After several months of work, it's finally ready- Mega Man 2 Remade is out and ready for you to download! Enjoy the sound of the VRC6 playing your favorite music from Mega Man 2. Minimum price is $0, so you don't have to buy it to download it.
2 of the sound effects got removed - Mega Man teleporting out on the title screen and Wily's Saucer. I can't say that I was unhappy with the second one being missing though, as it's annoying. Didn't really care to re-encode the file to add it back in.

What you're done here... is absolutely astounding. Whereas MegaMan 3's music received more minor adjustments (It was originally quite decent), and MegaMan 1 needed a broader restructuring (some of the originals were hard on the ears), you've given MegaMan 2 something it needed immensely: emotion. Whereas the original soundtrack was mostly a dance mix, now it's brooding and ambient, feeling more like a dark sequel. 'Dr. Wily's REVENGE', you know? It's so much more emotionally resonant now. You can really FEEL MegaMan rise to the challenge.
So, basically, Megaman II on the Game Boy?
There is a Dr Wilys revenge. Its mega man 1 on the game boy
you are too much right, have a like
3:54 Message from Dr. Light:
*NO NEED TO GO HAM ON THE GET WEAPON SCREEN!*
*IT’S JUST ITEM-3!!!*
You Got Ham with Item-3.
I love how the wily stage themes progressively sound less and less confident and determined and start to sound more fearful and unsure with each passing one
and using the 10 second loop that was wily stage 2 to morph it into a boss rush theme was just pure genius
I think wily 2 was just to match the fans on the floor but ok
Music this good for free?!
When I get more money, I'll be sure to give you a hefty sum.
After bubble man's defeat, I love how Megaman was just kinda standing there for about a year like "shit that was close.." XD
Wow. I've heard lots of rock covers of MM2, but I always thought that chip tune covers / reimaginations would be totally blasphemous. How wrong I was. You're a very gifted composer, and to call these new arrangements "covers" doesn't give them the credit they deserve. The originals are timeless masterpieces, but you've absolutely done them justice and breathed new life into them. Absolutely blown away, thank you for sharing this with everyone!
21:27 Nice.
>:] nice. lmao
>:]
yay it's ready! congratz on the release!
*****
Neither did i
LOL, I just found you like half a month ago, with your Symbian Fontal video. Your videos are exciting ^.^
danooct1 yay! Danooct1 is here!
Hey there
wow didn't expect to find you here lmao
Your take on Wily Stage 4 is quite impressive. Capcom should hire you if they ever revamp classic Mega Man.
+scholarch It would have been cool to make music for the Legacy Collection but I don't expect Capcom to ever really notice what I'm doing :(
+RushJet1 Unfortunately, I don't even think Capcom cares what they're doing with anything they release at this point. MMLC on Steam is incredibly buggy; they promised months ago they'd fix the bugs and we've heard nothing since.
+RushJet1 Well, Legacy Collection was literally just an emulation of the games in their original form just with a few extras like concept art, music tracks, and a challenge mode (at least from what I hear). Besides that, it's literally a collection of the first 6 games in their original form, sprite-flickering and all.
They did
@@RushJet1 :(
Ohh...my god...like.
I felt so many emotions in this. And all of the remixing had a cogent feel, like it was all part of one game. You diverged without getting too pretentious. You had fun without losing the vision of the original. You stuck to a particular moody, somewhat melancholic and dwelling pathos.
When Bubble Man hit, I really began to cry. In my 21 years of Mega Man fandom, I have never really reconnected with my very first MM experience (Bubble Man was the very first MM stage I ever played)...not until that song hit. It had all the modernity I expect from you and others of the last 5 years, while respecting the original childish excitement and wild-eyed charm. Bringing the original backbeat back for those two bars at the end...it really tugged at the heartstrings. I started to lose control and get immersed in the whole thing.
