Dear Marloes, thank you for sharing your feelings of dissatisfaction with your new kitchen floor, your disappointment with not having produced the videos you want to, but listen to the words of the lovely poem you shared and remember you have to right to be silent and calm. I love all of the videos you put out whether they are showing us your every day life or more “produced” videos. All are beautiful! ❤😊
Please don't second guess yourself ❤ the floor is a warm apricot and beautiful. Once everything else is in you'll find it all works.
Merci
That’s a great way of reframing it, and also quite true
I echo this 😊 My hope is that you will find that in the end it all worked out far better than first expected.
Life sometimes sends you lovely terracotta tiles. Sometimes hail. Then the rainbow comes 🌈 & the sun, & all those beautiful flowers in your garden. It’s all so fleeting in the overall tapestry of life. As the beautiful poem says; ‘You have the right to remain silent’. You could not find a more beautiful place to be silent & release all the stress of life, then in your own countryside. Thank you 🙏🏻 much love ❤️
Thank you ❤️
Your husband is correct in that you will make the flooring work and it will be beautiful! Trust in yourself! Thanks for sharing the beautiful landscape and poem ! Blessings ❤️
I agree! The floor is a beautiful, warm apricot. It is a soft comforting hue, earthy and serene. It gives the same calming feeling as the landscape that surrounds your lovely cottage. Magnifique!!
Merci!
You know how Japanese ceramic artists talk about the gift of the kiln? That is, after you think and work hard....you put the pot into the kiln where anything can happen. The unplanned marks and colors...are gifts. The Holy Biome makes its own contribution. That is why your work is perfect.
I love that! Yes it’s exactly that: a gift. I know nothing is a coincidence and there is a reason WE got THIS specific floor. As the floor is growing on me I notice it is already bringing me so many ideas and inspiration. It’s a crazy feeling, did not see that coming! This is one special floor that is for sure!
Dear Marloes, this might be one of my most favorite videos since I starting following you over a year ago... I call it BEAUTY... With the beauty of nature you 'beamed' me right back to my magical and very similar childhood surroundings... The beauty of the poem and the chosen music for the video are exuding hope and peace in this crazy world... And the beauty of your raw honesty and authenticity about your feelings and doubts always remind me why I eagerly await your BEAUTYful messages each Friday. Thank you so much 💕
Thank you for these kind words! Thanks for being here ❤️
My pleasure!
Marloes, the floor is beautiful as is..time will soften its colour and texture. You will weave your magic and it will be the warm cosy space you always create. Life is demanding at times, so please don't feel your videos have been affected..it certainly hasn't felt that way. Allow yourself grace...❤
Merci ❤️
The poem is lovely. Your tomettes are like people. They will age and change with time and become richer for it. I have worked with many types of clay. Made many tiles, sculptures and pottery. Terra cotta once installed can be tinted before you seal it. Your home holds a lot of hope for better times and will endure storms and good memories.
Thank you
The times I have worked on a larger project, those big parts of it (flooring, countertops, exterior house color) are stress-inducing. But I have found that even when things didn't turn out 100% as I anticipated, I've been able to make them work and still create a beautiful space. You sound like the kind of person who does the same. Sometimes what we have set in our minds as the one right way keeps us from seeing the beauty of other options. I have no doubt, your talents will make that space beautiful, warm, and welcoming. I loved the poem (and I am not typically a poetry person!). It does speak to my post-covid, world-weary heart. Thank you for that and for all your very gentle videos. They are all appreciated.
