Great video! Thank you. I am currently using a Google Voice number for my alarm system to call central station (in case of fire or break in). It is unreliable. The communication via Google Voice does not reliably go through. Do you know if the Grandstream HT818 would work well with my alarm sysm using , for example, Anveo as our SIP. Are there specific settings need to make it work well? Thanks.
Here is a link to my video that shows settings to tweak in the grand stream for fire alarm panels: ruclips.net/video/V1CzbtEeYYY/видео.htmlsi=amTin2cZVVaGNd7v However, depending on the alarm company, it is never 100% I have found through the years, but it could be more reliable with the settings changes in this video.
Hi thanks so much for your video; its very helpful and useful I need your help ... I bought this device and I have bought a 5 channel sip trunk with 2 DIDs and I configure it exactly like you did in the video but the problem all outgoing calls is using the first DID I need to use the 2nd DID ; How can I do this? Regards
Sorry just saw this...The outbound trunk that you choose is usually programmed in the PBX. IE if you dial 9 for outbound trunk you shoulsd be able to program which trunk is selected for your dial 9 selection. Are you using a PBX?
Unfortunately Yes: Using the Reset ButtonTo reset default factory settings using the reset button please follow the steps above:1. Unplug the Ethernet cable.2. Locate the reset hole on the back panel of your HT818.3. Insert a pin in this hole, and press for about 7 seconds.4. Take out the pin. All unit settings are restored to factory settings!!!
excellent video. I ask you, the alarm does not work, it makes the call and connects but it does not transmit, do you know any option that I have to put
Yes they do. You would set the main sip trunk CID on the carrier side and the Grandstream can display the main number on all 8 ports for outbound calls. You can use 1 sip trunk for all 8 ports.
Thank you Kristina, Yes it is, I haven’t tried remote access with 802 model but here is a forum conversation about remote access to HT802: forums.grandstream.com/t/ht802-and-remote-access/50672
CALL FORWARD Unconditional Forward: All incoming calls will be forwarded. 1) Off-hook your phone. 2) After hearing the dial tone, input “*72”+ forwarding number and follow by “#” or wait for time out. 3) Wait for dial tone and hang up. 4) Dial “*73” to cancel Unconditional Forward.
Hello, Thank You for taking the time and explaining every step. I would like to know how can I assign a number to each port. I have a sip account with 8 DID and I would like to assign different numbers to different ports. Thanks in advance.
In my Coredial portal I create the sip trunks and then assign each DID to a specific sip trunk. It’s all done in your sip provider portal. The grandstream gateway just registers to each sip trunk and gives dial tone. What sip provider are you using?
@@jayhudginstutorials2024 I got it. I am using Telnyx. So basically I need to create 8 different sip trunks and assign number to them. And setup same sip trunk on each port of grandstream. I thought this model only supports 2 sip trunk.
@@jayhudginstutorials2024 basically what I am trying to do here is I have a old mitel pbx with 8 pots line connected to it. I want to convert it to sip connection. So looking for something that converts sip to analog and provides deferent number on each port so I can just unplug old analog lines and connect to new grandstream on same numbers so that way I don’t need to program mitel pbx.
@@pratiktailor7938 yes you would need to configure 8 different sip trunks on 8 different fxs ports and direct your telephone lines to those sip trunks in your telnyx portal. You can then plug your PBX cos into the gateway fxs ports in whatever order you want.
US Tech is very busy in giving companies Pots Replacement lines and the Grandstream option is the most affordable! Go to ustech.com for a free demo!
Thanks. Got a HT812 today and by following 80% of your guide, I got it up and going off the bat. Cheers.
Glad it worked for you! It’s a great piece of hardware. Thank you for the comment!

If you forget the password and hit the reset button, does that reset the entire settings in the Grandstream?

thanks great video. did you have any issues call forwarding a sip trunk using the *72 feature code? grand stream feature using coredail services
Actually I’ve never tried to call Forward a sip trunk by using *72? That is usually a Verizon feature but I’ll have to try and see. Thanks.

Hey Jay, Awesome info. I would like to know how to configure trunk without U/P just IP based trunk.
Sorry , just saw this😩what do you mean U/P?

K Lad I believe you can register with the phone number as well instead of username and password.
Excellent work. Thank you
thx - that video really helped!
