I have no trust in the established triple AAA studios, they just don’t have what it takes to make a good game anymore. When games like Boulders Gate, Palworld, and Helldivers, shows you that a real game can still be made.

    • @jodomarj9063
      @jodomarj9063 9 месяцев назад +50

I will also like to add people coming from COD and Halo DO NOT inspire confidence in the creation of a new BF game. Also, if they are still using their fail frostbite engine that they didn’t spend the money to develop the tools necessary to create a fully functional game, then BF will still be shit. I hate being so negative, but that is the reality of it.

Battlefield just needs to get back to it's roots and quit trying to be a different call of duty. Battlefield 4 dropped with 70 something guns. They also need to get back to the ways levels were built in those earlier Battlefield games with destruction. We don't need tornados. With them going back to 64 players I'm hoping that's their plan. Battlefield BR........................"SIGH"
Nobody wants it, nobody asks for it, we just want a good Batllefield game...................I dont care if its a separate free to play crap or what. Battlefield is not about being a BR or an extraction type game. Its just wasted resources that could be put to a Battlefield game that could bring back the franchise from the brink of it being dead completely.
Calling it now...........Battlefield BR is going to flop hard. The new main BF game is also going to flop hard like 2042 or harder, articles will come out stating that resources were taken away from main game to make BR and thats why its such a mess, or something along these lines

Personally would like to see five classes instead of four. Assault, Medic, engineer, Support and Recon, all with weapons and gadgets locked to each class. More dynamics to weapon and character customization, Eg you run slower with a larger weapon or equipping armored plating. Reload times vary depending on what you're doing, fastest reload when stationary, looking around 10% penalty and a penalty that increases the faster you move. Meaning staying behind cover and bunny hopping about the place will have wildly different reload times. I would be fine with keeping 128 players maps as long as they do it right this time, too few objective for the scale of the maps and i felt like they could've added in some bonuses to flags, Eg, capture C1, C2, C3 you gain an AC-130 overhead.

If they have still Battle Royale in 2025, I am out from the start. That game mode is oversaturated and overused. Give us back proper Battlefield experience.
BattleBit Remastered shows that there is still NEED for such games. I dropped out of Battlefield 5 when Firestorm update dropped. I hate BR. I am old school gamer tho and BR was not a new concept to me (basically it's Last Man Standing game mode from Unreal Tournament ;p).

Them trying to change gunplay almost two years into the title, whilst simultaneously having the worst mouse input out of any game in recent memory (while also essentially denying its existence) is honestly mind boggling to me. Why do they hate their player base so much?

Tl;dr: let people who played previous titles oversee the games development and leadership.
I mean right at around the 3:00 mark, all of the people overseeing the game’s development and leadership are just previous run n gun games developers and team leaders, so… are we expecting a failed hybrid again? Why not reviving MoH to have a real answer for CoD and just let people who actually played and ENJOYED older battlefield games (BF1942-BF4, BC and 1943 included) to have a hand in the next title? I always said that I won’t PO another BF game after V but my inner fanboy always got the better of me, and I’m sure a lot of people who got 2042 early felt the same thing.
Not again, until we see some real changes take into effect

All I know is the next Battlefield title will need to be on the same level as Battlefield 3, 4 and 1 to gain any of the old fans back, on top of keeping the new ones. It’s a long shot and something I unfortunately don’t think can be accomplished but it’s something I want to see happen.

Just on the off chance someone at EA is here watching, please, remember - and I feel like I don't speak just for myself here - you guys don't n e e d to release this game in 2025. You guys can release a game in 2026, 2028, 2038, 2050, 2142. You can release this game, who knows how long from now. As long as it launches in a good state, and plays like a Battlefield game, we'll buy it.
This fanbase has been hurting for a rock solid entry in this series for over half a decade now. BFV in 2018 was a flop. BF2042 was a flop. They didn't launch in good states, they didn't finish in good states, and the journey between beginning and end with both of them was, frankly, painful. And that's a shame on it's own, because now as a result we probably won't see the near future or distant past settings revisited for quite some time, and I would say those games' settings were the most interesting things about them - I digress, it has been a long, downward turn for this franchise.
I and I'm sure many others, would be very happy if whoever is in charge of this game takes their time, however much of it they may need, maybe even reads up on why it is that games like BF4, 3, BC2 and the like were all so loved - things like the destruction, the weapon selection, the map layouts, *the engineer class,* and by extension infantry vs. vehicle interactions - and takes all of it into account as they build what will hopefully, finally be a faithful, feature complete entry in the series after so many years of just not getting one.
Long as we get a return to form, we will pay for it. Doesn't matter when. And if we don't, we won't. Simple as.