Heat Man was a complete and utter shock. You managed to transform the original, very tightly themed instrumentation into a very different mood, and it still utterly worked for the Heat motif. I never thought I would enjoy a Heat remix so much.
Quick Man was great, too--emphasizing that energy. It's the perfect music to shake maracas to! Too bad I don't have any--just had to make do with imaginary Samba de Amigo, hehe.
I'm glad you didn't change Wily 1 too much. By the time that hit in the track, I was all amped up and ready for familiar thrills, and you delivered. Then you made that moody too in Wily 2--and while it wasn't spectacular on its own, it made the transition to Wily 3 and beyond much smoother.
Wily 4 is exceeding, if not at least tied with, your MM3 climax for most ambitious re-interpretation. I was just sort of sitting there in awe as the Wily 2-3 cooldown led to a welling of emotion inside, and I started to get immersed in the retro feeling anew. Your music actually gave me a renewed respect for the Wily 4 stage itself, recognizing that its level of engaging but (for the new player) bewildering puzzle elements were pretty fresh and intense for their time.
And then Wily 5 and the ending--I was just cheering, pushing my way through for the victory anthem of my childhood. Like with Wily 1, you were wise not to deviate far from the path here because the occasion didn't call for it. A little breath of fresh air revitalized my eyes for the Blue Bomber.

All in all, you made the MM2 experience pretty magical. There were the awesome aspects I mentioned; though I feel like diminishing the percussion in Wood Man and disrupting the pace in Flash Man weren't my favorite decisions. But it all held to one musical vision, and that vision _is_ you. I hope you continue to take your carefully crafted talent to the bank. Maybe give Jake Kaufman a call or something, hehe.
MM4 is my absolute favorite NES game, even though I never considered the music particularly riveting... You think you can make me fall in love again?
Right there with you, man. How about that Air Man? Man, that was special.
Well said my friend. :)
You ok?
Megaman 6 was the first Capcom game I've ever played as a 10 year old and Blizzard Man was the first stage. Oh boy, as a kid it felt like Dark Souls to me
@@thundageon5962Difficulty wise, Mega Man really is the Dark Souls of platformers
Pretty awesome stuff, as expected. Though the Get Weapon theme is pretty questionable, I feel.
someone had a seizure on the drums
Drum Man has malfunctioned
It's awesome to see these covers put to their original context. I noticed no boss music during Wily Stage 3 (I assume this was deliberate, you ran through that stage quite fast) and the way you handled the music during Wily 5 did not disappoint.
Stratelier Yeah that was deliberate - it would cut off the end of the Wily 3 theme if I had put the boss theme in, and the boss theme would had lasted like 12 seconds, so it wasn't worth it. The timing worked out pretty well though.
21:34 >:] nice.
... did RushJet1 actually take something I said to-heart? Did he actually just do... a straight-up _enhancement project_ instead of radically remixing things? Did he _resist the urge_ to cram so much vibrato into each song that it phases into the center of your skull?? Holy fruits!
Now, don't get me wrong. I like remixes and I really like vibrato. One of my favorite musicians, Tim Follin, was a grandmaster of the C64/NES vibrato and I loved all of this soundtracks. Heck, even I use a bit of vibrato in my own 2A03 arrangements. But RushJet1... tends to go *way* overboard in every single project he does in 2A03 or VRC6-style. At least, he did in the past. With this project, though? Not so much. Sure, there's a _little_ vibrato here and there, but it's subtle, and it's well-utilized instead of being shoehorned into every single song in the soundtrack.
As for the arrangements? Sometimes it's good to go big and go grand. I've listened to plenty of _OC ReMixes_ that sound almost nothing like the original songs. Some of them sound great, some don't. I've also heard plenty of VRC6 or 2A03 arrangements and remixes of various tunes. Again, I also work on them myself. A lot of them are mediocre, but to my ears, RushJet1's previous efforts were... offensive. He tried to hard to push the boundaries and abused the sound channels in horrible ways. His arrangements were usually sped up or slowed down and completely ruined the original feeling of the songs. Which this project though, he kept it simple. Not "simple" as in "very basic"... but "simple" as in "he stuck pretty close to the base songs". And it worked magnificently! The arrangements aren't over-the-top and don't try to be bombastic, high-energy, epic scores that knock you out of your chair with each note. They're only as intense as they need to be and keep the atmosphere of the originals while adding to them.