Thank you for being here ❤️
I have tried in my mind to keep this brief but your video, your message evoked so many emotions in me. I think all of us who come here do so because we get you, we feel similar in many ways though we are all different. But you get the sense that you know us that you know we too think about the state of the world , that keeps many of us up nights. I’ve had a lot of loss over the past few years, it had its toll on me physically. I didn’t like the feeling of always being in the state of grief, I found that my garden, the natural beauty that surrounds me , remaining silent and yes calm when there is a world of so much outside noise. I’m approaching my 70 th year of life there’s so much I haven’t done that I want to do. So I worry about that. But I choose joy now. You have shared so much beauty with so many . A teacher once told me “ the world needs beauty “. I live by those words every day. Thank you for this poem it is the balm I needed. I love poetry. Olaf is right , you will figure out the floor. When you enter the space the floor won’t be the only thing that the eye is drawn to, they’ll be all your wonderful finds from the brocante the warm wood. ,art, books, flowers. It will be ok.Thank you.🕊️
I’m speaking for myself and I’ve learned as I grow older that I appreciate nature a great deal… By watching my flowers grow and listening to the birds sing while I sip on my coffee.. I have peace within and blessed for my life .. love looking at your beautiful landscape of flowers and listening to the amazing poem… God bless ❤
A color becomes a color once it’s paired with another. A vision is more about what you want something to feel like - isn’t it? Stay with the feeling … and your vision will materialize anew. ❤
Thanks!
About your kitchen floors; you still have options. You can shop a bit more, see if the local shop has a range of lighter tile colors. You can also change the pattern to give you a softer look, for instance you can mix a variety of lighter tiles and use them in a random pattern. The orange can be overwhelming but perhaps use that just around the edges and a lighter combination in a random pattern in the center or throughout! You can always save the orange ones for another cabin or space. Give yourself some flexibility about the look and trust your instincts. If using a lot of orange isn’t right, try other option and be open about another solution. You will find a compromise that works, it’s something you have a true talent for!!!!! Cheers! ❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
Cannot comment much on the floor tiles other than, as an architects, I would say, try to live with them.
Now, I must say that your photography is absolutely impeccable.
You know how to frame each shot, and don't move or pan the camera needlessly. You let it sit there, and capture the absolutely magnificent views and scenery.
You should take some stills, have them printed, and framed.
They would be stunning!
Obviously, you were born with such a gift; one cannot teach that.
Keep up the great work, Marloes.
Thanks for your support 🙏
Your videos are always a blessing, no matter what it's about. It's your journey you are graciously sharing w/us & it's not always chocolate croissants & shopping for bowls. 😆 I love your cooking videos. You put so much effort in your videos, it comes thru. Like most of us, ladies... you obviously have a very particular style. This renovation is a creation unique to your space in time. Working with natural materials you are going to have variety. Embrace it. You can't go backwards. There are lots of treatments that can be done to terracotta. Don't let the orange steal your joy. Lean into it. Not saying you are doing this... but, anytime we tunnel vision on a negative, it magnifies. You are creative, there is an option out there that will be beautiful. ❤
I for one love to watch you cook and do laundry :) Your videos are always well done no matter what you do
I thought those tiles are absolutely gorgeous... but, as it's your house, one respects your feelings. As they age they will mature. My advice: live with them first before making any huge (and costly?) decision! Loved the poem; very appropriate in our sound-bite world!
Thank you for your videos, and especially the poem in this one. They are much appreciated because they act as a balance to the world the media would have us think is the only one. It's good for me to see someone "chop wood and carry water", as the Buddhists say - just being in the moment. It reminds me there is some 'normal' out there, and helps me feel connected to everyone, to remember we are all one. Also, please try not to worry about the kitchen floor - I think in the end you'll like tradition tiles more than a white floor, and not just because of cleaning. A very wise contractor once told me that when people ordered a light colored floor he would try to talk them out of it, because so many people had done the same and then called him to replace it with a somewhat darker one. I have a theory about that. As humans we have evolved on an earth that is a darker color than the sky. We walk on brown dirt, green grass or gray stone. Even the ocean is a darker blue than the sky. We feel more comfortable when what's below our feet is darker than what's above. Once they've aged and are not so orangey, I think you're going to be very happy with the terra cotta tiles. Have a lovely week!
