As always, it's pay what you want.
This has several changes from the original game other than the music - there are no password screens between levels, the health bars all fill up way faster, a couple new music cues, and a few other video editing things that I wish had been features in the original game. This is recorded directly from my NES with an XRGB and an Elgato HD doing the video processing.

The addition of the title screen theme from MegaMan 4 GBA made me so nostalgically happy I wanted to cry
Hm. I have mixed feelings about these remixes, though I'm normally a big fan of what you do. I'm sure it's partially nostalgia getting the better of me, but some of these tunes don't feel as transformed as I would expect from a cover or remix (the first part of the intro cutscene, for instance), and a few of them have too much going on (Ring Man is a bit overwhelming for my brain to process). Drill Man, Dive Man, Pharaoh Man, and Wily 1 are really good, though, and some of the others are a sort of lateral shift that I like about as much as the originals.
Oh, and I approve of using Wire Adaptor as an offensive weapon.

Cossack 3 is probably my favorite MM tune of all time, and your interpretation is astounding.
Your cover for Cossack stage 1 was simply outstanding!
This is so good, I can't go back to the originals. Granted without them, we wouldn't have any songs to begin with, but there's always room for improvement. Keep making these!

Question by the way: when you play these, do you have some way of isolating JUST the sound effects without the original BGM playing, or do you re-insert all the sound effects in post for the video?
+Christopher Niosi I have a way of isolating just the sound effects. I don't have to re-insert all the sound effects.
Is there a way to do this for SNES games as well, by any chance?
+RushJet1 What might that be? Just curious, and does it work for all NES games or just certain ones?
+SonicDestroyer12 It's a game genie code, or it originally was, and it's different for each game. I found the place in the ROM that the game genie code is modifying and edited it in a hex editor, then put it on my PowerPak.
+RushJet1 Ah, cool. Would it be possible to get the code? I found a GG code to remove music from the game, but it sadly removes all the other sounds as well.

@@NintendoComplete Didn't even notice this comment until now. Yeah one of my favorite tracks in the series is Cossack 2 too, which is why I put a lot into it. Also gotta say, your playthrough videos are great - always nice to see them in 1080p60 vs World of Longplays which seems to always be much lower quality.

Well, I have to congratulate you for a few things: First, for making this awesome VRC6 cover of the Mega Man 1-4 soundtracks, for perfectly implementing them in a walkthrough and for attracting the attention of someone like Chris Niosi and having him comment on your video. That alone would be an achievement in my book :P

YES! Ever since your tease with the Pharaoh Man cover, I waited for this and after 2 years it finally did come out! Once again, I can see myself getting used to your magnificent covers of the game and forget the original music even exists. I was most impressed by Cossack Stage 1, Cossack Boss, Wily Stage 1 (the beginning sounds like you used the VRC7 chip) and Pharaoh Man (still sounds great). I like how you put Ballade's theme as the last stage just like Enker in MM1. I also feel that putting Dive Man and swing together works much better than it did with Magnet Man. Great job as always!

If I were to choose the next Cover Playthrough...
I'd choose Megaman 10. I love its soundtrack and I do not understand why people forget about it or even dislike it, but either way, I know you'd make it amazing for everyone and I feel it really deserves it.
Hell yeah, would be great to hear that, especially Sheep Man, Chill Man, all of Wily 1, Wily 4...
To be honest though, I'd probably like 9 first

I had no idea Mega Man 4 Remade was on its way until a few weeks ago. Pharaoh Man and Bright Man's music (among others) had me pumped enough to download MM4 Remade *on sight*. I'm looking forward to a complete listen.

Hey RushJet, do you plan to do a Megaman 5 VRC6 album? If so, any idea on when to look for it? You are by far my favorite chiptune cover artist with your ability to greatly expand on already great classic tunes. Although I've never thought so, Megaman 4 is often considered mediocre, so it's wonderful you gave it this special attention so people might take another look and think "huh, maybe 4 isn't as bad as people think".

Kind of sad you didn't make the staffroll theme a Megaman 2 remix like it was in the original, but I like it. It's pretty nice and REALLY FUCKIN' AWESOME.
Great remixes (though the swing beat on the Dive Man stage hurts my heart a little) Cossack Stage 3-4 and Wily Stages especially are masterfully done!
