This channel is all about snipers, sniping gameplay and FPS shooters! I mainly do Warzone Pacific gameplay but I also play regular Call of Duty, Battlefield 2042 and I love Battle Royale. I often play solos, duos, trios and quads on my livestream. I have over 700 wins in Warzone and over 1000 hours experience in every Battlefield game. I hope to play more FPS games in 2022 and am looking forward to Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 launching in 2022. I hope you enjoy my Warzone sniper gameplay as much as I do making it. - Игры

This saying will be with us for ages and that is a good thing. :)
Always loved your BF content Westie, I stand with your decision here. Keep having fun dude, this game is no BF1 for sure
Dice and/or EA have done irreversable to this franchine IMO, im 30, played BF since bf1942. If theres no statement/roadmap soon i wont be playing one again.
😭
How to make the worst battlefield game ever:
- Throw out the unique, beloved and time proven battlefield formula.
- implement a hero shooter formula instead
- go all in on skins and microtransactions at the expense of overall content.
- make sure the game is not competitive by removing the scoreboard and nerfing the point & progression system.
- make sure people can't play on their favorite maps or select map size etc (no server browser).
- make sure people can't communicate with each other (no voip or all-chat)
-kill the immersion by making everyone look exactly the same, like clones, and add cringey voicelines on top just to make sure the immersion is really dead.
- make the maps too big and empty, with no destruction.
-make sure there are very few weapons and little customization options.
-dumb down wehicle mechanics so that there's no skill needed to operate them, and therefore also no reward associsted with mastering them.
- add tons of bugs
It only hurts because it's true
😂 This is hilarious
Mic drop
The funniest part is that DICE didn't even go "all out" on the skins and microtransactions, the game barely has any skins and the in game shop is useless currently
large and kinda empty maps, microtransactions and skins, specialist system.. Its like, bf2042 was planned from scetch only to be a battle royale.. but not a f2p battle royale.. just a 110 Bucks (preorder) battle royale. Fk this :(. very disappointed and ill never preorder something again -.-
Bf1 was the last game genuinely made with absolute passion. And I could feel it in every match. The ambience and the WW1 setting were just incredible and they did a fantastic job with the little details! Now bf is literally just pain and agony to play. But I guess that’s just how it works out sometimes… 😭
Bf1 was my favourite of all the titles just for atmosphere alone
Tbh I rate V more than 1 because of the gunplay, movement and more advanced destruction. 1 had a great atmosphere and the audio design is unmatched but the gameplay itself was way too casual from the sweet spot mechanics to the bloom
@@hamzaHrv I disagree
It is impossible to compare the all out war immersion of BF1 to BFV
@The Scientist immersion is one but gameplay is something else. I ask feel like the Pacific maps where some of the best designed maps in the last 8 years
@@balsham137 I also really loved the building features bfV had too. I never played it in the early stages to experience the worst part though.