Love the birds and the flowers and the lush green fields ❤Don't stress too much about the floor. That is going to look warm and homely ... a bit of italian colour in your French style house. You can bring some variants of orange in through some beautiful hand painted tiles somewhere as a decoration, or a lamp in the kitchen with some "orange" in, some cushions on a old chair or couch, a loose carpet? You will make it work. You are sooo good ❤
Our world is indeed at war but what most don’t know is we are kicking evil out with Gods and our universal bothers help. The war will explode this summer/fall ( the worst is to happen) but these times will be followed with a great truth most humans don’t know about and a lasting peace that all humanity craves and deserves. Hang tight to your family, community and inner peace all will be well despite what is to come. Thank you for your wisdom to share this poem with us. I love your new floors and your husband is right that in the end you will make it beautiful. Much love from a devoted follower, an ancient one in Oregon, USA.💕
All your videos are great. Daily life is wonderful to watch and you’ll make your space work. Stick with your instincts..
Thanks!
All of your videos contain beauty that you share from your life. Thank you for the beautiful poem. May nothing rob you of your peace and joy...not even orange tiles. :-) XoX
Dear, Marloes….I’m sorry your floor isn’t exactly as you had hoped it would turn out. Just from what I could see of it as Olaf was grouting it…..it is still absolutely stunning. It maybe a peachier tone than what you wanted…….but you will find a way to make it work with everything. You are one talented lady! I can’t wait to see it finished. ♥️👍🏻♥️👏🏼
Thanks!
Love it. The Charolais cattle in the fields. My husband went to France to import Charolais to our farm in South Africa. You a lovely girl Marlus. ❤
Dear Marloes, appreciate your beautiful videos and serene surroundings of nature and animals. I feel you connect and draw strength when needed especially when feeling anxious , worry or perhaps overwhelmed 💕. Thank you for showing us a your home and the love you put into creating a harmonious space for family, friends, guests. A place for cooking, laughter, nurture and a home brimming with softness, colour, furnishings, and creativity to name just a few. 🤗. So know as your partner said whatever you create will be beautiful 🌹. For when we shine our light 🌟 from within anything is possible and can reflect and change our world as a place we can live in peace 🕊️🌈 🙏 loved the poem too.
Thank you ❤️
thanks for sharing your thoughts and this poem. Yes, we do have the right to stay calm, and this is what I need the most.
We live in Tucson, Arizona USA and have traditional Mexican Saltillo tile in or home, very similar to your chosen tiles. The tile will cure and darken over time.
In one of our houses we darken the Saltillo tile by applying wood stain with a brush and then wiping it off to dry. This process worked very well to temper the orange color of the tile while keeping the integrity of the variegation that is inherit with its natural look. Trust in your self, you have made the correct choice.
I enjoy your videos and look forward to each and every one!
Danke! ❤️
When I watch your videos I become silent, still, and calm. I always feel good after spending a bit of time with you, your garden, and your home. Much love from Tennessee.
hello dear! I'm here in Brazil rooting for you, I want to wish you the best vibes in the universe. Your channel is incredible, it brings a lot of peace and joy. The problems you are facing with the renovation will be small compared to the happy moments you will share in this kitchen with everyone you love. Stay calm and the little angels will whisper something inspiring in your ears to help you solve your problems.
When watching you about your kitchen floor don’t forget some days you can worry about it and actually have a beautiful outlook just think about not using bright white on walls or cabinets use more of natural colors and enjoy it’s when you combine to many bright colors than you’ll be overwhelmed just enjoy the peaceful and relaxing surroundings it’s going to look beautiful
Lovely poem…..thanks for sharing.
Re the orange tiles. I am thinking that all your concerns will be meet once the room is finished. Remember the color blue is complementary to the color orange and thereby I would suggest the use of blue along with shades off off white and cream instead of pure white. Cannot wait to see what you do. LOL. B. Martin, Richmond, Va. USA
Thanks!
