fallout radio comparison is spot on. AOTY (or at least top 3) if you ask me
This video is just so lazy and doesn't do justice to the mystic and wonder that it is Diamond Jubilee
@@BonoLightier I spent hours on this script but ok
@@deadpanduke19bro, many of the main topics you mentioned can be found in pitchfork's review of the album and in addition you included and read a 9-line paragraph. This is just my opinion. I'm simply glad that someone is talking about this marvellous album.
@@BonoLightieryou don't have to like every video you watch but genuinely, what does going out of your way to tell the creator the video is lazy accomplish? what's your goal here?
This was a great analysis. My personal favourite from Cindy Lee's discography is What's Tonight to Eternity? I think its reallly underrated, the album has an immaculate dark atmosphere with glitch-pop aesthetics, very different from Diamond Jubilee. I also really enjoyed DJ, but but WTTE is still my absolute favourite, maybe one of my favourites oat.
Context of culture and expectations for the art definitely shape how people can be more receptive at one point in time or with one branding versus another.
2 views 38 seconds...bro fell off
The singer of Scorpions the band that made windsnof change said the CIA has nothing to do with it
Great video man
People clown on this album for not having conventional bangers, but Jesus Christ, this shit SLAPS. And that's not even taking into consideration the power and message of these lyrics.
This song aint just about Drake...
as someone with a dead dad, this is my favorite kendric song. i have a 'neat, no chaser tattoo.
0:36 I mean…at least he didn’t say it was bad. EDIT: OCTOPUS’S GARDEN IS BAD!?
This is a compilation of singles at best. I haven't seen consumer fraud like this since Van Halen's Diver Down. Only have 8 tracks? Intro/Outro makes 10! Still love these guys but yeah, they should have worn robber masks. Also, Virtue is far superior and actually a real album.
Since you’re not british you probably didn’t know this, but there is definitely a reason as to why Slowthai wasn’t on the list. A couple months after the release of Ugly he was charged with two counts of rape. The trial hasn’t begun yet, but it makes sense why Pitchfork wouldn’t include him despite both Tyron and Ugly being great albums. I do however agree with your other Hip Hop picks. I would also like to add How I’m Feeling Now by Charli XCX as well as Sawayama by Rina Sawayama and Collapsed in Sunbeams by Arlo Parks.
@@justsamoo3480 bro what… that’s so sad 😕 Ugly was one of my favorite albums last year now I just won’t be able to hear it the same
You should listen to a few songs by Marek Grechuta, hes an amazing artist from Poland, you might understand him but the instrumentals themselves are amazing
Techno and cyberpunk too
Phonk neutrofunk terror dubstep trap metal hardcore vaporwave is good
it's a painfully beautiful and necessary song. thank you for this, I'm glad MMATBS is getting it's flowers
there’s a whole obscure genre of japanese music, made usually by women, that just has a very eerie, off-putting sound to it. I have no idea what it’s called but i’m currently obsessed with it.
Finally some Farazi V Kayra appreciation, Tortu it's one of my absolute favorite rap songs ever and the album it's really a hidden gem that I hope more people recognize more and more in the future great job
Drake just keeps proving how hollow skulled he is by literally not even understanding the literal meaning of the entire song. My guy has never heard of subtext
Radiohead or Oasis? Radiohead: Like Oasis: Comment
I had this idea myself. Cool to see that someone has already done it! Makes me want to give it a shot.
"Apparently he [Varg] burnt down a bunch of churches in his youth and killed a guy." Me (a metalhead): yeah, this is definitely black metal
I love these songs
You're absolutely getting crucified

Violator at 7/10😔
your brain is omega damaged but thanks for the laughs
Yea man, you definitely need more time with To Be Kind. It's not an album that you can just listen to once and understand and enjoy it for what it is. It's better when you keep in mind the meanings of the lyrics, which you will probably have to decipher, but that's what really makes the album a 10/10 imo. I recommend listening to some of the songs separately before ever trying to encounter it in it's full length. I have 30 hrs of listening time on the album and I only listened to the whole thing twice. It wasn't really my thing at first either, but trust me, it will grow on you.
not only the lyrics, but focus on the build ups in the instrumentals, especially in the first track
i feel like songs that need lyrics deciphered by like genius or you need to reeeeeaaally pay attention to get the "deeper meaning" its not going to be the best of songs. i really love tame impala because he makes great music with themes you can actually understand by just... listening. and that makes it great every time. a good example of this is posthumous forgiveness
@davie_boi9803 I see what you're saying, but in my opinion, the songs that go deeper than the surface level of just sound and words is amazing. For example, The Seer title track is 32 mins of instrumental with little lyrics, but I've deciphered meanings from that song and that's just incredible. Other ppl I know also get their own meanings from Swans music, and that's what makes them a masterpiece of a band imo. Of course a simple song can also be known as the best of songs, but songs that really have to get you to think are one of a kind
👎
You forgot the college dropout
Not canon/confirmed
@@dbeme07 but he has consistently said it’s his favorite album of Kanye’s of which I agree
@@Igorsbackagain-c6q what I mean by cannon/confirmed is that he specifically stated that it was 10/10. You’re right though.
