Hm. Not reaaaaally seeing what all the fuss is about with this version...the desperation of Jessica Lange's Maggie is so much more visceral, and Tommy Lee Jones as Brick, he's so perfectly detached...Just not feeling this one at all. But opinions are just opinions.
Natalie Wood overacts badly, there seems to be little going on inside her, it's all external histrionic gestures. Rober Wagner does much of the role as if he had a pebble stuck in his shoes and can't remove it. One note shallow, whinny ...just bad, bad, bad!

The dialog is a lot more explicit and honest than the Taylor/Newman version. It feels truer to life. Very good.