I agree 100% - keeping the space shades of cream, warm whites and flax will look beautiful with the orange (ish) tile and blue. Stay soft instead of a cool color palette.
I think you will make your peace with the color of the tiles and your kitchen will turn out to be lovely. Have faith because you are very talented at putting things together to make a beautiful home. ❤
A charming visual poetry from the nature too !!!!! Nice sharing with us!!! Blessed days!!!
The tommettes look wonderful. I love the honeycomb pattern. ‘House of Orange’ very Dutch! A warm cosy colour in the winter and a bright floral tone in summer.
Beautiful…..the floor, the poem, the video….all of it
Any renovation is stressful! We custom built our home and I remember having to pick out every tiny detail. You will get through this! It will be beautiful.
Thanks!
Peach, a soft quiet peach tone, those tomettes. It will be perfect!
Orange is a very bright strong color.
Sweet friend, you lare so beautiful and the videos are something I look forward to every week. Love how hard you and Olaf work, love the sweet birds, the cows in the meadow, the flowers, the sky and the clouds. You are so stressed about the floor but take a deep breath and wait until it is finished. The grout color will help tone down the orangeness and you may be surprised that you will find it looks like sunshine under you feet everyday. Mother Nature puts all sorts of colors out there for us to enjoy and you may really love it after it is finished. Enjoyed the poem as well.
Thank you!
Dear Marloes, I found a picture of an orange tiled floor paired with cabinets of the soft green you like with gold knobs. The walls are a light almond. The counters are a very dark green marble with lighter green veining. I think a warm wood may work, too. There are also a light fixture and tea kettle made of copper. I think it looks lovely and calm. I wish I could share it here with you, but the format won't let me. Thank you for your videos. I love them.
What a perfect poem, thankyou, and look after yourself x
It is normal to feel overwhelmed. Just step back and breath. Love your videos. New Orleans. USA.
Thanks!
Totally understand your dilemma! Don’t spread yourself too thin, take time out and trust your gut (an Australian saying I think). And Olaf is so encouraging to you - he is a gem! 🥰😊
You seem so very kind and warm. Prayers for you as you make decisions about your home. I enjoy your videos so much. Thank you for making them.
Thank You for sharing Marloes this beautiful poem and I love the color of the tiles in your kitchen. I love all the things that you do together also with Olaf👍💝😃
Have heart. It will turn out beautifully. I don't think the people putting the Terra cotta tiles in a few hundred years ago stressed over them. They will be beautiful, and you will love them.
Your sis are spectacular.
Oooo, beautiful poem. Exactly what we need to hear these days.
I have a vision that your floor will be beautiful as it is. Let it be itself: natural and authentic. Don’t tinker with it and please don’t hate it. Now, design your kitchen just as you had planned. It is a country kitchen in an old house and will have its own charm. I know it will seem like a disappointment to you that your kitchen won’t have the perfect look that your mind wants to see, but life happens, and your design choices and your lifestyle will make it wonderful in spite of the final color.
As for your latest videos of cows and laundry, that is why I tune in! Your title is French Country Life and that is what you show. That is what I love seeing. Of course your home projects are more exciting to you, but watching your daily life is like a vacation for the rest of us.
Thanks! I am feeling the exact same way. All intuitive choices are usual better than what the mind can conceive. I am starting to feel so inspired by this floor, it’s crazy combo of feeling confused and inspired at the same time!
@@FrenchCountryLife Good for you. When you are all finished with the kitchen, if you find the “orange” floor is too wrong, put down some country/locally woven/antique rugs in the areas that bother you most. I bet you will make a beautiful space with what you have.
I think you made this video at a low spot for you. You are just tired. Trust your choices and move forward. It’s a great project. Best wishes.
Thank you
There is so much satisfaction in manifesting exactly what you had in mind. And also a great deal of freedom in letting go of that vision and taking pleasure in what is.
