Maureen Stapleton is really good as Big Mama. Everyone here looks too old to play their roles. The actor that plays Goober is fugly and his jacket makes me want to beat him up for having such bad taste in clothes! This is a great soap!
Totally agree ! Maureen was a truly gifted actress ! She's the most talented one in the cast. Laurence Olivier gave many xlnt film performances over the years, he's woefully miscast here, just as Natalie Wood & Robert Wagner are.
It IS a bit incredible thart the ultimate British Shakespearean actor Laurence Olivier is playing this old "down south" gentleman in this play. Burl Ives did a more credible job in the role in the earlier movie.
Burl Ives was sheer perfection in the role of Big Daddy. Olivier tries hard but is badly miscast here. The role demands a large man with an earthy nature !
On every part of this video there are pessimistic comments about the acting, but never so much as a mention of what a great play this is.
Natalie Wood is so beautiful, she is one of the only ones to be able to do this after Elizabeth Taylor
having my paper 5 igcse on this play.. wish me luck. thanks for uploading :)
adysti kardi How did it go?
Half the leads aren’t up to the job. Natalie Wood and Rbt. Wagner are floundering and not just their accents.

It's all a bit hysterical.
I'm no expert on acting... RW might have been 'too old' but he did pull it off and I'm sure LO did encourage him. Not to feel daunted etc.
Haha ... mix between Days of Our Lives and Dallas! ... Give this is miss!!
naja,golum what a rolum

Steve Burrus Why? His British one time wife played the ultimate Southern belle.
Wekll I frankly think that Vivia n Leigh did better acting in "A Streetcar Named Desire" than she did as "Scarlett O'Hara".
Steve Burrus Thats an interesting take
