I think in general decor I prefer the crispness of a two-color chevron without the texture but agree that the contrast is a lot when using as a background for videos. Flesh tones are always difficult to light well against high-contrast tones. I would have liked the white chevron on a very soft gray (which is sort of the tone you got after the whitewash). I also agree that the striae texture (almost faux bois-esque) is much better than the round. This will be a nice change from the black curtain! I'm looking forward to some beautiful and elegant DIYs this year!
I am so happy to see you guys..I was afraid your DIY's were for Christmas only..I love the wall...good tips so it doesn't bleed..It is so hard for me to not have neat lines..I just usually give up..lol Love the way Greyson toned the wall down..Hope to see many more of your DIY's..xoxox Loretta
I LOVED the trick about how to prevent paint to get under the tape. I had stripes in my room when I was younger and the paint got under the tape. Now I know how to help solve this problem.
I liked it better without the vertical striping because it seems very busy an not balanced right now. Maybe if you did the white lines with grey striping to match the grey with the white striping that it looks better, but it looks more like a mix between chevron and an ikat pattern? :)
My husband and I did this pattern on our son's nursery and what we did was put the grid on the wall using the tape and then put up the chevron design. It made it a little easier for the chevron design because the measuring was done at that point. Just had to go corner to corner.
I know this video is old but i have to say, i first thought the vertical lines were from a wallpaper! Lols. Love the effect. Did you use the same sponge to create that effect?
Why didn't you actually show how you did the vertical stripes. Don't assume because it seems simple, it is. Half the DIY is missing when you didn't show the vertical technique. Still love the channel though:)
Very nice !!!- I will do this at the back of my bed - where a huge niche still cries for decoration. Which kind of "blue" tape will this be in germany ?
Beautiful idea and expertly carried out,I unfortunately will be delegating this idea for the front hall of our offices here in Mayfair London to someone with talent which is not me.Sigh!
thanks for the tutorial, but how do you decide how many peaks to have on your wall? You mentioned deciding the width of your wall by 3, but what if I have a much wider wall to paint?
Nice job guys. I personally preferred the painting without the vertical texture added, the contrast in colors gave a wow effect. However, this is also beautiful.
I did this to my wall and it looks amazing. Now I have to move out of my apartment. Any suggestion on how to remove it? I have a feeling I can't just paint over it.
I love the final look. The white streaks over the grey paint looked very sliver. NICE! Who knew.
the one with the vertical lines looked better indeed! love this!!

With!!!! I am getting addicted to these videos!!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Definitely with the sponged stripe touch - such a small thing can change so much. Guess that's part of what can make a good designer into a gray one

Not saying you didn't do a good job, just not 'my' style. )

So when you divided the width of the room by 3 The number you get is for the height of the stripes ?
