@m.a3914 No German cars can do what the XPeng can do in urban settings except maybe the EQS but within a very limited range and under very limited conditions. The OS on the German cars is awful though, Benz is like Windows 98 compared to most modern Chinese cars. Hello. I reckon with your experience and knowledge of Chinese vehicles, you might have an answer to this. The xpeng G6 was recently introed in South east Asia. Do you happen to know why their PRND stalk @5:54 is taken from the 2000s Mercedes-Benz?TQIA.
Believe it or not, a lot of brands use the same stalk. They're not always made by the brand itself, sometimes a supplier makes them, and they end up finding life in many vehicles after that for whatever reason. Early Teslas also used Mercedes stalks and window buttons, so I suspect this one was just continued and a bunch of brands thought it looked good and did the job.

Very curious to see where they price it. Even at 40k though it's a steal over a Corsa electric. Not sure when they'll expand the charging network though, they'll need more sales first.
@@InsideChinaAuto quickest way to make sales is do it all online with a few of their own showrooms and keep the price rock bottom, once the sales arrive then prices can be adjusted for future models having chased off the competition. Funny how everyone mentions the Model Y's self proclaimed 850 litres of trunk space without ever wondering where this additional space - more than 50% more space compared to this one! - are supposed to be. In my opinion Tesla is measuring it wrong, to put it mildly...
I have heard as much, that they use another method to measure it. Can't verify that, it might be they measure to the glass and others measure to the top of the seats, I don't know, but it is a bit suspicious.
The EU has come up with countermeasures for the rapid development of electric vehicles in China. Announce the launch of a countervailing investigation into China's electric vehicles.
Well it's not come up with anything. It's set up an investigation to find out something they've already decided to be true, neglecting to mention that they're subsidising their own brands on battery production, their brands have been supported heavily in China with local governments helping them pay for factories and offices to be constructed, and some of their brands are even ENDING production in Europe to build their cars in China, all while legislating small, affordable cars out of existence and trying to convince everyone that enormous battery SUVs are the answer instead. Bunch of arrogant fools, and I should know, I've worked with plenty of them.
You know what, I'd agree in that it's so good at what it does as a family car. For the many people not like me who just want a car that nails the A-B in comfort and peace, this car is so so good at that. Sure it's not a racing car or anything massively exciting, but it's brilliant for families.
@@InsideChinaAuto that's exactly the thing, capsule on wheels that efficently conveys goods and people from A to B. Cars are becoming trams. I want drama 😂. Great review, thank you.
Their industry has developed in overdrive in the last 6 or so years. Where they used to make pretty bad cars, they've taken the opportunity of electrification and a lot of investment, both government and private, into this space to step up. It's honestly stunning and the intense competition only makes it move faster. They're developing at speed others simply cannot compete with right now.

They brought in some big names from Germany and around the world. They helped them create cars that can compete with the world's best. On top of that they use parts from other car companies.
Unfortunatly X Pung..... Sorry...X Peng... I heard the video and the person saying X Pung.... Anyway... XPeng G6 is great but will not achieve FSD anytine soon unless they joint or lease from Tesla.... So far versio. 12.5.... Is way ahead of everyone.... Soooo Model Y still the best SUV in the world
X-Pung/Pong is how it's pronounced in China. As for FSD, we'll just have to see what it's capable of when it comes to China and if it can really handle difficult situations. The G6 can in China for the most part, I doubt FSD is ready for all the scooters here but we'll see.
They've got a lot more than you think, but equally they've proven that it's not the most difficult thing in the world. Cars like the G6 are really well made and with some incredible innovation in building methods.
I think the main advantage of Model Y is that the price is ok and for it you get massively practical car capable of not just driving 5 people comfortably but also huge boot capacity. It has much bigger luggage space and on top of that it has a frunk. Internally the things does not look great either. G6 looks very claustrophobic on the driver side and it doesn't seems to offer as much space as Tesla Model Y. The Tesla also looks more modern inside due to the more minimalist design and the display on Tesla looks more premium. In fact the material quality of Tesla Model Y looks to be better than the G6. Overall despite having some very nice features it is nothing groundbreaking. It is not better than a Tesla Model Y imo. After all the main purpose of an SUV is to be practicle and Model Y is far more practicale. In terms of the tech it has nothing on Tesla so that's not a turning factor. It definitely looks great from the outside but a dissapointing interior. Very claustrophobic for the driver and doesn't come with more space than a Model Y. The material quality is not on par with Tesla. A lot of plastic is used where Tesla not so much. Xpeng should be smart with the pricing.
@m.a3914 Then you might want to judge a car's feeling on how it is when you sit inside. I definitely wouldn't say the G6 feels claustrophobic or that the materials are worse than a Tesla, quite the opposite in fact. But some people love having a car that looks like it comes with zero options and not even a logo on the steering wheel, that's true, others prefer a more homely feel. I think the G6 does a really nice job on that side. As for space, I do think the Y is bigger in the trunk but also some people mentioned Tesla measure their figures differently so their figures are maybe not quite accurate, much like they measure their 0-100 times with a rolling start.
@@InsideChinaAuto Nope there is no difference in how Tesla measures the space. They measure it in litres. It is just much much much bigger than what G6 offers. Combine that with the frunk and we are close to 2 times more space. Well I see it in the video and has a lot less space on the driver side than a Tesla. The central console is too massive for some reason and by looking at you it looks to be very claustrophobic. Either way regardless of actually being claustrophobic or not the space is simply less given how massive the central console is.
@m.a3914 And what do you plan to do with it? Sit in the middle of the car? Put a plant pot on your wireless charger? The Model Y doesn't have storage space under the centre console like the G6 so your space argument doesn't quite work. And yes, Tesla measures in litres but how they take the measurements is different. Also they don't have 800-volt so can't charge as fast. And seeing as you're obviously a Tesla shareholder (it's always very obvious) and you now put such value on ambient lighting since the Model 3 got it, the Y doesn't have ambient lighting either.