Thanks for the good video! I didn't know Pixies was considered the first or one of the first indie bands. Now I know where the nasal singing voice comes from...though I still wonder why so many indie singers sing in nasal...maybe you can make a video of it :D
I love the underlying tones of respect and thoughtfulness in this review. In my opinion, some things are just kinda wild, but you managed to say everything while sounding genuine e and respectful, something I fail to do sometimes. Earned a sub and a great video.
Anney Road not in the top 10 feels like a disservice but okay. Where is Songs in the Key of Life and Remain in Light though?
@@ssheersh i was asking the same thing. apparently anthony never gave sitkol a 10. it’s some mandela effect cause i was so sure he gave it a 10. when he reacted to his subreddit’s top 100 list he said he thinks sitkol deserves to be in the top 5. It’s also worth mentioning that a 9 can be better than a 10 because an album can be perfect while another one maybe has some weak points while having higher highs or more highs. i personally would just give those supposed flawed albums a 10. sitkol is a long album so you can see why someone doesn’t love all the songs, but anthony also said that the albums in the video are not the only ones he might think are 10s, but the ones he feels the most confident in giving it. But remain in light was just completely missed from his videos, that’s his fault
bruh
No 10 for Vespertine is tragic
Among like 30 of the greatest albums ever made? Honestly number 10 is kinda very good?
5/10 on to be kind is wild sorry but I had to turn the video off
facts bro that opinion is inexcusable 😭
same bro theres no point even watching the rest of the video 💀
OH MY W, these are identical to my opinions pretty much 😭😭😭
where's the Talking heads?
bro forgot Remain in Light
yea😂 He literally can make a pinned comment to address this and another comments
The bottom placements gave me aids
so, first of all, yes, you will get crucified for purple rain. let's go crazy is one of the craziest opening tracks and the beginning spoken word is so beautiful. take me with you is a bit of a safer track compared to the rest, but it's still heartfelt and beautiful. i don't know how you couldn't feel anything from the beautiful ones, prince is giving his heart into that performance at the end. computer blue doesn't have a lot of lyrics, but it's got an amazing guitar performance. darling nikki is awesome and the drum machine prince was using is excellent on here. it's also the most explicit song on the album, which is unfortunate since he is well known for sexual content. his sexuality makes so may of his essential songs like dirty mind, head, let's pretend we're married be soo good. the second side i don't have to defend since you like it more. I still prefer Sign O' The Times over this one because i prefer some of the songs and the intimate feel of that one. the title track is awesome, socially conscious, great guitar reefs, play in the sunshine feels like you're a happy kid, housequake is a banger, first appearance of Camille, the ballad of dorothy parker is maybe the first song on the album that really exemplifies a lot the kind of intimacy I love about this album. this album had probably my favorite 3 track run with if i was your girlfriend-strange relationships-i could never take the place of your man. iiwyg is just the type of song only prince could make especially in '87. he wants the intimacy with his girld that he feels only women experience with one another, but he becomes desperate until the end. strange relationships continue on that broken dynamic and has one of my favorite choruses ever and i could never take the place of your man is maybe my favorite prince song. the story is so heartfelt, but somehow it works so well with the upbeat guitar focused beat. the final track, Adore, is also so good, it's similar with the final track on 1999, international lover, in the sense that it's a love ballad sang in prince's classic powerful falsetto. that one is more sexual, but Adore works so good as an ultimate declaration of love. but even though i prefer sott, purple rain is still perfect. Ok, i derailed a bit, but i love prince's music so much. the second thing I wanted to say that i noticed immediately is that anthony has given 8 tens to albums after he started his channel, which is around 2010 I believe. He then gave 5 records each decade a 10. 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s. 5 times 5= 25. 25+8= 33 records, but you only had 32. I was curious to see which one you missed and I was extremely surprised it was SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE BY STEVIE WONDER. i don't know how in the world you missed that one. huge record, i haven't even heard it in full, but i know the importance of stevie wonder and i love some of his songs
@@misu73373 I’m glad you’re super passionate about it- I respect it!! And he did review songs in the key of life, however never gave it an official 10 as far as I’m aware. It’s an album I adore though and probably would’ve been in the top 10
@@deadpanduke19 i am so sorry. i could have sworn it was in his 70s tens, but the math still isn't mathing, he gave a 10 to 33 albums and you included 32, i have to find the missing one
@@deadpanduke19 have you included remain in light by the talking heads???
@@misu73373you wont get what you want by daughters is missing
@@zander3943 it's there
What do you mean Slug Bait has no lyrics? I think you looked up the wrong song man. It has some of the most disturbing lyrics ever
I would add that the meaning of the name math rock also comes from the constant changes in time signatures in the music, where you really have to count when you play in order to know your way :)
I believe this misunderstood from drake what cost all these actions we see from kdot... he so angry
Omg this piano beautiful 😭
