practicing off curb is vital, what helped me was learning to view the curb as just a crack that I needed to kickflip over and not an obstacle to jump off of. Make sure that You look down at your board to set up as you start rolling up, once feet placement is good eye the approaching "crack" and then a couple seconds before youll make it there, look down at your foot positioning and keep your eyes down at the nose of your board. Flick like normal although I'd recommend emphasizing the flick. Think of it as two seperate motions. Ollieing, and then flicking the board . If it helps I always thought about flicking my front foot later than usual, and that would give me the perfect flip and keep[ it below my feet. Have fun. Once youve gotten this timing in your head about the "crack" Itll make your kickflips so much more consistent. I actually find it easier to kickflip off things than on flat.
Skaters deserve so much more respect from the general public in the sports community. It's incomprehensible to them the amount of effort and dedication that is put into this skill. Anyone can kick a ball or catch one and then run. But in skating to do even the most basic thing you are risking your neck, your ankle, your butt and a concussion if you didn't break your arm to avoid it. All this happens starting at day 1 hour 0. I don't care how bad you are, if you just roll on a board you already have my utmost respect-
Every time i try a Kickflip on a 3 stair or bigger I just catch it with my back foot and it’s so hard to just commit to both feet, such a mental battle
Yes, please cover more stairs and gaps skating! It's something I've struggled with all 13 years of skating but I'm trying to really buckle down and get great at it.
Love this channel... straight to the point, tons of value out of it. Well done man for another great job! I’ve been watching your kickflip tutorial over and over again and it has help me immensely. 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Just like what K said, you have to learn to pop early, it takes more time for the back of the board to float up and go over an obstacle. Try with fakie ollies and up a curb- You'll see how the board goes up later on the back so you need to pop a second early
cool video, i can kickflip off a curb but havent tried down a set. I did notice that the extra airtime makes it easier to flip down curbs, as was mentioned in the video. definitely make more videos with more tutorials down stairs
This is what I’m struggling with right now. I hit a handrail in my first year but doing an Ollie or a kickflip down it is way more scary. I actually need to know how to do it. This didn’t really say how. I always land in front of the board if I kickflip off curbs and shit and I’m not tryna do that if I’m going down stairs. Could break my ankle like my friend just did yesterday. I can kickflip up curbs but not down them lol
Thank you so much I Really appreciate this video whilst I ate my dippy eggsc, keep it up all love one love, hi I hope you can all be well and if not I hope you all get better xxx
Whenever I go to kickflip off a ledge I pop and Flick and jump obliviously but when I go to catch it of a decently sized ledge it cancels out the kickflip rotation like a lot of the time I’ll do a kickflip late heelflip motion and I can catch them on flat but when it comes to a ledge I just can’t seem to catch it
I can do kickflip almost every try and i can catch them on flat and off curbs and little gabs really well. When flipping off stairs it is really hard to overcome the fear of landing, and it takes really much time to build confidence of landing. I know i would do 3 stairs kickflip but it just so scary to land. Sorry for bad language and any tips?
Should you look at the stairs/gap or look at your board? When I look at my board I can't get the timing for the pop. When I look at the stairs i cant see my board so it throws off my timing/confidence. Any tips? Thanks
Yeah there was a lot of things he didn’t cover in this video like when to pop before you go down the stairs but I guess it’s better to just go out there and try it for your self videos can only do so much it’s more of trial and error
Hi :) When do you change your view from the edge to the board? In the flat I am keeping my eyes on the board all the time, but when I jump down somewhere with a kickflip, i still look at the edge while popping and this makes everything feel completely different. It's very difficult for me. I start the kickflip from my muscle memory and without looking at the board. Only when I have already pulled my foot out in front of the nose i start looking at the board. Is that correct or should I look at the board while popping?
Don’t ever worry about where to look, it’s distracting and makes it hard to concentrate on the trick and timing. Do what feels right to you. Practice kickflipping curbs until you feel comfortable with your timing and execution of it all, before moving to bigger obstacles. Your muscle memory only improves with each attempt. You’ll probably be looking less at the board once you get comfortable. But no need to consciously fixate on that.
Dude you should tighten up your script and edit a bit. It needs a bit more structure, some pauses to help us digest what was just said otherwise it's hard to take in, especially with the slightly wordy script as it currently stands!
How do you to tricks down 7+ stairsets, I'm a beginner and I don't get much air time off stairsets, idk how to prolong my ollies and flick them in front of me so I haven't done anything over a 5 stair, how do you get more airtime with different tricks for bigger stairsets, pls do a video on this🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
It just gets better with time, just take it step by step, once you feel like you can ollie a 6 stair do it, then go ollie a 7 stair if you feel that your are capable of it ect...
Whenever I try to Tre flip no matter what I can never get the flick. If you have ig can I get it and send you a clip of my trying so you can hopefully help. I’ve looked at all the videos and all my friends but I can’t get the flick
Can someone please help me out every time I try to kickflip off something I alway land forward with my heel making it turn sideways and I can’t seem to stop I’ll show an example on my insta is someone can help and dm me how to stop it @fucklui_

He is popping very late his two front wheels are pretty much over the top

Everytime I watch your videos I realize how much what you do with your arms matters
Yup broke my left arm 2 times
Dude. So clean looking. Thanks for the tip. Definitely all mental. Just gotta trust that you know how to kickflip already and then Send it. Haha.
Please make more videos covering doing tricks over gaps and down stairs please would be much appreciated