Sony and nintendo are the only eceptions at this point lol. Capcoms gotten better. Every other company behind great and legendary game franchises are greatly just a shadow of their former selves.
Yet people still doing it.
Unless it's Dying Light 2
Yeah I keep saying this but until recently (at the launch of Call of Wokeness Vantard) ended up implementing it
Memes aside, I'm actually heartbroken that it turned out this way
same here. I feel utterly miserable watching the trailer. I didn't listen to the kids screaming about it and was optimistic at first but I've honestly given up. I'll check up on it in like a year or somthing...
Yeah it’s a shame, been really looking forward to a new bf, what a disaster it was
Got so hyped for a new Battlefield game, shame we still had faith in EA and DICE
Same here, got so excited for it being a hardcore fan and it was a total let down
Don't be sad this is just how it works out sometimes
This may seem harsh but I hope 2042 doesn't recover. DICE and EA need to learn a lesson. They need to release a finished game and be honest with the community and not lie. I love Battlefield but something needs to change. This happens year after year.
Seeing how this game is going/has gone, I doubt they’ll fully recover from this sadly. Direction seems to have taken a drastic change
Im with you. Unfortunately they got our money already. To them, this is a success. They will move on without regrets.
@@HSXGlitch the only chance there is of them learning from this is for as many fans as possible to pull their support from the franchise, money talks.
They should of learned from bfv never mind this rubbish
This game needs to fail miserably in the worst possible way in order to reborn as the REAL Battlefield we all miss.
You know what breaks my heart? I really didn’t like Battlefield 5, so I skipped out on it and said I’d wait for the next Battlefield game. So during 5s life cycle, I continued to play 4 and 1. I was so excited for Battlefield 2042, as it had been YEARS since I played a new title and would actually spend time in. I am so ashamed that I spent $100 on a preorder, just so I could play the beta. With that being said, I was disgusted by the beta and the way they did the community. I played it for 1 day and have never even touched the $100 game that I bought since.
I pretty much skipped BF5 too as my cpu couldn't handle it. I was hyped with a new one for bf2042. I also preordered, my first one ever. Never again. I also feel ashamed I fell for this shit. Ah well. RIP bf 😔
Ditto!
Same, but I bought the standard $60 version the first day it released in November. I had bought and played BF1, BFV and BF4 and loved each for their own reasons and memories. Played bf2042 maybe a total of 3 hours and just couldn’t continue. Felt very ashamed for that purchase
hahahahahahahaha you actually preordered a game today holy shit
Bf 5 is actually a great game.
It was just the start of battlefields downfall..
They could kept going on with bf5 but they didn’t.
So many great maps they missed out on and they didn’t even add the Russians 🤔
Remember when you first set foot on the vast desert of Sinai? The first time you siege in the blood bath of Fort Vaux? The thundering engine of train that penetrate Amien that shook the ground? BF1 was the last Battlefield that really received a lot of love and passion from both developer and community, no one genuinely complained about the game itself.
I cant even describe in words how much i enjoyed a match of operations in BF1 yesterday. Like fuck!!! I went from sad and depressed from 2042 to happy in seconds while playing BF1
Nah battlefield 1 was the start of the franchise downfall. It sounds like you were not a fan of the actual battlefields like bad company, 3, and 4
@@goldie44451 i play 3,4,1 i just enjoy bf1 was something new and its fun
@@goldie44451 I did not say bf1 was THE BEST, it was unique and almost one of a kind. The attempt was a very bold move for any studio , even at today's standard. Although somewhere on the way, there were hiccups, the game itself is a piece of fine art. I only started playing from bf3 and bf4, those two were my most favorite ones but bf1 was something that surprised me the most.
As soon as the trailer for battlefield 1 came out we know it was going to beat cod and be good i enjoyed it for some time till they nerf the tanks because the kids complaining.
We are angry because we were sold a bad bill of goods. When we questioned the quality of the game during the beta, they told us the beta was "months old and many issues already addressed". They told us it would be ready at launch and it wasn't. They quite literally and deliberately lied to us. Everyone that bought the game at launch, or worse pre-ordered, wasted our money.
That said, Westie we still support you and will watch no matter what game you choose to play.
The developers should move to India and start running a scam call center. I can't see any difference between that scam and ea's scam.
I'm sorry, but anyone who believed that the beta was actually months old, you probably deserve this shitpile of a game.
@@outbobthelaw2248 It came from the horses mouth. We shouldn't have to question official statements from the devs regarding their own game. Its outright fraud and it's become normalized.
Exactly. I saved money to get the gold edition, but dropped the game after 2 weeks. Never spent more on a game and never got disappointed more.
@@balius9268 you are both correct, but I would err on the side of never trust someone selling you something. especially when there is clear evidence they are selling you a lemon! If you are dumb enough to buy it even after seeing it and everyone shouting about how broken it is that's on you.
That said if it was any other industry they would get done for fraud!
It's so hard to not be negative about this game. They had a lot of time to make this the blockbuster game it should have been, yet it's a complete disappointment. It just doesn't feel like battlefield.
Check Tom Henderson's video about BF2042's development. tl;dr it was originally designed as a Battle Royale but converted to be a mainline Battlefield game later then added specialists near the end.
Honestly, this should have been battlefield 4 version 2 lol if they would have followed up on 4, 2042 would have been amazing.
they ruined its call of duty
@@ultraranger1286 God damn.
Battlefield 1 was a masterpiece. It's mindblowing that they've moved so far away from what made that game so amazing.
It really is mind-bottling that they could make a game as good as BF1. I spend so many hours on that game and couldnt get enough! Then BF5 was decent but noticeably worse than BF1. Then BF2042 comes along and was a complete waste of $60 and one of the least entertaining games ive played in my life. I used to like both COD and Battlefield but for now Battlefield is dead to me.
Im honestly pretty tired of people saying "every BF has had a rough launch" in regard to the community feedback of this game. The deeper problems of this game are rooted in its foundation, not bugs or performance. As bad as the bugs and performance issues are, those issues still don't even break my top 5 list of issues I have with the game.
Battlefield 4 was horrible first days after launch... I stepped back from the game. Two updates later I came back and put hundrets of hours in it.
Same with one and five. Five is far from beeing my fave game... But it's still way better than 42.
42 just feels and looks like a big call of duty.
That's not what I wanted in a Battlefield.
@@Alex-K94 Honestly, after Bad Company 2 I was convinced and still am that DICE Sweden literally never was good. The success of Battlefield as a franchise overall came from DICE LA, now Ripple Effect. @@Shyvorix Yeah that frostbite trash needs to die. But that would mean work for them and they obviously don't like that stuff.
Yeah. BF1's launch was pretty great.
Between call of duty and battlefield it’s a competition of who can ruin their franchise more. Seeing these massive studios release such garbage while indie developers comprised of a room of people who care make absolute gems is just sad.

