Another.../Great Job!
Cute
I had a request for a complete list of all the materials I used to make these two finials. So here it is:
2 round glass vases
1 crackled glass candle holder
2 large plastic ornaments
(1) 2 pack of small plastic ornaments
2 container lids for base
2 larger container lids for base
(1) 2 pack of tea light candle holders
1 metal wide mouth canning ring
1 glass candlestick
2 wood finials
Krylon Looking glass spray paint
Krylon metallic gold spray paint
Vinegar/water in spray bottle
Tacky glue or Mod Podge
Extra Fine glitter (silver champagne) Hobby Lobby
Paint brush
Fix-all glue or E6000
Hot glue gun
❤️❤️❤️❤️
WOW!!
Use hairspray on the glitter to hold it in place and that way it won't flake off
a good hacksaw is 30...if I can make this without a saw then it's good cause I'm not buying one for this project..my favorite part is the way the paint changes with the vinegar and water. I had no idea.
😍
These came out so beautiful but what size top did u use under the crackle candle holder u didn't mention that I will have to make these tfs 🤗🖒🖒
Thanks Yvonne. I just used a jar lid that I had around the house that fit. It was about 3 1/2" in diameter.
You don't wash and remove the sku sticker before you start?
What are the things called on top that Are Wooden? They are like bed posts kind of. I’ll check Lowe’s out later. I love these too. I just sprayed a bunch of glass for mercury glass. Now another DIY to be finished by Christmas. Thanks. Janice
I bought the wooden finials at Hobby Lobby. I'm sure they would have something similar at Lowe's or Home Depot too. Yeah, I have several projects that I'm working on that I have to get done by Christmas too.
I never made this and still want to...do you still have your finials??? have they been sturdy?? much love
I actually gave them away but they were quite sturdy.
Where did you buy the wood finial top ?
I got mine at Hobby Lobby.
Is there a reason you did glitter and not spray paint? I really love these and want to recreate but I'm not a glitter fan, so I was wondering if I could just spray paint them?
Traci, I was just trying to recreate the mercury glass look. You could paint them any way you would like.
@@LovinLifesJourney I want to fo the mercury look too! That's why I was wondering if the sections you glittered can or can't be painted like the mercury look? Like if you chose glitter for a particular reason?
Oh sorry, I misunderstood. I did the glitter because some of the pieces, like the lids I used for the base, are plastic and so they are not going to look like glass. Maybe you could try painting them with the looking Glass spray paint.
Curious why you wouldn't take the tags off first?
Denise, I was having a hard time getting them off and then realized that they were not going to show at all in the final project so I decided to not waste time trying to get them off. I certainly would have taken them off if they were going to show. Thanks for watching and have a Merry Christmas!
@@LovinLifesJourney Aw, makes sense. I had no idea you could make this type of mercury glass! Thank you for sharing how to do it. Have a wonderful holiday season!
Beautiful project (except or the sticker) lol
Please PULL OFF the stickers!!!!!! I have a major problem with that !!!!
I'm sorry that bothers you Rebecca. I didn't take them off because they were stubborn and they don't show on the finished project anyway.
Wow! Chill out...its her project.
