    This is an exceptional review of the 2024 Xpeng G6 ER! Your review is both informative and engaging, making the technical details of the car accessible to everyone. I was particularly impressed by your vivid descriptions of the driving experience, clear and concise explanation of the technology and your ability to weave in personal anecdotes about the car aesthetics and functionality especially the low placement of the brake lights. I think It's clear you have a strong command of language and a deep understanding of the automotive industry. I'm definitely bookmarking this review for future reference! I look forward to your future car reviews.

    I bought G6 primarily for rear seat comfort and space. I felt sunked in at the back of the Sea Lion 7 which made it feel cramped. I also don't like the high location of the door handles in SL7. The G6 has a more open space feel which my kids appreciate, one of whom is special needs

      'Full self driving' of any variety is not legal in any country that actually cares about the value of human lives.

    • @networm78
      @networm78 Месяц назад +1

      The G6s exported overseas do not come with LiDARs, so no one outside China will get to experience the full XNGP for now. It needs to be trained for specific markets too, and I suppose that's not too feasible for cost and security reasons, for now. It may come in future models when LiDARs are no longer needed. e.g. the P7+.

    A good and detailed review and i totally agree with the ac vents controls, one thing that i disagree with though is comparing it with countryman SE or bmw ix1. There s nearly 70 to 100 k price difference between this and those two which s a considerable amount even if you re after a "dynamic" drive

    • @MalaysianMotoring
      @MalaysianMotoring  Месяц назад

      The iX1 is already available with significant discounts from dealers, and EV buyers cross-shop significantly. We've observed this from the Ioniq 5 which drew buyers away from premium brands.

    Few things to add here, the tire is EV specific but performance oriented while the primacy focus on economy/mileage. The AC can be adjusted via steering wheel left buttons and scroll wheel when ACC not active. The built in map/navigation does include charging as well but I get it it's just meh

      @MalaysianMotoring You're saying G6 is not a good-looking car?

    • @MalaysianMotoring
      @MalaysianMotoring  Месяц назад +11

      It is not "beautiful." It has the aesthetic appeal of a fried egg, and about as much design flair as wallpaper paste. It isn't ugly like a Model Y, but it is far from "beautiful." We're not sure how much of their Kool-Aid you've drunk, but just like the Mercedes-EQ cars, the XPENG G6 is a generic blob with some lights on it.

    • @ALZ23-bw6ru
      @ALZ23-bw6ru Месяц назад +3

      @MalaysianMotoring Beauty is subjective. What beautiful to you may not be to others and vice versa. That is your opinion. Kool-aid? Really? Are you 12 years old? I can only guess what's your taste is when it comes to cars.

    • @MalaysianMotoring
      @MalaysianMotoring  Месяц назад +5

      1. You began by inferring something we didn't say.
      2. If you're not familiar with the phrase 'drunk the Kool-Aid' then clearly you have bigger issues beyond suggesting that this white-good vehicle is "beautiful."

  • @robocop581
    @robocop581 Месяц назад

    Due to no ambient lighting, I suggest the light grey interior (white) as it looks brighter at night. If you have the black seats and it's night time, it will look very dark inside the car. I've been driving G6 at night and the grey seats pop out in low light

  • @robocop581

    Tailgating is not caused by low position of brake lights. Proper driving is two to three seconds behind a vehicle when it's moving. Brake lights have no bearing at all on safe distance from the vehicle in front. If you follow proper distancing, you should be able to see the brake lights on the G6 clearly

  • @ZZ-gj2kr
    @ZZ-gj2kr Месяц назад

    I applaud Aiman's honesty in reviewing and punching where it matters. Moving on to this Xpeng. It just joins a plethora of many modern cars that have been designed by manufacturers that lack wisdom where it matters most. Miniscule brake lights all the way down there and a thin 3rd brake light up north does spell a recipe for disaster. With all that autonomous safety, I think we still need sufficiently large rear combination lights and also a rear facing loud horn. And no glove compartment? And air conditioning vents that make no sense. Thank you Aiman for calling out these senseless omissions. Like I said. Car makers these days have less and less WISDOM. All high tech but not compassionate and empathetic to ensure a safe and undistracting driving experience. Wisdom before technology, please

      What can you usually fit in glove box that you fit in the huge centre console and the room underneath? Once you set your seating and the air-conditioning it is set and if it is warmer or you want colder you just use a voice command.

    • @robocop581
      @robocop581 Месяц назад

    Thanks for the review.
    Can any one explain to me why so many cars getting bigger and bigger rims these days? The tyres for such large rims are very expansive like more than double from 15 or 16 inch.
    Is there beside looks any practical reason for such huge rims?
    Also the place in the boot to keep your charging cables is not a good place.
    If you go on a trip with your family your boot full with luggages and bags how to get to your charging cables? Not impossible but very impractical

    • @MalaysianMotoring
      @MalaysianMotoring  Месяц назад +4

      1. Wheels are bigger to improve grip by reducing wall flex via thinner-side tyres.
      2. If you're trying to charge your car with all the luggage in it, chances are you're somewhere along your trip but not at your destination, therefore you'll be using a DCFC or a public AC charger. 100% of DCFCs and a very, very large portion of public AC chargers have their own cables.

    • @willidevegt8831
      @willidevegt8831 Месяц назад +1

      @@MalaysianMotoring thanks for your explanation.
      But with point 1 you mentioned reduced side wall size.
      But you can buy a 15 or 16 inch also in 45 size
      So you don't need to make a 19 or 20 inch for that further more these car I talk about are suvs not sports cars
      I a way I don't exact sports car performance of an suv.
      Honestly I returned to Malaysia only last year and I was thinking to buy a Proton X70 with 1.8 engine the reason I went to buy a Honda City Rs over the X70 was the tyre size and the price that comes with that.
      For me it makes no sense for an suv

      @@willidevegt8831 EVs tend to be much heavier due to the battery, provide more torque which require wider tires to reign in the power. If one were to use a 16" wheel, the tire would need to be large, which would result in a bouncy ride and less overall control of the vehicle, due to the instantaneous torque being delivered, lessening the size of the tire sidewall and increasing the rim size mitigate that. Narrower wheel/tires setup provides better range, while wider ones provides less range, more grip, better control and a firmer ride. They do cost more but, will perform better in emergency situations, with shorter stopping distance, especially if it's a sport oriented tire.
      Wheel and tire size choice factor in to the suspension setup as well. SUVs tend to have a higher ride height and higher center of gravity and are heavier, the closer to the ground you can make the vehicle, the more you mitigate body roll, the more control one has over the vehicle. Some people choose SUVs as they are easier to "slide into" rather than bending down to get into (also can be a age related thing, knee and back issues), plus some prefer sitting higher to have a higher vie of the road and feel safer.

      @mohdaffandiariffinmohdazma3283 Месяц назад

      Your aspect ratio determines how thick your sidewalls are. If you have a 15" with a 45 ratio sidewall, its going to be a puny tyre, assuming its a 195/205 section. @@willidevegt8831

      Interesting isnt it that we find the name funny just because we dont speak the language but for them(mainland China) would find it just normal.
      Let say someone brand their car as “Lari”, we might think it sound normal, but some language out there might translated it to “dog” or something that they find offensive.