I think Battlefield is winning so far in terms of how to kill their franchise. COD had a resurgence with MW 2019, and Vanguard isn’t too much of a departure and is overall okay, if you ignore zombies. Battlefield has had their second rough launch in a row in terms of player retention, this one even worse than the last.
@@limnakama agreed, while i haven’t played Vanguard and won’t, I have to say I could still pick up the game for free and have a standard cod experience (which I’m bored of). I think the most important change Battlefield can make is this: stop setting a release date far in advance, stop selling early access. Finish the game first - then start talking about release dates and early access. Too many compromises happen when chasing deadlines that increasingly become unrealistic. This game was initially not even supposed to support the older console generation - so that probably also pushed them to make changes to get the game to run on the old consoles. When you chase deadlines, hacks are put in place that limit the future of the game in various ways often. Also - please get rid of the tornado crap - its annoying.
No. What they need to do is make a game for fans. Not just copy whatever the newest trend is. Nobody wanted specialists. No amount of dev time would remove them
If they do that, they won't get their in advance from the pre-orders. The trailer alone made the sales. With money on their pocket, they didn't even cared about finishing the game
Or maybe fucking listen to them who plays it??? :D No body has ever asked for this shit??
I kind of like the tornadoes.
@@MasterMayhem78 same
Adding specialists and changing up the whole battlefield system is still mind boggling to me
I feel like they tried to turn it into a arena shooter or some shit since sales have not been great. I think they were hoping it would be as popular as Fortnite, apex legends and some other titles but instead they ruined a title.
I think a part of growing up is watching the things you once loved, and took for granted, slowly crumble and fade away. I have loved the Battlefield franchise since I was a kid, and that name will peobably hold a special place in my heart until the day I die, but I've accepted the fact that the DICE we once knew has been swept away by the sands of time, and now it's time to move on to new and better things.
Honestly felt the same way, even the other day when I booted up Halo 3 for a game before it shut down. I think it's time to move on
Tell me about it. grew up on gears of war... it just sucks now.
Thanks for ur thoughts. I have loved this franchise too and I hope they can turn it around. They have gone code silent. Hopefully they address the community soon.

This. Exactly this. Thanks for your thoughts.
When you open bf4 it says “Welcome to your Battlefield”. YOUR Battlefield. What’s happened to this franchise man it’s such a shame.
Fr this game is way to light hearted
Amen to that.
As a BF2 veteran, I question the same thing when I load into BF4 and see that message; BF has been on a long downward spiral in terms of quality since BC2, which only gets as much praise as it does because it was a lot of player's first BF game and the IP has had basically no chance to change back from a large scale, power-fantasy driven arena shooter back to a more serious tactical shooter for the last 10+ years because those BC2 & BF3/4 fanboys keep insisting that those games are the epitome of what BF should be; just another mindless action shooter with no requirement for teamplay or tactical thought whatsoever.
The key draw of the pre-Frostbite engine games was that it wasn't YOUR Battlefield; no individual ever mattered in a given match because it didn't matter how good you were at the mechanical aspect of the game, no class could reliably sustain itself. The whole draw of the series was that players were "cogs in the military machine," where the team was most important, not your personal stats or constantly being rewarded with big numbers for mundane tasks (a kill or support action before BC2 was worth 1 point, a flag cap was worth 2; these days you're getting a minimum of hundreds of points for kills or captures and fractions of that for support actions). Nowadays it's all about making your mark on the battlefield and standing out among the crowd to the point where the scoreboard emphasizing teamwork and not letting you compare individual players' performance is the single most complained about change to the series.
I take it you didnt play bf4 at launch bf games are always bad at launch bf4 was worse than 2042s launch lol
@@markchiz7505 okay but we're not at launch anymore? And they were bad in different ways- BF4 had a load of technical issues and didn't run properly, but underneath all of the shit it was a good game. The issues with 2042 come from the game itself. It's not what fans wanted and it's not what they were promised. So it's a false equivalency imo
Love how they show normal troops in the trailer as playables then a couple of specialists like I thought it was gonna be SW battlefront 2 style not just spam of specialists
Bro, I feel this... As ridiculous as this sounds it's effected my happiness also. There is no other game that means as much to me as battlefield, it literally put me in a mild depression so I also walked away for now.