I have to be honest... This is the best thing I have ever heard come from RushJet1. I was expecting it to be yet another vibrato-fest VRC6 "super-remix" album... but no! It's a straight-up arrangement soundtrack. And by-god, I actually like it-- no! I dare say... I *love* it! ... I really, really do.
You've completely turned me around, RushJet1. Big kudos to you on this one! I don't know if this soundtrack was done the way it was specifically because of the unfavorable things I've said in the past (which would be pretty cool, if you did), but either way, *very* nice soundtrack!
Aren't you the same Joseph Collins from the Sonic community?
Goodness....the world is so small
chaoshedgie
I think the only one I was a regular member of for any amount of time was _Sonic Retro_...? Oh, and some old fan comic sites...
Your name looks familiar, too, actually...
Thought I saw you on Sonic Cult A LOOOONG time ago
chaoshedgie That, too. Many, many, _many_ moons ago. *laughs*
Not sure if you still exist, but I'm curious what Rushjet1 releases/tracks in particular you thought overused vibrato.
FRENZY
4:10
40:27, the explosions often more or less match up with the rhythm of the music. So awesome!
I gueess Rushjet1 forgot the link to the bandcamp download, so please use this if you want to have it:

Thank you
Oh wow... Great work, as always, especially with the Wily stages! To think that you would turn probably my least favorite track in Mega Man 2 and make it so gosh darn catchy in a variety of ways, especially with the boss rush!
Of course RushJet made the remixes sound so amazing! Keep doing what you're doing, RushJet!!! You're brilliant!
I love what you did for Wily Castle Boss Theme with the intense percussion: it has become a theme of stronger bosses. And the last Wily Castle Stage is a masterpiece! Always love your work, RushJet!!!
I fricking love bubble man, and you made his theme more memorable. :D
But also... the feels man! It's so beautiful! I legit cried....
Too beautiful. Bubble man will live on!
YAY THANK YOU! I've been waiting for this one!
Also, I like how you keep Wily Stage 3's theme as the Guts-Dozer boss theme. Truly the most fitting tune for this intimidating machine.
So no boss music-
Wily 6 is my favorite, sends chills and is so unsettling I love it
NICE MUSIC AS ALWAYS! GOOD JOB RUSHJET1!
Looooove these covers, they sound totally awesome and remixed. I love listening to them, nicely done.
Wow. Another playthrough with great music.
Loving these.
41:11 This had me head banging.
Sounds so awesome it could've been the final boss' theme.
Fack you
I absolutely LOVE what you did for the Robot Master boss rush. It's the ultimate "shit just got REAL" version of that Wily's Fortress track, and it fits so well with the escalating level of tension as you delve deeper into Wily's lair.
Crazy to think this is almost a decade old, this still holds up really well, my personal favourite cover is the heat man one, it just sounds so damn good
"unless you want to drop me some money!"
*TAKE MY FUCKIN' MONEY!¡TAKE ALL OF THEM*
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
Remember back in the day when rushjet was known for his megaman covers instead of that pewdiepie game
AtomicMelodies yeah
Sandman why
I used to know him as the PewDiePie Legend of the Brofist guy and hadn't played any Mega Man games, but that changed a long while ago.
Mega Man 2 is not just one of my favorite 8-bit soundtracks, but one of my favorite video game soundtracks period, and once again you managed to make it even better! I especially love what you did with Wily Stage 3-5. It's quite impressive how you can make three different intense versions of such a simple tune and make all of them kick ass. I do consider the original version an underrated example of "simple but effective," but yeah, you really took it to the next level here!
