The extra boss in this game. This guy doesn't have a life bar, or boss music. But he ends up getting to be the main badguy in his own game that was only in Japan.
My favorite part was when Quint said "it's Quint'n time!" And Quinted all over MegaMan. (That's actually a line in the rear box artwork I'm not kidding)
Quint's a bit weird. Dr. Wily had Mega Man in his hands and made him use a pogo stick/jack hammer. It's almost like he was trying to humiliate Mega Man more than defeat him. Also, Quint ran off and never appears again (except for V but that was likely a copy). Did he go back to the future or is lying around dead somewhere in the present?
It's actually quite sad because in the Game Quint (now called Rockman shadow) dies at the hands of Megaman or Bass meaning that our Megaman will eventually suffer the same fate.
Quint must be the reason why Mega Man X was built. After the future Mega Man turned into Quint by Wily of the past (present in MMII's storyline), Mega Man of the past(the present for MMII) defeated Quint twice (first in MMII and then in MMV) which meant future Mega Man was gone. So before death, Dr. Light built Mega Man X to be in stasis for 30 years but X wasn't released until 100 years later and the year was 2014 as Dr. Cain's log states Mega Man X was released in 2114.. Also the date was September 28, 20XX from Dr. Light's message so when piecing it all together: Mega Man X was put in stasis on September 28, 2014 and would be released in 2044 (which became 2114). According to the American & European manual for MMII, Wily traveled 37.426 years into the future to reprogram future old Mega Man. So MMV can take place between 2004-2014(if MM: Dr. Wily's Revenge, II, III and IV take place in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 respectively) which meant the reprogramming of future old Mega Man can take place between 2041-2051. 2014 was chosen as the last year as that is the proposed year of Mega Man X's creation and placement in stasis until 2114 and Dr. Light wouldn't be too far away from his death. Remember that I said 2001 was MMII's proposed year of its time should each MM game happen each year(excluding MMV) so future old Mega Man(as Quint) traveled 40-50 years back to MMII's time(2001) and then escaped and traveled to MMV's time between 2004-2014(which would be 3-13 years after MMII).
Kuchiri.... the guy in the Japanese game wasn't quint. It was a different, but identical, future version of megaman called megaman shadow. Although quint does make a cameo.
Is this guy a Prototype of X or something? He's a future redesigned Mega Man, so.....Where does he fit in the timeline? Or is he a lost maverick that Wily tested the virus on before MM 10?
Megaman and X are not the same. Quint is a future version of the original Megaman. To not confuse you any longer let's put it this way. Quint is the futuristic version of the original blue bomber, Megaman. So he's just megaman with steroids and new technology. X, had SOME of the original Megaman's power but he was designed to have LIMITLESS potential, hence limitless power. He's waaaay more durable, faster and like Dr.Cain said "X is something waaaay beyond anything from this era "year 21XX" and by the time Cain discovered X, X was already 100 years old so imagine how advance X was? So in short X > Quint in every single aspect.
My theory is that this version of Mega Man, aka Quint, is a version that became super famous from his many victories and then allowed himself to become aloof, his skills degrading while his fashion sense and style degrading to what looks like a Male Bimbo, this future never came to be however, because when Mega Man saw his future self, he went "Aww HELL no!" and did everything possible to not become like Quint ever... It is extremely hard to imagine even present timeline Mega Man ever turning into such a weird douche in the first place though, I somehow doubt Quint even was Mega Man from this reality at all
Dr.Wily: "MUHAHAHA! Mega Man! You shall now kill Mega Man! And if you do not I will kill you, ending Mega Man!" Quint: "Uh... Okay I will do my best..." *Spends all day lazily jumping around on pogo stick* Dr.Wily: "MEGA MAN! Why did you not do your best at killing MEGA MAN! You... YOU! MEGA MAN!" Quint: "Ok I am going home now" *Mega MAN died on the way to his home planet, MEGA MAN-IA*
That's a sorry excuse for a Megaman from the future.
I guess he didn't want to create a time paradox.

I was thinking the same thing
Probably dead. Mega could choose his own future.
He came back in Megaman and Bass 2: challenger from the future

@@Knight_Man1 That was Rockman Shadow, he's not Quint but was the scrapped design for Quint.
1:04 Look at Megaman’s face.
WhAt? He'S fInE!
He's drunk
He's drugged XD
I want what he’s on
*Hey Rush i got a shitty pogostick!*
Personal wondering... What if Quint were holding back ? He is in fact the future Mega Man, after all...
Makes sense because if he kills himself from the past he wouldnt exist.
Only if light rebuild him
Probably since he's totally just doing squats on a pogo stick
Well, since in megaman 8bit deathmatch he doesn't face megaman, he goes absolutely sicko mode
"This is... Mega Man??"
This guy used to be cool, but then he took a Dr. Wily redesign to the everything. Well, at least he isn't dead!
He dies in MMV
Considering there were copies before his boss chamber, I think that was just a copy
Maybe Dr. Wily made him look stupid on purpose as a way of getting back at him.
@@PokeDude011 This seems extremely plausible.

Nice but Too much information but still cool
+FryMario55 So they built X two years ago
Mega Man looked drunk in his sprite while scrolling in at the end.

So what happens if you die to him? Game Over because of Time Paradox?
That theme tho it has something special in my heart.......somehow
If Mega Man II were to be remade, I'd want to see Quint use the Charge Buster. And also definitively die.
By beating him, YOU get the Charge Buster
why does mega man get quint's power even tho quint escaped and wasn't destroyed
The game machine, Game Boy?
Quint may be stuiped, but you have to admit. Pogostick=unque weapon.