@@chobbsy84 i moved back to arma 3. Lol
My solution was to move to another game genre. Before 2020 I basically only played FPS, but after EA abandon BF5, I try and ended loving the Witcher 3 and 2018 God of War. I haven’t played FPS consistently since and I couldn’t have been more happier.
I waited the entire year for this game... I'm just playing old battlefield titles instead
Speaking the truth. I fell into that hype of a new bf game also. Finally came to a point I felt like I was forcing myself to play the game. I wasn't having fun and stressing me out to the point I stopped and Uninstalled the game altogether. Like you said games should be fun and 2042 just isn't.
The only way I can play this game is by choosing only the Angel specialist as I can support, resupply myself and teammates. I'm mainly part of the ground force, so I'm always in the MBTs and sometimes I'm a god in it. Then I wonder.. is it not balanced properly? I like the game a lot and it has potential.. they just have to the fix its issues.
I'm a huge battlefield fan, but for the first time I hesitated with this one. So many AAA games have been bad from the start, so I watched a bunch of reviewers and decided to wait. Sadly, it looks like I won't get this game. I'll keep playing Battlefield 1, 3, 4, and 1942 as long as I'm able to do so.
luckily i didn't noticed big name streamers pumping it up...turned out to be absolute dog sh** ....like cmon i've had BF4 for years and so many players are coming back from 2042 saying how dog sh** it was
I nearly pre-ordered it but I've been bitten before so I hesitated and I'm pretty glad I did because after trying the beta I had no desire to buy it. I mean Portal looks cool but I'm not paying full price just for that
It's the opposite for me. It's finally a BF game that I enjoy again. While BF1 and V have been OK, I haven't been able to really get into them. I am having as much fun with 2042 as I had back in the Bad Company 2 days where I just can't stop playing BF. I enjoy it even more than 3 and 4 I think. I can't quite understand the frustration of so many players to be honest. I think that this game offers a lot of freedom to try different tactical gameplay approaches in different situations. There is a ton of variety possible in the gameplay. I love it. I think that it actually has a steeper learning curve than the older BF games. That's a good thing in my opinion. This game deserves a second chance. As soon as you adapt to the different gameplay loop it truly begins to shine.
Good on you Westie for having the self awareness to recognize unhealthy habits in yourself and taking action to address it. Thats sadly too rare of a trait in people. I will miss your BF content but I fully support your decision to walk away and just hope to see you back someday. Well done and well said.

I am just glad I could test it with friends in the Beta and we all came to the conclusion that we are very dissapointed and didn't buy the game.
The first major DLC for BF 2042 should be counselling sessions for the players..
Good stuff.
All they needed to do was visually update BF3 and BF4. The path to success was SOOO easy.
It still baffles me that they could make such a mess of this game.
Last quarter of 2021, CoD made over $1.2 billion (roughly 3-4 month timeframe) off microtransactions alone. That is what they were thinking about and thats all they care about.
@@iR3J3CT_ and that’s why these FPS AAA shooters are gonna fail and no one will play them. I almost wish no one would play these games like under 100 player count so the devs would have to do something.
Or make a WW2 game with all the classic battlegrounds but with new graphics and destruction. It seems simple, but what we are dealing with here is a management that has lost all touch with reality. Sadly, this game will never reach heights it could have. Even if they took it down, tore it apart and rebuilt it from the ground up to be a truer BF experience (which they won't do), you'd still have people who refuse to return just because of how hard they were burned.

I wholeheartedly agree with the both but especially the "No Destruction" part..........like SERIOUSLY?!?! A lot of ppl came to the BF franchise since we wanted to get away from "lanes" like in CoD and look visually stunning doing it. Now it's all gone - Levolution and General Destruction is not part of the 2042 formula and that's just not Battlefield smh
I think they had to make far too many compromises to allow a next gen game to run on the old gen consoles, lack of destruction being a major part of it, if the game had launched next gen only I think we would have got something better than what we ended up with, it looks worse than BF4 on the Series X.

In the past 3-4 years, I have noticed that I'm not playing games like before, not because I don't have time, but because game development and AAA industry has really sunk and I don't find them enjoyable as before, but maybe that's just me...
instead of AAA giants making crazy titles, nowadays the most fun games are indie titles or from smaller studios. Insurgency Sandstorm is a game i bought recently instead of BF2042 (as i wanted to see it's launch and then decide, glad i did)
or Hell Let Loose too is fun. im expecting dying light 2 to come out too, seems like it could be a real gem.
in general, big studios lost their artistic lead and are making stale cashgrabs, with a few exceptions in between (like MW2019)
Iv noticed this since about 10 years ago, there is a few games here and there that show us hope, Red dead Redemption, battlefield 1, Four Honor (which is a weird game but awesome) , Metal Gear, but the majority of AAA games are trash money traps.
When I was younger I thought "just imagine what game will be like 10 or 20 years from now" 😑 well now we know, sjw money scam glitch fest garbage. Some one needs to step up and bring us a game that OFFENDS the fake game critics and remind the industry who really pays their bills.