It's worth mentioning that multiple studios working on a game isn't always a good thing. While yes a lot of devs working on something is good, multiple studios can lead to a lot of communication issues and disagreements. One example is the modern MW3 game which was made between Activision, Sledgehammer, and Infinity Ward. And iirc infinity ward caused a lot of issues for sledgehammer due to lack of communication

I think the main reason the battle royal is so popular is because all of the most popular games are free to play. If we got a game like Og battlefield free to play it would take over and if they put one or two more war or looter shooters type games the gaming atmosphere will change I think most people want that but they just are stuck.

Next Battlefield needs to be immersive maintaining a sense of gritty realism, and have enhanced forms of Levolution events. Stick to the core gameplay philosophy of what makes Battlefield unique, by ramping up the destruction physics. First priority is making Battlefield great again, with it's own core fundamental pillars building a good foundation

I personally enjoyed Firestorm a lot, it just had so many bugs that were never addressed or that were addressed way too late for the game to succeed. It also wasn't FTP while Fortnite was and was blowing up beyond belief. I also don't think they should go with the whole "Team objective" type Battle Royale, I think it's going to be a massive mistake. Sure they can make that as a side game mode on top of a regular BR game mode but just going with an objective based mode is a bad idea. People want a fast paced, smooth experience, good sound quality and something they can get in and out of and onto the next match.

The problem with 2042's setting is that they didn't build on it at all. The premise was great but it was completely empty outside of that. They really should have gone down a single player route with 2042, then I might've gave a damn about the characters they introduced.

Personally I don’t mind the 2042 “Near-Future Combat”. People like SquidDog using wingsuits have really evolved the game to be like a Just Cause game. Which is extremely fun, and I do think the seriousness of military mobilization on objectives was bit lost with more expression.
    Destructive environments made BF.
I’d also love a BR BF.
Ultimately we want a BF3/4 remake.
BattleBit, Arma, Halo, Squad, Insurgency all show we need better games with comms and TEAM PLAY.

As a designer, I think mild worrying is reasonable for a leader leaving mid-development. It's mixed for me. I don't care much for singleplayer BF content personally, but I care about multiplayer and overall game health, and having a successful singleplayer campaign bring in a million+ players is actually really important for that.
'Quit willingly' is one of those things you can't know for sure. But also it's totally irrelevant (from the gamer perspective why should we care what the reason was? All that matters is an important contributor left, which means we would expect at least a little disruption/delay to be caused by that).
Disappointed about the royale garbage. FFA game modes are for casual kids.
Also sorta wish we could have a free-to-play core multiplayer experience a bit like Planetside 2's model. I think that's actually the best for both devs and players, but players have this irrational hatred of it and so the safe bet is for BF to stick with the classic b2p model. In fact the safe bet is _probably_ to go all-out nostalgia by also having player-run servers be a feature.
Thinking about player-run servers does make the designer in me want to empower players without losing the core experience:
    * players connect to "Battle Servers", which are either player-run or Official
    * battle servers connect to a progression server, which is invisible to players except it's where player progression is tracked (unlocking weapons, vehicles, etc)
    * progression servers would _also_ be either the one Official server (permanently tracking your progress) or player-run
    * with player-run Battle Servers, this lets them customize any part of the experience they want: map rotation, weapons, "Hardcore Mode" with high lethality, etc
    * with player-run Progression Servers, they could take that even further by letting players do anything from simple "Everything Unlocked Instantly" to "4x XP" servers to "BF RPG" servers where they literally have a completely distinct tech tree you progress through (ideally letting players add modded weapons to the mix)
As for destruction, it's fun to hear that's coming back in a bigger way, though honestly I haven't minded 2042. The main draw has always been mixed-infantry/vehicle combat for me, and while destructible buildings enhances that it's not required.

This is the very last thing this franchise needs. It's sapping resources that can be used to polish the multiplayer or campaign. This news irritates me more than it excites me. I won't be touching this mode at all. BF doesn't need a BR mode. FTP will not be this mode's saving grace.

I just dont understand how they can lose so much money and keep doing what they are doing. I have not touched the last two battlefields until they were under 20 bucks. BF5 was 20 bucks like 6 months after it came out. Those are massive hits but i guess EA making billions off all the sports games negates all that.

Problem is you still have people pre-ordering. The people that wont pre-order and prefer old style battlefield are told to basically move on from battlefield if you dont like how this franchise is going. Battlefield isnt cod or pub, its battlefield, but i guess its lost its identity, which seems to be a trend irl lately.
