Have been bmw gs rider for 35 years, just test ridden both bikes yesterday, have to say triumph is light years ahead of gs, much better engine and looks
@@brucekendall52 the new 21 GS will come with the Pro upgrade ..... and I think you can compere the 2 bikes, after all, they both the same capacity and category, Mid size ADV Bikes aiming to the same niche of the market, the ADV Riders
I have seen now a couple of videos by both of you guys now and I must say really to the point, concise and covers the important aspects from a prospective buyer instead of rattling off the spec sheet.. Thanks and keep up the format ! .. myself am more inclined maybe towards the gs but will take the test drive when BS6 version (and 40th Anniv) is launched next year .. hopefully they price it cheaper like they did for 310gs
Thanks.. We just rode the Africa twin yesterday.. It's much more friendlier than the old one... Much easier to ride also and really has a good amount of tech... It's a brilliant machine.. Just make sure you test ride the new Tiger 900 it's also really really good... Once you have tested both then make your decision... Good luck ✌
I have ridden the Africa Twin all over Europe... Tiger is brilliant but I think all Honda bikes are remarkably more reliable... BUT I agree with these guys...the GS is the best for long distance touring
@@roadtrip2011 thank u brother for ur great suggestion, but GS is way expensive to my budget and it's really pain in ass to maintain German machine in Asian countris.... Only break pads cost 3 time to Africatwin complete service
So between BMW 850 GS BS6 and Tiger 900 GT - which one should be picked for 5'8" guy from confort and smooth ride on road as first priority, ability to move out of tricky unintentional situations easily. Some tech and fun goodies, leaning slightly towards peppy ride.
It is mandatory accessory required in all bikes sold in India...even Ducati pannigale should have it. If provided pillion ride .only after owner will remove after PDI....
The only issue is twin v triple. A triple makes its power from revs. A twin should have more lower down grunt. A single even more down low grunt but less power from revs. Off-road a buzzy triple can be a pain, especially as the revs drop and you get caught out. Using the gearbox more can help of course. Most off-road bikes are singles, adv are twins, a triple has been adapted from road...Triumph’s great saviour was the road triple. I’ll stick with twins - nature has natural order 😁
In theory, that’s correct, but that was the case with the old Tiger 800. With this new 1-3-2 firing order, the Tiger 900's motor behaves more like a big-twin than a peaky triple. Lot more grunt at low rpms.
@@autoX Thanks Autox. I could never work out why they really did that. The 132 order makes it fire in a non equal spacing pattern, unlike a simple 120 deg order. The 800 has exactly the same max power and torque as the 900 so maybe it was emissions management? Looking at the power curve it’s very similar to 800, a smidge higher but not much 😁 Triumph makes max power at 8750 v 8250 for BMW. Nothing in it really but 888cc/3 has to be less effective than 853cc/2! 😏
... ADV it the Keyword here, meaning: Long days in the saddle, diversity, versatility, riding in all (or most) kind of weather, and terrain, those 2 bikes should be loaded with all your gear (Packed Panniers, top case, Etc) and tactical suite, (in my case, about 100Lb of extra load), and now, go out for at list few days and come back with a relevant compression, cuz anything else is meaning less for a serious and real ADV Rider ...... almost 10 years with GSA and looking to downgrade cuz of the age factor start to Kick-In ..... my trips can last from just few days, up to 3 Months ..anyway, nice presentation, and tnx for taking the time to share
sure don't want the extra weight; 200 kg like the 500x is fine; 225 kg like the 750gs is to heavy in city traffic. Ok for big roads but then need another for heavy traffic in city. Tiger 900 GT pro serves all purposes.
I need those bikes for $12k USD 👍(edited) .. $13k maybe 😂 How about those bikes optional with only ABS at $12k? Stripped down version we can get 30 pounds lighter maybe and add what we want to the base like a Ténéré

You can't compare the GS850 Adv with the Triumph. That is Apples and pears.Compare std GS with Triumph.

So, you compared and both chose the bike you think is worse. Makes sense:)
Amazing video guys. Now with the new 850 GSA launched- with quite attractive pricing- what will be your take on the GSA vs Tiger 900?

was waiting for the review between this two bikes thank you @autox
Great review guys. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Glad it was helpful!
"Beginner" "Intermediate" really you want to go there?
U nailed it guys👍🏻
Plz try to make a review on Africa twin 1100, i'm planning to buy that bike..

Wow wow wow 😍 amazing Video.. I love the conversational reviews...
Thanks guys great informative review
I have ridden my 900 RP 6000 miles 50/50 riding in Colorado. No issues and best bike ever. I apologize that it's not a BMW...
Sigh.
Lol ‘the rear comes out even if you don’t want it to, it’s great handling’
May you tell me that which bikes are hardcore offroaders?
Great review, love both bikes 👌🏽
Curious how they compare in longevity
very good review... let me which one holds the top speed effortlessly.

Why do you have barbecue grills attached to the left-hand side of the bikes?
The law requires it in India. It's for lady pillions. Search what a saree is, you can see why it's needed.
It is mandatory accessory required in all bikes sold in India...even Ducati pannigale should have it. If provided pillion ride .only after owner will remove after PDI....
Great video, what is the tiger 900 top speed, who would win in a drag race between the f850 and the tiger 900 ?
We haven't done a drag race with these two bikes!

How is the long term reliability for the BMW? I have had issues with the BMW F900XR.

What is that "grill" mounted on the left side of the Tiger?
That's a saree guard for pillion (ladies), which is mandatory for motorcycles in India.

I heard it's one noth better in 900

What seat is that on the BMW ?
Any plans for the Africa Twin Adventure Sports MT review?

I actually find the BMW engine produces a lot of rattling from the top end, certainly doesn't seem refined.
Hi 900 Royal Pro Same KTM 790 R
Thank you I will take non of these bike I will straight go and buy ktm 890 Adventure R if I ever get the money to buy one.
Sorry but hard to understand the English..