Followed you here from your comment on a chiptune compilation, just to see what you had. Subscribed
More people should follow your example ;)
+RushJet1 sir, you are really amazing. Would love to hear a remix of MM9 flash in the dark.
just awesome. i wish we could have something like this for the legacy collection
Very nice variation of the Boss music for Alien Wily!
holy sheesh you made the second wily castle stage theme better
also the fourth & fifth wily castle stage theme-
nice job mate
Me: man, this Wily Stage 6 remix is fire-
Me 6 seconds later: u h -
listening to this brought tears in my eyes man! absolutly awesome dude!
i just bought the album, i wanted the cd but im from the UK and it would take too long!
This tastes like delicious childhood. I can't believe you managed to redo all 3 first games soundtracks in sutch quality.
You are so good at this game.
I wonder if it would be possible to put this music on Mega Man Maker.
Jmanplays me too, that would be so awesome!
This is the best thing I've ever heard ever. Thank you.
That Alien boss theme should be made canon and extended. It sounds awesome!
The music is so different! Love it! Especialy Metal Mans level
Everyone loves Metalman
But I like heatman 🔥
i'm not sure how i missed this, being subbed :S
Can't wait to hear it.
Everyone's like "Oh! I only know from Tuber Simulator!" Boi. I know RushJet1 from his amazing Mega Man remixes! I love em so much! By the way, do you have plans on covering 5?
true
V for gb
Amazing...just simply astonishing.
I’m not understanding all the dislikes here. Looking at the comments, it seems everyone loves this.
Someone MUST hack the Mega Man II rom to play these amazing tunes.
Sadly, it wont happen.
One of the most beautiful epilogue in video games
THIS is the place were legends are made
The remastered music sounds sick!
My god... It's so fucking amazing. THANK YOU BASED RUSHJET1!
This is great, even with the amount of liberties taken in each piece 😍
Any way to get a rom edit to play with this music?
After recently playing Tadpole Tap a bit too much I'm starting to hear Anxiety Attack in Wily Stage 5. Both OSTs were released in December 2014 too.
There is no way to apply the music in a rom and play on the emulator?
Or even download a rom with this audio applied?
Megaman 2 + VRC6 music! Very impressive effects.
I like that the new arrangement of Heat Man's stage music adds a bit more of an air of desperation to the overall feels of the stage especially with all the well timed block jumps. : ) Also, is this music something you can actually patch the original rom with to play on real hardware or is this just a very carefully edited video with the new tunes?
Video editing.
RassilonTDavros Ah, that's a shame. Was hopping perhaps there might be a way to do an actual patch to an existing rom and configure any new sound chips used as well.
@@SkyeWelse If it were to be down on real hardware it'd be Famicom exclusive due to the chip only working on the Famicom and not NES
If it's using VRC6 it would be awesome to see this on a real cart with a physical VRC6... although I imagine it would require heavy modification of the ROM to use the real chip since the game was never designed to use it.
I watched your Mega Man 2 Playthough. that music was awesome too!
woah I really like this
Please tell me that there is a patch to play this version.
wow, wily stage 5 sounds the best one of the album
Watching this on 60fps feels like art
How did you mute the game without muting the SFX? Is there a feature for that on an emulator?
+Rom & Bootleg diver having the same question here.
awesome! I really recognize your style from 1001 spikes! But where do i download it? there's no link in the description
Go to his Bandcamp page, you'll find it from there
Awesome remix of MegaMan
Nice slow-paced remix in Wily 2! I liked the Wily's 5 remix very much... THE ENTIRE ALBUM IS A MASTERPIECE
It's good but how do you put it into a mega man 2 rom so I can play with it???
Love that bass
I listened to the whole thing (window minimized), and it felt _goooooooood_.
This is awesome!! Quite perfect, actually.