When people are angry, like you suggest, its cos we feel scammed (which we have been). These AAA title devs are quickly turning into the hollywood of videogames, same regurgitated bs, with no passion, nuance or real talent involved. They should go bust, if they cant sort out their organisation and PR. Hopefully that doesnt happen though. They should be paying BIG money to get back the guys who worked on BF1
Facts!
I called it from the second I watched your video going over the trailer and the details.
Specialists, pandering, poor design, lack of content. I feel bad for everyone that bought onto the excitement and tried to say "it's literally a sequel to BF4!" When they flashed a Rendezook and a color palette in front of you while building a hero shooter under your feet.
With how crushingly bad it's been and how staunchly it's been defended by all parties, I just hope whatever comes next pulls the same trick MW2019 did.
But this isn't a surprise ultimately
Im still surprised how many people preordered it, it feels like nobody played the open beta.
RIP BF !

The only thing that knocked me off the fence i was on for “preorder” or “dont” was when the weapon list was released. Vanilla classes from bf3/4 had more weapons than the entirety of the 2042 launch list
Respect for being honest and speaking your mind.
Other content creators trying to pump this game and franchise when they know it’s in a poor state is just wrong.
Xbox recently had a free weekend with 2042, and that was the first time I played it since beta. Aside from the specialists and all the other common issues, more than anything (to my surprise) I just found the game boring to play. Those massive maps means there's a lot of empty space, and I didn't feel like I was on a battlefield, like I might with previous games, including BF5.
I felt the same way. Like the game is just empty on these huge maps and I was running forever just to be shot once I got somewhere. The ironic thing is now I'm hooked on Hell Let Loose and those maps are huge and there's a ton of running in that game, but it's different somehow. It's fun!
I tried the 10 hour free on Xbox and man This game sucks so much. No destruction, no teamwork, anybody can be a anti tank, support, whatever. This is not a BATTLEFIELD game.

@@haki3353 Because anyone can be AT, that actually conversely means you'll often have games where _no one_ is AT. If you play for any amount of time and actually pay attention to vehicles, you'll find that they often go completely untouched while they steamroll through objective after objective, until someone like me shows up and pulls out the AT gear as a recon support.
Removal of the class restrictions makes people feel more free to play how they want and how they're most effective, and 90% of them have decided to play as if they're Assault from BF3 and BF4; assault rifles and medbags are about all you'll see used.
The possibility of a good bf game has been sacrificed on the altar of being "big" and trying to out-COD COD. I don't see how it can be saved - the idea of massive, mostly destructionless, maps is fundamentally flawed. It needs a ground up redesign to be a bf game.
It’s a shame how much of a let down this game was. I’ve been playing bf1 again and it just seems better in every way. It actually feels like I’m in the game while on this I can’t even choose my classes.
It’s so funny seeing how there are regular soldiers in the trailer, and then the game launches with clones all over the map.
Honestly Westie good on you. Not many people will see they have issues or negative aspects to themselves, act on those and, not only that, but see it happening again and catch yourself before leaning back into it.
Keep up the good content mate and do what's good for you.
Oh westie
I feel bad for you
You were on such a hype for this game and it was such a let down.
I remember on his live when he was like “ill be quiet for the trailer” and he started talking over it and everyone in the chat was like “shut tf up”💀
Let’s hope this is the final nail in the coffin for battlefield, and let it serve as a cautionary tale to everyone else about how NO ONE is too big to fail. Not even the cash grabbing suit wearing executives at EA.
Nooo
In that case i want a refund, as sad as it is to say that money could have gone into better places and games

