Oh my God!!! I'm seriously very emotional hearing this. My brother and I never thought this would ever happen. Thank you so much!! You are the man for posting this!!!!
The only thing that shocks me as much as finding this is seeing that I wasn't alone in always wanting it. I can see this song and its instrumental use made an impression on a lot of other people too.
ME TOO.RECORDED SUPERMAN 3 ON VHS VIDEO MANY YEARS AGO AND WAS PLAYING IT TONIGHT (4.5.20).AT THE END I STILLED THE PIC AT THE SONGS AND WROTE THEM DOWN.I MUST SAY THOUGH THE MUSIC PART BEFORE THE OFFICE WAS GOOD TOO AS GUS GOT BELTED WITH CLARKE KENT'S CAR DOOR.
This instrumental brings back so many memories of when i used to watch Superman 3 as a kid and i remember this scene so well. I watched that scene over and over on VHS tape and i actually wore out that section of the tape.
I have been playing this song into my mind every other time since 1983 when I was only 4 years old. Thanks to Spotify I could find the superman 3 soundtrack, and today I find the original movie instrumental version. Thanks a lot! And happy to know I was not the only one!
Thank you for this! It's a crime this was never made commercially available. I'll be honest, THIS was the most memorable thing in Superman III, just the song and not the film itself. Can you make it into a 1 hour loop with no fading? it will be a perfect soundtrack for those long driving trips in the country.
The music for this was actually longer. I have the ABC TV version from the mid 80s on VHS which is an extended/alternate cut of the film. There is more conversation between Brad and Gus specifically about drinks being named after them. Brad's nickname in High School was called 'Smallvile Flash' (which Gus references later on in the scene with, "THE PHILY FLASH"). Brad then passes out and the scene carries on like normal. There is also a lot more of Gus trying to focus on his task while drunk which was cut for time. I can't watch the theatrical release because the TV version is all I ever known.
I've seen that once somewhere, but can't find anywhere to download it. It had extra scenes when the power went out from the giant computer too. I'll keep looking for it to make a longer version of this song.
Awesome thanks for the upload, nostalgia of being 7 years old and watching superman, just for the record I think Christopher Reeve was where they should've left it.
Well, other have said it, and I will say exactly the same (it is youtube comments after all!). Thanks Sooooooooooo much for doing this. Been looking for the instrumental for donkeys years!
I used to wear a cowboy hat when I was really drunk cuz of this movie. Richard pryor is so funny. He must have been really fun to get high with. Wish I had had the luxury. R.I.P. Richard Pryor. I love his movies.
@@Nelwyn Interesting i managaed to edit the original version yesterday in adobe audition its on my youtube with a cat riding on a vacuumcleaner i pasted the first section of the song with the sectin right after he sings and it worked

Nobody would put vodka in a Singapore Sling...it's a gin-based drink. And they have a carton of Tequila Sunrise like it's soy milk or something and not a mixed drink. And why is Richard Pryor wearing an oversize Styrofoam cowboy hat.......oh, never mind....
Loved this country tune when i first saw the movie with school mates at the cinema in 1983!!!!
We need a 10 hour version of this... 😎👍
seconded.
We have that in Texas lol. I’ll share our version
That cowboy hat is iconic!
I’ve wanted one ever since I saw this scene
So lik3 Lloyd's cowboy hat in Dumb and Dumb3r
This song is ingrained in my memory. Absolute legendary.
One month ago marked the 40th anniversary of Superman III (The movie was released on June 17, 1983).
This in a Superman film would be totally unacceptable by todays standards… ironically it’s my favourite part of the film
“Superman III” is one of the best movies of the 20th century.
I agree. Shame like Batman Forever, it gets punished for the sins of the movie that followed it.
This was the most memorable aspect of the film for me. 😂
Both keys at the same time!? Whoa hoa!!!
Oh my God!!! I'm seriously very emotional hearing this. My brother and I never thought this would ever happen. Thank you so much!! You are the man for posting this!!!!
ME TOO!
The synth is playing the pedal steel parts it works.
They call me that Smallville flash lol

@@Nelwyn You're a God among men. This has a ton of sentimental value for strange reasons. Thanks again!

Drink a few Singapore Slings with vodka...
Gus to Brad "You never do pass out do ya?" Brad drinks "Nope!" then passes out and his last words to Gus "Never."
Watching floods back memories of my youth. Being a 7 year old. I miss those days. Thank you so much for posting this treasure.
Found this and like the others on here want to say thanks. Brings back happy childhood memories.

Ty so much this is definatly one of the best tunes to be drunk to
“Singapore sling, it’s SINGAPORE SLING!”
The song that could reunite red America and blue America
I love this it should have been on the soundtrack as an instrumental as well like in the movie. It’s like country meets funk.
Its a fucking masterpiece
Amazing instrumental!
This as got to be the theme in a movie ever
Ah, after years of searching.
I want to create a dance to this

How on earth did you do this without losing quality?
Just much editing magic on Audacity although it did lose the stereo sound so it's just mono now.