Hello Marlowe from New Zealand. You are a very special lady and we love you as you can see from all the comments.Know that we are right behind you .xx
I don't know if the kitchen floor is showing properly but it LOOKS like a soft apricot toned tile and really that is neutral . It like the Mexican tile, it's orangy toned but it's treated as a neutral. When you have clay or ceramic tile, it comes out as it comes out. I don't think everything needs to change. But, that is MY opinion. I really like that tile. It looks "old world" and just go with it and don't worry about it. This renovation WILL have hiccups, BUT it's supposed to be a joy so don't get bogged down. I would LOVE to be doing what you are doing.
Thanks 🙏
Marloes, the poem was just beautiful, thankyou. Your tiles will be in the background once you have completed your kitchen. I am like you and spend ages trying to get things right in my mind. You could always stain the tiles a colour you both like and then seal them…
Whatever you do it will look beautiful. 💐
Thanks for sharing your process and space with us. I definitely feel calmer when watching your artful vids. 💓
I am happy to hear that!
Thank you Marloes for sharing another wonderful video with us. I enjoy your energy no matter what the video topic. The flooring looked beautiful in the last video. I hope it grows on you and the colors add warmth to your home. You have the talent to make it beautiful!
That is one of the most beautiful poems I have heard in a long time. Read so beautifully ❤️. Thank you.
Thank you for the beautiful poem! It comes at a time when we need peace and hope for the future! Silence is what I dream for. We are on stress overload and need to bring it down to a calm state of being!
Your garden is beautiful and your house will be too when completed. I love the music you chose! God bless you! Until next time take care! ❤🙏🌷
Thanks!
Geroerd door het prachtige gedicht. De prachtige natuur maken het compleet. Dank je wel. ❤
I have been following a long time. I love your channel, your videos, your cookbook! Pls do not be so hard on yourself. You and your family are accomplishing so much and creating a lovely life. We will all be happy with whatever you share and always enjoy the peace, contentment and beauty in living. Be kind to yourself.
Thank you for being here!
You may think your videos are boring but I think they are beautiful and inspiring. I luv watching the progress.
Merci
The octagon terracotta tiles take me back to France is such an embracing way -- someday, I'll have to have some of my own, either here or there. Orange-ish, in whatever degree they may be, they cover a multitude of sins...and dirt. They speak of bees and honey and productivity and family. You matched the grout perfectly. It'll work. Truly.
Thanks 🙏
@@FrenchCountryLife Errr...hexagon.
Copper objects will help with the floor.😎
You take me on a wonderful journey with your lovely videos ... even sharing the littlest things with us. What a beautiful place you guys are living in... clean, safe, water, and so very beautiful.
Thank you!
Great video spoken from the heart, i think we can all be super critical of things we do but the floor is gorgeous trust me 😊, the poem is beautiful im thinking of writing it down for my granddaughter who is on the autism spectrum ❤ i always say it isnt" freedom from the storm that we must seek but peace within it " thanks for sharing ❤️🏴x
The tiles look very good to me, at least on camera. I get that you were expecting something else but I agree with your husband---you will make it work. I predict that you will come to appreciate, if not love, them. There are many reasons those tiles are traditional in farm houses.
Thanks
I don’t comment much, as I think what you’re doing is great and this is your journey, I just enjoy watching every week, and getting ideas from the channel.😊
Thank you for being here!
Hi Marloes, lovely poem choice. and video. Your kitchen is going to be wonderful and endearing, I'm sure of it, so don't fret. Whenever you feel stressed or uneasy, just hop right into all those beautiful wild flowers near you & breath in! :)
Dear Maloes, I can imagine how frustrating it is to spend years dreaming about your kitchen project and when it’s done, something doesn’t go as planned. I decided to write to you, because every day at breakfast, I put on a video of you to teleport me to Europe. I'm from Brazil, and my and my husband's dream is to one day live there. Your videos bring us peace and hope, they give us strength to fight every day so that maybe, one day, we can live in a region as bucolic and beautiful as yours. Of course, these words won't erase your frustration with the color of the floor (I would be too), but I wanted you to know that we would give anything to live on your floor, whatever color it is 😆. I send you feelings of love and gratitude for making our days happier and calmer, and for helping us dream of a better future. Kisses from Brazil. 🇧🇷
In the end you will make it amazing! Love your videos!