I wish this would happen to call of duty. it makes me sick to my stomach.
Great honest video. Respect
fantastic video and I think you have the right perspective on things.
I have tried to love it myself. Played it non stop when it came out. I really really wanted to love it. When the energy ran out to make myself play it I also found myself just saying ‘this isn’t fun’ and playing something else. I wish the maps had more choke points, I wish you can easily jump in with your mates in squads or servers. It’s okay but we have such high expectations as the other games are so good.
I can't believe how bad the squad/party is to even get into a game together with. It's entirely counterintuitive.
Choke points
Nope, big open fields and roaming across the map forever
@@watersnortmoment3734 i mean it's not that bad maybe because I play on PS5 and only on my free time since day one. Game plays like a movie at times can only imagine when/if they totally fix it with tons of DLC .
Always a supporter man ❤️ With you all the way.
Great work recognizing your shifts and growing in a positive direction, mate.
what a candid and refreshing attitude to hear spoken out, such a positive voice towards less toxicity in gaming discourse and journalism. kudos westie. I hope more people can take the general attitude you have taken towards a video game. which we all know and love. but is a video game nonetheless. and shouldn't be put on a pedestal. wish you all the best, peace!
I could have overlooked all the other problems. Except the stupid specialists. Why in the world did they feel the need to abandon the tried and true style of classes for those stupid freaking specialists.
Exactly. If you wanna sell skins, do it the way you did in bf5. There was no need to change the way the game plays. However, I wouldn't also overlook huge empty poorly designed maps no one asked for. It's clear as day they don't listen to the community and doubt they will in the opposite direction. I think the only thing they might do is bringing back the scoreboard which will give a lot of people the Stockholm syndrome
I think they could still make the specialist work but put them back into classes like Mackay and Sundance in the assault class and lock them down to like c5 and like medical crate or something. That way ea can keep their microtransactions they want so bad and still bring back the core gameplay.
@@smilingsamurai5590 this is where most of my confusion comes from. I would've been content, not happy, with that. I believe the reason is the guns tho, they didn't make enough to lock any behind certain classes.
@@jerben9462 yeah thats probably it. But I think locking it down would help a lot. I don't get why they changed the formula so much. They could've easily kept things similar to the old stuff and added in skins.
The specialists need to be completely removed and back to traditional classes. No compromises. No locking the specialists in classes. Get rid of them.
Appreciate your honesty Westie very much enjoy your content you don't seem to be the only youtuber that has stopped playing
I find it funny that in the first second of the trailer in the video, it shows the bugged flares not stopping the stinger or whatever lol
I can truly say that I called it, as soon as I saw specialists, I called it.
I tried so hard to have fun playing this game with my squad mates. I realized I rather spend my limited free time on better games. Very sad how this all turned out.
This is true 😞I’m just sad boys, vanguard isn’t that good either. I just want a good modern day FPS
I discovered your channel with this video. You sound like a genuine and caring person and I agree on all the points you mention.
We have so much to look up to in 2022, let’s not let our disappointment take over it all.
Feel the same way too. Waited ages for the game to release, paid the premium for the ultimate edition, and I think I've played it 10 times since launch. Last time I played it was early December.
The most fun I’ve had in this game is on the skyscraper map riding around on the little electric cart thing running people over
Hi Westie, this echos a lot of my feelings and views about 2042 too. I also feel disappointed and frustrated, but also hated the toxic anger in the community.
A suggestion going forward, how about playing some past battlefield games on your channel occasionally? Jackfrags does this often and it’s really great.
I reckon that's a great idea! I'd love to see content like that
What about the anger is toxic?
@Male Sensitivity jack is a special gem
If only JackFrags was as honest as you Westie
Jack frags cant be honest becase hes getting but fucked by ea
@@lotto_et4436 can you blame him?

