guy for trying to be more Norwegian metal than him (even though the guy he killed literally created the genre), its all really complicated. There's a lot about mayhem too, if you're interested in stuff like that I really recommend looking into it. he was also like a pretty big neo nazi although he heavily denies it now. The music is pretty dope, but a lot of the guys in that scene (at least at the time of Varg, two of the original mayhem members are still active and they're pretty cool people) are literally the worst people ever
The worst part is that "Look At Your Game, Girl" is a genuinely good song. Feels bad having it on my Spotify playlists, but I'll be damned if the man couldn't sing.
I looked at the entire iceberg and saw no mention of “All Lined Up” by Swans. Out of all the Swans songs, I don’t see how this one slipped through. The lyrics are fucked up without context, but apparently it’s about someone associated with Michael Gira and how much he hates that person (who it is is never specified, but a lot of fans, myself included, believe it’s about his mother).
Varg Vikernes doesn't make music anymore. The last album he released under Burzum was "Thuleân Mysteries" last year. It's also not black metal, it's more dungeon synth/ambient.
glad to see Burzum in the list, Dunkelheit is my favourite song from that guy. also yeah, it is black metal. Varg Vikernes wasn't the "leader" of the band, he was the only member lmao. i like how you went into detail abt the dude's backstory, really fuckin nice video dude!
Man, you're onto something with this format but I wish it had been more disturbing songs with better research. There's a LOT online about Varg and Burzum. Interesting stuff but the guy is a full on weirdo white supremacist who's gone so far as to create his own religion/belief system. He's awful but interesting to observe from a distance.
@@DulyDownward probably because he's a weird cult leader who created his own religion. The Norwegian black metal scene was rife with crazy stories and wild characters but he's the biggest weirdo of the lot.
As Ukrainian I don't get what's so disturbing about Tsukor Bila Smert either. If I name one most disturbing Ukrainian piece it will be Bohdan Stupak - voice of lie. I like to imagine that it's just flies flying out of putin's mouth in this track
Really surprised with this layer, what about Daddy by Korn and Kim by Eminem? Yeah they’re not deep level layer of disturbing but they’re both pretty well known. You could probably make your own iceberg with all the song recommendations in the comments.
Anything off of the Chuudokusyoujou album by XAAXAA is disturbing to me. I love the music, but I cant shake off the feeling that there’s something seriously wrong with the singer based off the raw emotion in his voice, like the things he’s singing about are things that genuinely haunt him
happy birthday and under the stairs by the birthday massacre would fit great on this list. happy birthday is an eerie, soothing instrumentally song which lyrics are all about how the narrator murdered people alongside their friends at a birthday party which had been hosted by one of them. this song also mentions recording the murders, possibly creating a snuff film. under the stairs is a happy sounding song; when i first started listening to the band, i even put it in my “good mood” playlist. the lyrics follow a narrator who is planning to commit suicide, and it’s almost like a letter to those who wronged them. they include a lyric that could imply this narrator wants these people to find the body. i will now present some lyrics from both songs- happy birthday: “i think my friend said stick it in the back of her head, i think my friend said ‘two of them are sisters,’ ‘you’re a murder tramp, murder tramp,’ i think i said, ‘i’m gonna bash them in, bash them in,’ i think he said” “i think my friend said, ‘don’t forget the video,’ i think my friend said, ‘don’t forget to smile,’ ‘you’re a murder tramp, murder tramp,’ i think he said, ‘you’re a murder boy, birthday boy,’ i think i said” under the stairs: “it’s such a shame, that you won’t be laughing when i’m dead” “you are gonna be sorry when i’m dead, under the stairs where no one cares i’m dead, that is where i’ll wait for you” though TBM isn’t exactly goth - they have goth elements to their music, but still aren’t considered the genre - lots of goth music, especially darkwave and post-punk, have disturbing lyrics or elements to them. you should check out switchblade symphony, they definitely make some creepy shit, in my opinion.
Random but I’m glad to see someone else who knows the birthday massacre! I used to be obsessed with them but I still enjoy listening to them once in awhile
Strangely, that Show Me the Body track is one of the few I have heard. I definitely think the screams are fake. If you clicked off of it, you probably missed the more dramatic screams that sound more performative. Also, while Show Me the Body certainly has some pretty intense tracks, they seem chill enough not to contain someone's genuine screams of horror on a track.