Maybe next could you do:
MM6, MM9, MM4, MM10, MM5, MM7 (There's an 8-bit version), The Mega Man Xtreme games on the GBC, MM&B (8-bit fangame, I think), MM8 (Also fanmade 8-bit version), MMV (Rockman World 5; Gameboy Color), Mega Man Time Tangent (not a playthrough, obviously, but remixes, kind of like how you did MMII GB).
They are in order by how much I want you to do them.
MM6 the most; MMTT not all that much.
I wonder what brightman would sound like...
Judging by Rushjet1's Style, probably either swing or EDM.
Man, that Wily 4 and Boss Gauntlet music. Wow.
I love it. it sounds like a turbografx 16 soundtrack
Is this on iTunes btw I have your PewDiePie soundtrack and it’s awesome
Honestly, I love Metal Man. His level ad boss fight aren't just simple boxed-in rooms/mazes with enemies, but the conveyers and some of the exclusive things you see, I really think Metal Man is awesome. (also, His conveyer belt is his boss is hysterical, and I also think he's a more capable ninja then SHADOWMAN - which takes a lot of BOSS-ness to achieve.
So when I buy the digital album, I get the files that i can open with famitracker?
Nah I'll just link that. All of the Mega Man Remades are on the FamiTracker forums forums.famitracker.com/download/file.php?id=97&sid=e6ef8ce80b993b3fee01a9a15d9fc8b5
Wily castle stage 4 music looks so freakin GOod!
Love the authentic music slowdown on Wily 1 dragon boss.
Mother of god, This is nice. I was loking forward for MM2. I am not dissapointed.
I'm kinda curious, what exactly is the effect used in Wily Stage 3 and Wily Stage 6? It sounds like a saw, but I dunno what it's doing.
Same thing is also basically used in Heat Man's stage- basically taking the 2 VRC6 squares and detuning them while playing low bass notes. Makes a pretty cool phasing sound.
***** Thanks!
You did a great job with this, and it has inspired me to create something similar with a different franchise. But why the absolute heck does this have so many dislikes? i can't understand
branflakes because after a very specific point in time, it started getting a very regular amount of dislikes. This has happened on a few of my videos, and I think someone is just botting them or something. All the videos of started getting dislikes on a regular basis at around the same time a couple years ago.
oh that's unfortunate. it doesn't make your work any less awesome though.
Is Quick Man done in FT2 with VRC6? It sounds fucking amazing. I mean all of these sound amazing, but DAMN.
These are AMAZING!
Loved this! Strange question: have you ever considered reworking not just the OSTs but also the SFX on a game?
hey guys, I play in a videogame cover band. We really love what you have done with the soundtrack. We're about to play a show where we will fully cover megaman 2. We want to put the game on a big screen and I want to know how did you edit the music out of the game while keeping the sound effects. Is there any way that you could send the video over so we could use it live? thanks!
4:42 is the best part
Epic intro
How did I get this in 2018 was going online
Airman, Metalman, Woodman, and Crashman which is pronounced (Clashman) should have a mix versions of GB and NES and of course Quickman but Quickman has a mix versions of Game Gear and NES that they should have in this video
Don't miss the silence between notes in melodies. They are as crucial as notes themselves
Epic music is epic. :D So happy to see this in my feed.
please can someone help me on how to inject nsf into a rom?(for an emulator)
That wont work, idiot.
21:34 nice
holy SHIT how did i never find this until now
Very good video
This game should have mix versions of NES, GB, and Game Gear
Nostalgia
...that Dragon stood no chance.
Certain songs in this remix were so upbeat and exciting in the original, didn’t know a simple remix could make them sound so depressing. This is still good though! I hope he continues to make these
You want depressing? Listen to spark man's doc robot stage in MM3 😆
RushJet1 oh wow, that one actually is kinda sad, I guess lots of things change when a Mega Man rip-off harasses a couple of planets
Is this a rom or just edited sound?
Flash Man is *GODLY* in this.