It's kind of boring, but what modern car isn't.
@myfavoritethings4504 Haha, you're welcome. If you like fun and drama, a Lynk & Co 03 is entertaining, as is the BYD Seagull surprisingly.
my kids put up with a sedan. keep em grounded. They're not that special
Sedans are king (after coupes)
Nice🇸🇦
I think so too.
Tezla counts capacity up to the roof, not the trunk shelf
I thought so
what is incredible price 28k$?! are you kidding me? china ev car?! with 66kw regular battery 😂 it’s way expensive nowadays
This car also isn't the same price as it was when this review was filmed, so that's probably why.
how is it possible the Chinese made such a nice car in such a short time? never heard Chinese car 5 years ago
Their industry has developed in overdrive in the last 6 or so years. Where they used to make pretty bad cars, they've taken the opportunity of electrification and a lot of investment, both government and private, into this space to step up. It's honestly stunning and the intense competition only makes it move faster. They're developing at speed others simply cannot compete with right now.
that's not how CCP works haa?@@InsideChinaAuto
@americannumber2 Well you might not think so but then I doubt you've ever been here, which means you're basing all you know on what you hear online. If I were to do that, I'd think every US citizen was addicted to fentanyl and roaming the streets like in a zombie movie. Fortunately I don't judge America on that

They brought in some big names from Germany and around the world. They helped them create cars that can compete with the world's best. On top of that they use parts from other car companies.
I describe this car as
AN EGG ON WHEELS
Same crap said about the tesla model 3&Y then. 😏
@@4literv6it’s not a bad thing tho😰 and yes 3 and y is literally an egg
@@cocoaiscool2709 more like a fish.
@@johnsmith-cw3woI can see that 😂
It is quite egg-like, but I also like that.
There is no such a thing as middle aged man
Haha, OK. A 'phase before old age' man.
If the reviewer can learn the brand name it would be a lot more enjoyable watching the video than hearing (ex-pung) every couple of seconds..
Learn Chinese mate then come back to me. It's not X-Peng like one similar reviewer to me says all the time, it's pronounced X-Pung.
@InsideChinaAuto what I was referring to, is pronouncing it like (shao-pung) instead of (ex-pung)
@@30zaleon I'm not the one who wrote the brand name XPeng. I go with what they created.
Don't compare the trunk space with Tesla model Y´s inflated number. Tesla measures trunk space differently than other brands in Europe and Asia.
Aha, that's good to know. They also measure 0-100 from a rolling start too I believe.
@@InsideChinaAuto they also ''fudge'' the range numbers... Tesla sued in federal court for allegedly misrepresenting range of its electric vehicles.
What a funny car. This rear window is ridiculous. 😅😅
It is quite comical.
Chinese wants to make money but they haven’t car making experience
Have you seen a G6 in person or just through video? Genuinely curious.
@@InsideChinaAuto In your video
Nothing special.
I think that's what makes it good. It does everything you want it to without a fuss.
tezla, scammers, give me back my money for not delivering the vehicle to me and for scamming me out of the costs of accessories for this scrap metal, I will advertise for you until I get my money back and by the way, this happened in February 2022
So what did they do exactly?
@@InsideChinaAuto when placing the order, I had to pay money and I was supposed to pick up the car in July-August 2022. After trying to contact seller several times, I found out that they didn't know when they would have the car and told me to wait or I would lose my money, and I was prepared to pick it up in these months, and in May I bought accessories for the Y model such as a charger, a key, a cover, a tarpaulin for the car, cosmetics, a cable for public chargers, a jack and small items, all about USD 1,200. I waited and in December I received an e-mail that there was a chance, but they were not sure if it would be 100%. I wrote that it would be better if If anything, it's March in the spring, because in the winter I don't know how the batteries work and I'm far from home. And they said they would set it for the 2nd quarter of 2023, I replied that so be it. At the beginning of March, I received a text message asking if I wanted to pick up the car in March. I was surprised and replied that YES. After about a week, I entered my account and saw that my order was not there. I thought it was normal. I'm about to pick it up. I found out from my friend who picked up the car that his car was still on the website even after he picked it up. Miraculously, I managed to contact the seller by phone and after giving the order number, he said that the order had been canceled, I said by whom and he said he doesn't know and tells me to place a new order and pay because the money is gone and wait again. I've had enough after almost 14 months