Skinny Puppy is pretty fertile ground for this type of list. OgrE's side project KY RE:Amin has a song about living with bodies that they failed to dispose of as far as I can tell lol
Hey there mr brooks by asking alexandria and i quote "This song is ultimately a 'song' version of the movie Mr. Brooks, the story is about a serial killer/photographer who wants to stop his killing habbits which has obviously taken control and on one night a neighbor across the street catches him red handed (killing a couple) but the boy wants to help him kill. the boy later then gets stressed, guilty and turns on mr.brooks but its too late for him and he gets slaughtered himslf." And the ending of the song is fifty shades of disturbing
Sematary is definitely an acquired taste, none of his songs are really disturbing but they have a sort of cartoonish violence about them. He’s like a mix of Chief Keef and black metal. But a lot of his stuff is somewhat satirical.
Just a lil info!! Burzum is black metal, yes, but if you want to get into specifics, it’s dungeon synth. Also!! Varg, and pretty much everyone from Mayhem were total asshats. Varg, and I think euronymous, burned down 3-4 churches, Varg killed euronymous, someone from that band stabbed a guy I think, and their og singer, pelle (dead), would torture cats… pretty messed up shit. I never got big on mayhem (and especially not burzum) but their history is a lot of fun to learn about :p anyways, great video! Finna watch part 2

Great content! Subscribed! I was really wondering what would be considered disturbing. Music is SO subjective. I'll have to check out the creator.. Waiting for cannibal corpse. "I don't listen to metal very often" is the most disturbing thing I've heard so far. 🤣
Thanks! Yeah I think the iceberg creator wanted some lesser-known entries idk. Hahaha there is SOME metal that I like, it’s definitely a genre I’d like to dive deeper into
Not sure if you added it, but "Jerome" from Jim Sullivan should have been on here (if it isn't that is). Sullivan disappeared in the desert way way way back and there's a lot of creepy stuff surrounding his disappearance such as a family with mob connections moving away very suddenly and the Sherrif in the area taking an early retirement to close the case.

It was one of her unreleased songs, so it not really as well known. The song is way more creepier than most of her released songs, and pretty much exposes the music industry she worked for, and her record label wouldn't let her release it for that very reason.
“Jennifer” by pig destroyer always freaked me out, even if its just an intro. Still has a creepy vibe and subject matter.
Interesting, I’ll definitely check her work out
choking games and farmer's field freaked me out so kuch listening to it for the first tine
She makes Melanie Martinez seem like Michael Buble
the disturbing thing in aphex twins milk man is the beginning, i think its from a book but its distorted. it describes some really grotesque sexual acts before going into the actual milk man song
If “Psycho” by Eddie Noack isn’t on here I’m gonna be mad, that song shows that country music can be freaky as hell and make you feel really unsettled
country music is actually really sad if you think about it... "MA PAW DIED IN A TORNADO. HE WUZ DONE BLOWN AWAY".
One of the best songs ever written
If Frankie Teardrop isn't on this iceberg I'll be amazed
Same w hamburger lady
@@willem-dafemme Hamburger Lady is so offputting it's insane.
Both are in tier 6
Yes ,,,,Falcos ,,Jeanny video ,,,creeped me out so bad,,,when I was a kid
Holy shit zawg I replied to ur comment like 6 times😭sorry
Hey, nice vid. Even though I’m a wimp when it comes to anything remotely scary I love learning about dark art. Also, I decided to check out the Show Me The Body and Eartheater song you were confused about. I can now assure you that the “woman screaming” is Eartheater and it’s just vocals for the song. If you look up the lyrics for this song you will see what is being “said”. Thought it might help
Very grateful about the eartheater song haha
I personally would’ve put Cancer by Mcr. A very sad and unnerving story about a persons lover dying of cancer
i love mcr but i think cancer is more sad than disturbing
@@luvrsara yeah same
If I were to put anything by mcr on here it would probably be something from ibymbybmyl. I personally would say Demolition Lovers, This Is The Best Day Ever, or Early Sunsets Over Monroeville
I would love if someone made a Spotify playlist with all the songs mentioned in this iceberg :o
I feel like Strange Fruit should be a given for Tier 1….
Nina Simone’s Strange Fruit is absolutely bone-chilling and absolutely breathtaking. It definitely deserves a spot!
