I have that Absolute Black chainring on two bikes and it’s superb! It’s especially noticeable on my bike that hauls around my daughter in her Burley trailer. The smoothness of the oval is extremely evident under the extra load
9:32 It makes sense. I wished for oval chainring since i was a kid, I had this idea of such chainring years ago, so this was a no brainer for me. But not tried other chainrings, but the ovality on the AB chainring works well for me. It eliminated my knee pain. I was in agony with round chain ring. Some have bent these, but I've not, as I use a bash guide. Everything you mentioned I experienced. If you already like it so much, I doubt you will be taking it off.
Hope hubs have always been really solid and it’s nice that they have updated their internals and added more engagement. The one thing that I noticed with the Pro4 is when sitting next to an ONYX or Chris King hub , the same sizes Boost 148. The Hope hub shell and flange spacing it’s notably less width. You also notice when doing spoke calculations.
I've got my Izzo set up with Ohlins and it's incredible. Still has perfectly responsive but way more plush in the chunk. Probably the best upgrade I've done.
I definitely felt oval difference Ive used my bikes back to back with exactly the same gearing, but one is oval and one is circular. For me I can tell a difference in long sustained climbs and on slow punch uphills. The dead spots in the stroke are felt in my humble opinion.
I never felt that way but what is great about them is that slipping your tire is reduced with this. I have a better feeling for slipping and prevent it better for the longer stroke.
The previous XXs were also wildly expensive upon release. Give it a bit and the prices will come down; the technology will also trickle down to cheaper models
It's all relative. People are happy to spend thousands on a week's holiday or an expensive watch or expensive shoes .it's expensive but for me I'd rather buy this that a weeks holiday in Spain.
I've got 2 bikes with Sram XX1 but now all the gears need replacing I've realised it was a temporary luxury because I will be replacing it with GX. No point buying a high-end bike if you can't afford to replace the components... also cheaper components are arguably more durable if you get steel chainrings and cassettes.
I can't afford the bike jewelry right now but instead of a sports car or some other waste I'm going to blow a stupid amount on a recumbent when I'm 50 if I'm still riding push bikes.
Really looking forward to a mid/long term review on the TRP EVO12 transmission.

Straight and to the point, always appreciate these, keep them going and much thanks!!
Oh the oval placebo❤
First time watching. Great production! Short and concise.
So excited about the Pro 5’s
Is that a custom YT izzo with Ohlins in the background? New review coming???

$2200 dollar drivetrain. I think the bike industry had gotten way out of hand.
To one each own. Microshift and Shimano Deore are not going anywhere.

@@knott4me561 You can take a three weeks holiday in Spain for $2200. But that drivetrain would be a real pleasure!

Awesome cool video
Bike prices ARE stupid, but if you ride more, it becomes cheaper per hour of operation.

Never buy a version 1.0 anything……. Lol
The oval chainring advice is just misleading and not true. Don't buy one based on the information in this video
Can you expand on this?
Fiiiiiirst!😮