Good on you Westie! Your me content helped me decide not to buy this game. I’m no longer interested in warzone at all either, so your honesty is much, much appreciated. You’re not gonna lie to make content and I respect that.
I've had more fun playing bfv with randoms then i have playing 2042 with friends which is one of the staples of the series
I could not agree more.
BF3, (which I absolutely loved), was the last Battlefield that I played extensively. I completely skipped out on the past three, so I was looking forward to 2042's release, figuring it'd be 3's spiritual successor. After seeing the negative reviews, I waited until a free to play weekend, tried the game out and, like many of us, was very disappointed and did not bother to purchase the game after the free to play weekend.
BUT - fortunately, the experience rekindled my interest in the franchise, so I decided to give BFV a try two weeks ago and I'm in love with the game. The maps, soundtrack, gunplay, gameplay, and content is everything I remembered what made Battlefield...Battlefield. Like I said, didn't give BFV a shot at launch, so I wasn't around to experience its incomplete state, but I'm kinda glad that's how it turned out. I find the game supremely enjoyable to play - with or without friends - and I'm very much looking towards trying BF1 once I tire of BFV, which doesn't look to be anytime soon.
Tbh ea has shown that they are disgrace when it comes to the content they give us, the fact that they jump on the mainstream false narratives and tries to virtue signal here and there in the newer battlefields, the fact that they are just an extremely greedy company in how they treat employees and all the micro-transactions for incomplete broken games. Im absolutely sick of that company and will never purchase anything from them again as long as they do not change their ways. I would hope the vast majority of gamers who wish things were back to how they were a decade and a half ago when games were released complete and had so much replay value and most importantly no micro-transactions, also feel the same and take action in the form of boycott against this despicable company
Hear-hear!
Genuine question as I haven't had the time or resources to pick up a BF game since BF4 but I still watch from a distance. Is 2042 in a worse place than BF4 was at launch?
BF4 had heaps of bugs but the game was still good and fun.
2042s biggest issues isnt the bugs, its the whole foundation. The gameplay is mediocre, the maps are large, empty, flat and no destruction. The specialists are TERRIBLE.
If you made this gane entirely bug free, it still wouldnt address the main problems.
@@OnlinetoArgue that's the sense I get. BF4 was still fun, even if broken at launch. And obviously we know the incredible job DICE did turning it around. Doesn't sound like that's in the cards for 2042, huh?
been playing since BF2 and it's just so sad to see the game like this. Great video, Westie! keep it up
That old Colonel 100 was right all along. He knew what was up.
EA/Dice need to split and let Dice do their own thing. EA is the villain here
The whole game can only be solved when they make a 180° turn with their mindset. They can only make a comeback by ditching their plans and listen to the fans
EA and there lazy stockholders are the biggest problem
Even if ea/dice Split, I wouldn't hold out hope for the Battlefield franchise. The people at dice that made bf2042 are not the same team that made bf4, or bf1, heck most of the team for bf5 are gone.
We cant keep pretending that Dice dont have any blame here, battlefield 4, battlefront 1 and 2, battlefield hardline, battlefield 5 and 2042. All either devoid of content, broken or made for a completley different fan base. Its time dice grew some balls and stopped releasing broken shit, and by the way DICE do have a say when a game is released it not all EA.
I disagree. I think DICE owns this failure 100%. DiCE management decides the direction of the game, manages the execution of the concepts, and hires/fires the developer talent.
In Tom Henderson's video about the 2042 timeline, he explains the many issues with the game - all of them are management related.
DICE has hemorrhaged experienced and talented developers. In my working experience, when there is a mass Exodus of talented employees, it has been from culture or a worry about a companies direction. I think there is a culture problem at DICE. The gross mismanagement of 2042 supports this.
This is all my opinion, of course.
Agreed. Appreciate the thoughtful commentary.
Man, playing that kick-ass trailer in the background really hurt....
The switch from producing bf1, probably up there with the most immersive fps of all time to this, with 6 years worth of better technology, is pretty criminal
Right? I just don't get it. Thought the series was going to evolve and get better from bf1 onwards.
@@JustGetBlazed there’s more shit to do in bf4 and bf3 than in bf2042 lol
@@JustGetBlazed this is a joke, right?
Glad to see you put this out, I’m a BF player but I have the same feelings about BF2042. The lack of content, the class system problem, and the specialist took the fun out of it for me. I will continue to watch and support this channel and maybe one day they will fix BF to where it isn’t so bad. Until then I’ll watch you play other games as I am also exploring other titles. Again thanks for making this video.
I also stepped away from playing it. Going to wait and see what they do with these updates.
And most of my friends have gone back to Battlefield 5 while I have taken a general break from first person shooters. I actually really miss historical battles. Sorry but I think Battlefield can specialise in a more focused segment which is far more likely to please. For example the Korean war or going back to the Vietnam war. These are 2 good paths that could have been taken. Or maybe try the desert fox option that was made a long time ago. I personally don't think 128 players is the issue here for breakthrough. But balancing does become far more important as individual skill or even a single team can make less impact.
Its so weird and funny, but looking at it now, BF5 is a masterpiece compared to this ripoff
I wish more people had your mindset Westie, so many people just don’t know when to move on from a game. Sometimes this overwhelming non constructive negativity can become an obsession
My question is if you buy battlefield 5 from steam then do you have to buy EA subscription? PLEASE REPLY
More respect for you @westie than in the past. Couldn't agree more with your sentiments. Appreciate the comments.
The only good thing that's come from 2042 for me atleast is that I've found a new love and appreciation for BF5 even though that game is flawed it feels more like what Battlefield is to me and I've genuinely enjoyed it unlike 2042
Haha me too mate, I love it now!! Never even played the pacific stuff, and I'm now a sniper it seems! This is like a while new BF game for me and the servers in Australia are very healthy unlike 2042 which with crossplay off are very quiet. Apart from the lost $160 I lost I'm kinda OK with things
Y'all BF5 has alwsays been great you guys just didnt like it because it wasn't "MoDeRn" 😰 and BF5 still had a years worth of new content yet people were whining and crying over BF5 and well here you go you finally got your 2042 🤣
10/10 comment I completely love and appreciate V more than I ever did the last few years its been such a blast playing it again. It feels like a battlefield game.
@@tacobandit1926 battlefield five was a complete wreck for almost two years until they fixed it and then abandoned it to move on. On top of that the reason most people hated it was the heavy-handed push of modern identity politics while being advertised as aligned with historical events. Its good now after it was abysmal in the beginning.
Though even then it was far better at launch then bf2042 will ever be.
@@tacobandit1926 I don't think anybody was whining about it not being "modern." Maybe there are those who think that, it was mainly the marketing and trailer they've shown if anything. But regardless, BF5, looking at it now is like the last "good" BF game

