    I went with the BMW and very happy with my choice. I think its more comfortable to ride, better to look at. I purchased the 22 fully loaded all optioned XR.

    I recently rode both bikes and ended up purchasing the Tiger 900 GT. I commute 100 miles every day, and the tiger 900 GT suspension feels like a Cadillac when set up properly.

      Sweet. But what about mentioned vibrations in 4K+ rpm range? I currently ride mt07 - and the only reason I want to change this cheap-o bike is the vibrations...

  • @joshnnik
    @joshnnik 3 года назад +10

    I tested both of these bikes but when it came to buying I bought the XR. The tingling vibration of the Tiger was too much for my old body (70yrs) and made my shoulders and arms hurt. It also felt top heavy in comparison to the BMW. I’ve no regrets for my decision and feel that the XR is a better road bike than the 2016 Honda Africa Twin that I had previously owned. Good review.

      It's heartening to know when at 70 you are still riding. I can only hope I a) live that long and B) have the energy to ride these big bikes. Though everything will be electric by then I suppose

      You are an inspiration still going strong as a rider at 70. I am in the same dilemma, have booked a Tiger 850 sport but the waiting period is upwards of 6 months here in India which is a bummer. I liked the XR too but I have heard the heat dissipation is not great and ends up cooking your thigh/legs in a hotter climate. Any thoughts?

    I've a Triumph Street Triple, fabulous bike and Triumph are my favorite top quality brand, I had to put a Puig screen on the front mind. I was looking at a new Street Triple but I want something with better wind protection for touring and short weekend adventures, Triumph seem hooked on naked bikes at the moment, why their marketing people have decided against making a faired street triple similar to the F900XR or Ducati Supersport is beyond me. So for me after much consideration it's either a F900XR or Tiger900G, they both have low seat options too and I like getting both feet down. I must say at the moment I am leaning towards the BMW, it looks good and every review raves about it, the only downer is the wind shield is a bit small, but there are loads of after-market screens if its a problem.

    If I had to buy a 900cc bike I would probably get the Tracer over both. I have not tested the Tiger and I do like the Triumph brand. I see no point on getting a bike just because it is lighter than bikes I would prefer to own or keep. These bikes weigh about 480lbs or so, whereas my R1250RS weighs about 50 lbs more. This Beemer is very well balanced. I have also started looking at the Moto Guzzi V100 that weighs about 515lbs.

    The review felt too much biased toward Tiger. You guys missed a pot of features of the Xr. It has got electronic suspension in which you can not only adjust the preload but also you can adjust the way suspension acts. You have got 2 suspension mode. This bike has 2 ride modes but you can add 2 more sportier riding mode. You missed to tell us the ground clearance of both the bike. If you look at more features then the Xr has also got a steering damper. So looking at the comparison chart at the last of your video i think that the tiger 900 was overrated at a lot of places.

Service & maintenance is less expensive. And many off friends have to wait almost 4 - 6 weeks for spares. But replacing parts is expensive though you can get 3rd party parts like ebc brake pads, DID chainset + sprockets etc to reduce the service costs.