Been watching your vids for about three years and will continue to, because I enjoy whatever you produce❤
Thank you for being here 🙏
Thank you for this vlog! Your filming is always so beautiful and your vlogs help to make me feel calm and peaceful. The poem was wonderful!
Just go into gratitude. It is all great and very wonderful! 🎉
I love your videos Marloes. Have been watching them for years. Always look forward to a new one. God bless you!
Thanks for being here! 🙏❤️
Another beautiful video Marloes! Someday you might look back and say, what a happy accident it was that the floor tiles were irange! Am sure with all your beautiful brocante finds, your kitchen floor will only add to the warmth of a happy family kitchen. Veel liefs, Mary
Marloes, I would not worry about the tiles at this point; your husband is right. If you have some extra ones available I would experiment with a bit of light walnut stain mixed in with linseed oil and brush that into the tiles to see the colour effect it has on them.
Gorgeous video. The spring fields and garden and laundry hanging on the line is just refreshingly beautiful. Thank you for sharing your intentional life. The floor is going to be beautiful, I am sure.
It was wonderful to hear from you today, and in such an open and vulnerable way! You and your husband are working so hard, and the beauty that you have created is wonderful to behold. Please take all the time you need in between videos. I love the updates, but care about you even more. Having followed you for a while (within the last year), I feel like I know you. Thanks for all that you do, for us and for your family.
Thank you for being here!
Bonjour Marloes, the beautiful panoramic view through your video goes so well with your poem. It was a lovely poem, and it certainly does fit into what is happening in our world today. Thank you for sharing it. I wish I was able to offer you a solution on your floor, I am so DIY inept. I am positive you will render the perfect solution and it will be the right one. Looking forward to seeing the finished floor. Love from N.Y.
Sharing your every day is far more relatable and honest for others to watch than you may know. This is the life for so many women, chasing our tails to get things done, but standing back to look in from the outside there is a quiet honour, dignity and respect for domesticity that is selfless and beautiful.
I personally love your choices and think your farmhouse is gorgeous.
Now take a well-earned break 🙂
Thanks!
It is a happy mistake, full of opportunity. You will make it all so beautiful!
I think that your kitchen will turn out fine. You will be happy with the results. I am sure. Stains and finishings will change things. What I’ve seen so far is lovely.
The floor looks absolutely gorgeous, Marloes! The colours I see are light beige, apricot and a little salmon.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem. I always enjoy your videos. You have a beautiful speaking voice that I find calming. I am sure your kitchen will turn out beautiful mostly because you and Olaf will make it so. ❤
Thank you for the beautiful, peaceful intro (and the music was perfect)! As I grow older, peace & serenity is what I treasure most. It's hard picking colors, etc., and so much depends on the size of the room, etc. Can you speak with the manufacturer & see if there is a darker glaze you could put on it to tone it down some (if that's even possible). Also, maybe decorate with some teal, brown, or olive greens, etc.
Dearest Marloes. ❤ This video beautifully captures the essence of your incredibly peaceful escape from life’s pressures of which I was so honored to recently experience and echos the sentiments we shared about going within to find our way in life.
As others have said, you will figure out what’s best for dealing with the color of the tiles. I think when you seal them it will knock down the brightness a bit. I look forward to seeing it completed and I have no doubt that it will be amazing.
Thank you!
You're doing such wonderful, meaningful, work there. It's all just beautiful and idyllic. The floor will all work out.