@@yo2992 soon ima make a vid reviewing disturbing songs that people posted so I’ll be sure to go over it on that!
@@deadpanduke19 Nice! I'll be subscribed so I know when that happens.
@@yo2992 thank you!!
A song i found quite disturbing is
‘The Mariners Revenge’ by The Decemberists
The whole concept of it is a guy searching for a man who left his widowed mother after his gambling addiction causing them to lose their home and his mother to lose her mind
On her death bed she tells her son to find the man and torture him. So he goes on a journey. And he found the mans whereabouts by ovehearing he was known for wanton cruelty, and the next day he goes to sea with a privateer
After over a year at sea, he finds the man and as he prepared to shoot the man, both ships were taken down and consumed by a whale. Almost everyone except the two died
And then he proceeds to kill the man.
Thank the lord, that’s good to know
Suprised that Eminem Kim and 97 Bonny and Clyde or anything off his relapse album didn’t make it.
honestly the Tori Amos cover of 97 Bonny and Clyde could, it's a lot more disturbing than the original
pretty underrated video, looking forward to the next part!
Loving how everyone in the comments is talking about Korn xD
A song I definitely recommend would be “Bullet” by HollyWood undead, basically it’s a happy sounding song but it’s a suicide note
I fucking LOVE Hollywood undead so check em out of you like loud, riot, party-ish stuff
I’ve got a suggestion: One Way or Another by Blondie? At first glance, it’s another one of those catchy 70’s rock songs, but when you pay attention to the lyrics, it gets pretty disturbing.
(not sure if this was on the list or not)
I want to be stalked by Debbie Harry tho that’s the thing, I wouldn’t mind if she was on the hunt for me, I’m all hers
Jesus I’m fucking down outstandingly
Noticed the Souvlaki album in the background. Awesome album, dude. You have good taste.
Thanks! I love slowdive and shoegaze in general
Do You Doubt Me Traitor by Lingua Ignota is about a rape victim seeking revenge against their rapist, one of the most harrowing songs I've ever heard. plus the fact the song is based on lingua's own experience with assault.
You could pick any Ignota song tbh
i feel like kanyes "never see me again" could be on this list since it was kanyes suicide note maybe at one of the top two tiers
if Daddy - Korn isnt on here this list is a miss
For real!!!
And dancing with the devil- Immortal Technic
I couldn't listen to it again after two listens.
your voice is weirdly calming, keep up the good content man
No bullshit, but a really disturbing one in my opinion is “Jigglypuff” by Hamb Sun, knowing what the singer did, just makes the songs is much worse.
It's so oddly specific that it's kind of funny with how it fits.
what about sonic final boss music?
"Apparently he [Varg] burnt down a bunch of churches in his youth and killed a guy."
Me (a metalhead): yeah, this is definitely black metal
anytime youtube recommends me a disturbing iceburg i always click it
Regarding that Aileen Wuornos song:
Pretty much all killers, people who r word’s and like dictators and such (with some exceptions probably) have difficult upbringings or unfortunate series of events happen in their youth. It doesn’t excuse their actions as some people who had difficult or precarious situations in their lives grew up to be normal or functional but it explains it at least in part. We can always have compassion for them as they have to be suffering at some level to do this stuff and still have them face some justice. One doesn’t exclude the other. Great video, keep it up!
perhaps the reason why the serial experiments lain alternate op was included on a disturbing songs iceberg is because of the anime’s subject matter. i never got around to finishing it, but i’m pretty sure it’s kinda unnerving
definitely think Ruru-Chan's Suicide Show on a Livestream belongs here. no idea if it's on one of the lower tiers, but i don't think it should be, since it's pretty well-known in English-speaking spheres, at least by j-rock standards. between the real-world context and frontman Noko bending their voice to sound like a young girl... it's a lot.
I’m a huge “Show Me The Body” fan, they’re an amazing post punk group out of New York and their song “You Thought What You Saw Was It” is one of the only song I’ve heard that actually kinda shook me up when I first heard it
i love eartheater
i always gotta mention this as it's a big fucking piece of irony; after supposedly murdering euronymus; varg was spotted wearing a t shirt of the album "Pleasure to kill" by kreator. how's that ironic, you may ask? well; kreator is a band that is the exact political opposite of varg's political ideas(varg is a bigoted neo nazi trump supporter, while kreator's left wing, pro lgbtq+, and pro human rights, with the lead vocalist(Mille Petrozza) being a vegan, too., a quote from their most recent album(Hate uber alles) literally states "Hate is the virus of this world" i just have to mention this as kreator is my top favorite metal band in the Teutonic thrash subgenre(i also like destruction and sodom's discography, I'm not much for tankard, though.)
