How to make your own designer glass pieces using the Mercury Glass technique.

You'll need:
• Glass pieces ( I used a large bowl and 2 glass candle stick holders for each candle holder and 2 glass vase for the center vase)
• E600 glue or Gorilla epoxy glue.
• Krylon Looking Glass Spray paint
• A spray bottle with equal parts vinegar and water
• Something to blot with ( I used a duster or you could use paper towel)
Yours is absolutely the most thorough and professional job of making faux mercury glass. Well done!
I made my fiancé an apocathery jar (from dollar tree of course) and he is completely in love with it. Went to Hobby Lobby and saw the mercury pieces. He liked the look and I didn't even know what it was called. Got back to work and went to youtube and you and this video was here. I didn't even have to look!!

That would be great thanks. We do have pound shops but they don't have many of the things u have. I would love the candle holders that everyone uses so much. I've seen them for £3 which is quite expensive if u are going to use 4-5 for a project. Anyhow thanks for replying. U are very inspiring love ur ideas.

Hi Tony i love this project, but i wonder if I can use a transparent spray paint to isolate the mercury paint effect. Thank you very much for sharing.
You are the best. I Looked at some other DIT's but they were terrible. One sprayed the glass piece and then sprayed with the Krylon. Another sprayed the outside and let it completely dry, then sprayed withe the vinegar. She was supposedly teaching others. This was her first time and she was not happy with the outcome. Imagine! I wanted to send them to you to learn how it was done. Another sprayed the outside. She opined that the color rubbed off. All of the ones I looked into rubbed, not dabbed.Another said thee Krylon looking glass spray also came in gold also. Would the process be the same?
