This is the best tutorial on faux mercury glass! Others have uploaded tutorials since you published this, but none are as thorough. Thank you!

SIMPLY STUNNING!! I am going to try to do this technique on the glass center of a lovely side table I picked up for $5.00 this morning at the Mission Thrift Shop. It was in rough shape but after a thorough cleaning, light sanding, and some watered down chalk paint it will breathe new or vintage life back into it. The legs are so curvy and pretty I will use Antique wax on the table and hide all the nasty scratches with the Mercury glass effect. Thanks so much for the well thought out video I now know what I need to do to achieve the look I want so You are awesome and amazing!! Blessings, Michelle

Can you use antique gold metallic paint or does it have to be the mirrored paint?

Can this be done on the outside of the project ? I have an antique book shelf and I would like to do this to the back of the shelf.

How do you seal the spray? I've tried this and as soon as u add water for a floral arrangement the paint washes off.
    Thank in advance!

Hi! A few things come to mind in solving your problem with the paint washing off. Make sure your paint dries at least 24 hours (or more!) before adding any water. Use a protective sealant spray to protect the glass finish such as a clear polyurethane spray or a flat black spray paint, such as the one I use in this tutorial. You could also place a smaller vase (or even plastic cup) inside the vase and put the water in that for your flowers if you don't want to bother with adding a protective finish. Hope this helps! Happy crafting!