Those songs aren’t disturbing tho
to talk some more about varg: he was also heavily involved with the band mayhem, even being their bassist for a really really short period.
I’m a simple woman. I see converge, burzum, swans, and aphex twin in the same thumbnail, and I click
charles manson released a few singles and even a whole album, freaky stuff tbh
That’s crazy, never knew this
The worst part is that "Look At Your Game, Girl" is a genuinely good song. Feels bad having it on my Spotify playlists, but I'll be damned if the man couldn't sing.
Talented man even if he was a psychotic murderer,
I looked at the entire iceberg and saw no mention of “All Lined Up” by Swans.
Thanks brother!
Converge is more Punk/Hardcore than Metal..
Butyeah.
Yeah a commenter told me some stuff about him. It’s absolutely crazy! He might warrant a full on video himself
@@deadpanduke19 not sure if you've covered it in another video but Gulaggh would definitely be worth including on your iceberg. Very disturbing stuff.
Varg just gives me edge lord jibes. Lol from what little I know about him.
People only focus on Varg for some reason- research the entire Mayhem band, he killed his bandmate :/
@@DulyDownward probably because he's a weird cult leader who created his own religion. The Norwegian black metal scene was rife with crazy stories and wild characters but he's the biggest weirdo of the lot.
Someone should make a playlist with all those songs! I want to listen to all of them !
Dance with the devil by immortal technique should be top level or second.
U NEED TO PUT a cold freezn night on there by the books
OMG THATS AN ANGLES ALBUM IN THE BACKGROUND IM GONNA SCREAM
As Ukrainian I don't get what's so disturbing about Tsukor Bila Smert either. If I name one most disturbing Ukrainian piece it will be Bohdan Stupak - voice of lie. I like to imagine that it's just flies flying out of putin's mouth in this track
I think Never see me again by Kanye should be on here (unless you're only doing officially released songs)
You’re absolutely right considering the backstory. I may do a part 3 since a lot of ppl are suggesting songs
Any John Congleton/ Paperchase stuff on here? If not, it should be ❤
Really surprised with this layer, what about Daddy by Korn and Kim by Eminem? Yeah they’re not deep level layer of disturbing but they’re both pretty well known. You could probably make your own iceberg with all the song recommendations in the comments.
Been waiting for someone too do this thank you!
13:56 i shat myself when i saw goreshit on this iceberg, i didn't expect that
same
Mien tiell by rammstain and eaten by bloodbath are about a guy being eaten. It happened in Germany
Anything off of the Chuudokusyoujou album by XAAXAA is disturbing to me. I love the music, but I cant shake off the feeling that there’s something seriously wrong with the singer based off the raw emotion in his voice, like the things he’s singing about are things that genuinely haunt him
A recommendation I'd have to give is the song "kunts" by the butthole surfers. Their entire album "locust abortion technician" is worth a mention tho
The fact that Throbbing Gristle's Hamburguer Lady, a music at the bottom tier of the iceberg, is one of my favourite musics makes me nervous.
i luv the valley OH bye xiu xiu would also be good on this list. his visceral vocals with the subject matter about suicide in his family... touching
I'm also surprised that "sodikken" is not on the lists, i think sodikken is just a new artist so yeah you can check her out
I JUST CLICKED ON THE VIDEO AND THE FIRST THING I SEE IS THE STROKES ANGLES ALBUM, YOU'RE AMAZING ALREADY✨
I love the strokes!!!!!
