This is such a great idea. I love mercury glass, it looks so festive especially during the Holiday's. I like the colored paint too. It would be fun for a summer themed party. Did you just use one coat of the colored paint? Thanks for doing this one.

I want to try this but do a solid mirror without doing the water splotches for garden balls. they will be glued to a base so no moisture will get in. what do you think ?

you just showed me what I was thinking with adding the other color with it. but can I use the gold paint? My wedding colors are gold, blush and Navy. Im doing the tables navy so putting that blush with the gold for the centerpiece vases will look perfect.

Hi, thanks for this awesome DIY. Day before yesterday I came across Mercury glass bottle in an expensive décor showroom & I loved it. The price was way tooo muchhhh.
BTW can a regular paint be used ?? We don't get such paints in country easily.

I would just tape the top rim only you can always use your water/vinegar solution to wipe off over spray that way you can see the desired effect easily without having to tape and retape