Merci
I cannot begin to tell you how much I love watching your videos, they are my favourite, giving me such peace and joy. I look forward to them every week and savior them, choosing to watch them when I know I won’t be interrupted and I make myself a cup of tea 🫖 and just enjoy every minute. Your home is so lovely and I adore your style. I too live on a property but in Australia so there is no snow or really obvious autumn 🍂 days I love your season changes.. I always wish your videos went longer.. please don’t ever stop sharing your life & renovations and your cooking! Lisa ❤️
Thank you for being here!
Another beautiful video. The poem touched my heart too. Thank you.
Yes a floor give you a lot satisfacion if its right. I love it but you must like it. Nature arround your house is beautiful. Good luck!
Such very positive feedback from your community of followers. I was concerned when I watched the last video about your journey to return what you previously selected and a pursuit of something else. Perfection, as noted, can 'only be found in nature'. I like that! My first thought as your shared your concerns -- you can always throw a rug over it. Again, the shading will become more muted over time. Copper decor may also help. What I will share from my experience is that the older you get you will find that you cannot stand (and work) comfortably on a tile floor for very long. Your feet and your legs will tire. You tend to wear slippers around the house and boots. I marvel at that! You won't be wearing either very often or for long periods while standing on concrete. Do yourself a favor and find a new product to ease this issue -- a cushy platform specifically designed for kitchen areas at the stove and sink. They come in a standard size and a variety of designs. I'm sure you can find something suitable on Amazon, Williams and Sonoma, etc. Think positive. I just bought a toilet for a 1st floor bath and it looks like something more suited for elementary school children! But, my choice. Life is short. The vlogs that you share capture so beautifully the grandeur of your environment and the simplicity that you are aiming for in your life. You're to be admired. Do not get overly distracted by issues of the modern-day that can affect your search for peace and solitude.
Your floor is beautiful! Do not let your peace be disturbed!
the quick glance of the floors - they look beautiful - area rugs can help cover if you are not pleased with the color - but what I saw was lovely
Marloes, we enjoy your vlogs a lot. Having lived in France ourselves it's so lovely to be connected with France
Dear Marloes, I enjoyed this video very much. I have been in the same stress state many times designing for clients. I find it is often the things we don't plan on that end up being the unexpected path in the design that leads to things I would not have thought of otherwise (and end up loving.) I've learned to accept and go with the flow and see where it leads me. If the tiles feel too new, I have stained terracotta tiles before sealing to antique/age them a bit. Of course, if you do this, play with samples first until you get the desired result. You could even try a greyish white wash/stain to soften their vibrancy a bit. Thank you for the lovely videos you produce...always inspiring! 💕
You are overwhelmed right now. We've all been there. I understand that the floor is just not what you envisioned. I wonder if you could put some type of stain on it, then seal it? I know in my decorating, I have to keep changing things until it is "right." Until I get it "right," I'm not happy with it. I loved the poem and your voice is so calming. I know you will figure out what to do with the kitchen. Sometimes it is a blessing in disguise and you will come up with something even better.
Dear Marloes, That was a beautiful poem. It had a lot of meaning. On a personal note I like the color of the floor. It goes with the period of the house. hopefully you’ll come to like them Olaf did a beautiful job in installing the floor tiles. You are a beautiful couple with many talents. Until your next video.
Merci
I love the traditional tile flooring you guys chose, because it’s quintessentially French but I also understand your concern about the color too. I hope it will all work out in the end. The poem you shared was beautiful!
Hi wanted to say I love your videos with pastoral scenes, cows, renovations and your trips to brocantes. Also I’m just like you -obsessing about colors and wanting to get the look just right! Keep on being you :)
PS I forgot to mention how lovely the poem was that you read. And the deep message it expresses. There is a lot of wisdom there.
With love from Canada Marloes...🌿 Peace.... says it all.
I had wall to wall broadloom in the same colour as your floor in the living room of my farm house. The walls were white, the furniture was pine and the accent colour was a shade of teal blue. It looked fabulous! You'll make it work I have no doubt!