No Scott Walker? Cue and Clara was the first songs that actually made me feel uncomfortable for real. And The Drift in general is a great album.
happy birthday and under the stairs by the birthday massacre would fit great on this list. happy birthday is an eerie, soothing instrumentally song which lyrics are all about how the narrator murdered people alongside their friends at a birthday party which had been hosted by one of them. this song also mentions recording the murders, possibly creating a snuff film. under the stairs is a happy sounding song; when i first started listening to the band, i even put it in my “good mood” playlist. the lyrics follow a narrator who is planning to commit suicide, and it’s almost like a letter to those who wronged them. they include a lyric that could imply this narrator wants these people to find the body.
i will now present some lyrics from both songs-
happy birthday:
“i think my friend said stick it in the back of her head,
i think my friend said ‘two of them are sisters,’
‘you’re a murder tramp, murder tramp,’ i think i said,
‘i’m gonna bash them in, bash them in,’ i think he said”
“i think my friend said, ‘don’t forget the video,’
i think my friend said, ‘don’t forget to smile,’
‘you’re a murder tramp, murder tramp,’ i think he said,
‘you’re a murder boy, birthday boy,’ i think i said”
under the stairs:
“it’s such a shame,
that you won’t be laughing when i’m dead”
“you are gonna be sorry when i’m dead,
under the stairs where no one cares i’m dead,
that is where i’ll wait for you”
though TBM isn’t exactly goth - they have goth elements to their music, but still aren’t considered the genre - lots of goth music, especially darkwave and post-punk, have disturbing lyrics or elements to them. you should check out switchblade symphony, they definitely make some creepy shit, in my opinion.
Honestly it just sounded like a standard death grips or crystal castles or diamanda galas song, kinda goes hard ngl
@@jeanmichellelaurent yeah I low-key kinda like it. Show me the body has some good stuff
Possession by Sara McLachlan because it's about her stalker and the letters he wrote her.
The album that the Daughters song is from is so much more disturbing knowing what we know now.
Very true I can’t listen to daughters anymore cuz of it
nirvana's francis farmer will have her revenge on seattle is almost on the same level as polly, the backstory is so upsetting
Surprised Iowa by Slipknot isn't here. Or even Scissors, or Virus of Life by them. Those songs are very messed up and disturbing.
That song 'ASLEEP ON AN AIRPLANE' is fire🔥🔥
Skinny Puppy is pretty fertile ground for this type of list. OgrE's side project KY RE:Amin has a song about living with bodies that they failed to dispose of as far as I can tell lol
Bro underrated as hell
Serial Experiments Lain Alternative OP ain’t disturbing it’s just funny as hell. The fact that their name is…that makes it funnier
A little nitpick but Clipping. - Attunement is about contemplating suicide, not a kidnapping
Sematary is definitely an acquired taste, none of his songs are really disturbing but they have a sort of cartoonish violence about them. He’s like a mix of Chief Keef and black metal. But a lot of his stuff is somewhat satirical.
Bonus points for the Discovery vinyl 👀
Just a lil info!!
Burzum is black metal, yes, but if you want to get into specifics, it’s dungeon synth. Also!! Varg, and pretty much everyone from Mayhem were total asshats. Varg, and I think euronymous, burned down 3-4 churches, Varg killed euronymous, someone from that band stabbed a guy I think, and their og singer, pelle (dead), would torture cats… pretty messed up shit. I never got big on mayhem (and especially not burzum) but their history is a lot of fun to learn about :p anyways, great video! Finna watch part 2
Wow this is crazy info!! Thanks for sharing, very interesting stuff!
there’s a whole obscure genre of japanese music, made usually by women, that just has a very eerie, off-putting sound to it. I have no idea what it’s called but i’m currently obsessed with it.
I'm a bit surprised little Susie by Michael Jackson isn't here but it's not that disturbing as some of the other stuff on here. it's a song about a girl being murdered and abused by her grandfather.
That pavement record on your wall is hella dope, love that record
death in june is an interesting band that should be included on this. their member boyd rice dodged nazi, fascist and white supremacy allegations. its bad, to be honest. you should do a video about nurse with wound and the bands they have on their first two albums. its really awesome and interesting stuff
I think I’ve heard of this case before. I’ll definitely look into that
@@deadpanduke19 There's a podcast by Steph Young (I can't remember its name) where an entire episode is devoted to his disappearance.
A couple of songs that I feel should have been on here, 5th angel by Beast in Black, its about hard R. ...And a Cross Marks his Grave by 1914, the lyrics are taken from a Fatality Letter from WWI. Silencer any song by Silencer. The singer is extremely disturbed and committed self harm during the record. Pumped up Kicks, its about Eric Harris and his friend and what they did.