From that epic rendezook trailer moment, it was just all downhill from there :(

but everyone knew that classes were gone and still pre-ordered and then complained that there were no classes..
@@zeppodeppo that doesn't make removing classes a good decision? No point to your comment really. Cheers though
@@romlemmon the point he's making is that EA/DICE keep getting rewarded despite the bad decisions made. So in their eyes it's not really a problem. Actions speak louder than words etc.
Good video. I respect how you changed direction and seem to have grown a lot as a creator. Many of the older bf videos felt like not much more than rehashing some news to get to 10 minutes. Feels a lot more mature now.
My primary annoyance with this game right now is my specialist and vehicle customization keeps getting reset...like all the time. It’s not fun at all when you jump into a vehicle just to have its default loadout.
My friend, I fully support what you're trying to do. And i got the impression, you want to be heard and I hope I'm right because there is something critical here that is happening with games and people are not doing anything about it. Can you count the number of premier games that have been released in the past 5 years that were top tier games with huge budgets, an established fan base and the backing of a well known studio or development company? I remember when it first started to happen and we got some b.s. excuse about last minute things needing to finished that weren't and a patch was available to fix it. I also remember when such things weren't possible. Games were sold on some ROM media that couldn't be updated, there was no such thing as a downloadable patch. The fact was that it was necessary for the software company to finish and package A COMPLETE AND BUG FREE PIECE OF SOFTWARE. Simply put, it was a one time transaction, the complete package you walked out of the store with and you went home and played it. THAT IS STILL THE WAY IT SHOULD BE WHEN YOU EXCHANGE YOUR MONEY FOR A GAME. It should be fully capable of running, as is, without needing patches, DLC content or whatever excuses they are starting to have ready following the release of a game THEY KNOW ISN'T COMPLETE. They've known, I'm sure, months ahead of time that they will be going "to print," so to speak, with an incomplete and inferior product. We can't keep accepting this. They want it to be the norm and we're letting it become the norm. There is NO BUSINESS THAT SELLS YOU A PARTIALLY COMPLETE PRODUCT OR A PARTIALLY COMPLETE AND FLAWED PRODUCT AND EXPECTS YOUR FULL PAYMENT UP FRONT. Imagine what this game would've looked like if it was a dinner you had just purchased or a car you had just purchased. You'd be pushing it home and expected to go pick up parts and finish building it yourself? Is that what they'll angle towards? Incomplete games, sold and released with the expectations that people with mods and developers working on their own time will release updates, mods, patches that will finish the game for them? It is absolute bullSSSS! If we keep accepting this and doing nothing about, it WILL GET WORSE. There should be a law that if they accept money in advance for it and release the product without warning the customer and giving them the chance to reclaim their money, such that if the game is released incomplete or incapable of running, so short of features that it promised that charges of fraud could be made, then refunds must be issued with a penalty, maybe 2x the cost of the game. Remember how good they are to us when we want to return a game? Lets repay the courtesy in kind.
Very understanding reason, Westie. I’ve been hopeful that 2042 would finally deliver the Battlefield experience we’ve been waiting for, only to be met with disappointment. You’re health and enjoyment is more important than trying to force yourself to play this game. I hope you’ll be able to make content that you feel excited about in the future.
I share the same sentiment I'll launch the game and either quit after the first match or won't finish the game. This game had potential and can still be great if Dice listens and implements some changes. However, I don't feel confident they will.
I'm not too confident either. They'll make excuses and and pull the whole " we pulled devs for the next battlefield game so we won't be able to do much for 2042" and we'll be back in the same boat with the next one. It's just about how much money they can make at this point. Their motto should be Cash in, garbage out.
This is exactly how i feel. I'll redownload and play when an update comes out to see how it feels but till then, I've discovered a love for the game Enlisted
I played it a few days after release. But stopped cause it didn't... Hit me. I didn't come back to it since then.
Never heared much about it.
It's just... Sad.
Don’t be sad, that’s just how it works sometimes

I’m back on Battlefield 1 now after uninstalling 2042 back in early December. Still a phenomenal game and such a fun experience. Hopefully 2042 is a better game 6 months from now.
Same
You can't save a game when it's core is rotten
You shouldn't have to wait 6 months for a game to be fucking playable.
2042 cant be saved,
That's a fact jack, you can bet on that.
Nice honest analysis. I also had unfortunately the feeling that this game is just "not fun". Even if it will become completely bug free... it's a feeling, but sometimes it's all that matters. Invest your time and work in things you like ;)
If they're going to keep specialists, they should just limit it to one of a particular specialist active on either team at all times, like how Battlefront 2 has their hero system. You allow for classes and enable specialists when they're available.
Maybe even just 1 per a full squad only
Great video Westie, really respectful but got the point across. It is tiring seeing all the rage and hate from many, but your video is clear, to the point and makes sense. Personally, I was playing the game up until last week. Just came back to it after playing some others and its the performance and network stuttering which is my main issue so going to wait for next comms. Thanks again for the great vid.
