WOW how absolutely wonderful. Thank you for your brilliant enthusiasm and kindness, I'm touched and very appreciative of your support. Thank you Allison and I just love what you're up to.... Love Helen xx
Thankyou Helen. You are such a huge inspiration and I just adore your work and videos and style. Your newsletters and videos get me back on track when I'm feeling stuck or in a rut... with gratitude, Love Allison xx
So glad to see you again ✨ I found the link to Helen Wells concertina style art journal below. I'll be checking this out 🫶 thank you for your inspiration always! Take care ✨
Yes- that is another style of art journaling that she taught in class format. (excellent class) I'd later found out by a comment from a viewer that the sketchbook style I was referring to and showed is called "zine". I guess there are many free tutorials online that also teach this handmade sketchbook style.
@@allisondawrant oh gotcha ! I've been exploring different small handmade books. Oh yes I was introduced to zines a few years ago. They are fun to make and a little easier to fold than the concertina I'm finding out lol.
So good to see you back with a video Allison. I love your work. And I especially love your Art Poetry Cards. They are a constant inspiration to me. Claire😍
So good to see you back 😊Thanks for sharing all those things you have at heart or your discoveries. The journal Helen Wells shared is a form of « zine ». There are loads of tutorials about them. They are different ways to make them. The best for the end : I love sooo much your poetry deck. It is beautiful and I add the gold to the moons when I pick up a card with it. But since I have received the cards… I kind of keep picking up the same cards 😀 Merci 🙏
Thanks for this sweet note! Interesting out of 71 cards, you pick up the same ones regularly? thanks for sharing and that's cool you embellished the moons on your cards too.
Your videos always brings me peace ❤ I love all that you share , even your Christmas socks :) I’m glad you don’t edit , it made me smile :) your work is always beautiful and I loved the finished artwork inspired by the Celine doc , it was so heartfelt . Also, thanks for sharing info on other artists work / deck . Cathy Nichols’s deck looks so beautiful. Happy to see you back :) enjoy the balance of family life and art time ❤ Balance is key ❤
Hi Allison...I'm new to your channel and really like your content. I think the fact that you don't edit your videos makes them very relatable and I appreciate that. Thank you!!
I love your videos. I always get so inspired. Thank you for that. 🥰 My husband told me I should do the same and not edit my videos. Now I've been looking for some time for the best program to edit them. And I don't want to copy someone you know by not editing. And for now I recorded all my videos without sound so that may be strange to post a full length video with only music. Sorry rambling to much again. 🤣
Yes, I agree with your husband! Editing is just not worth the time, and after a while you get into the swing of it, and it will come naturally. Thanks for your encouragement, and hope you try one out sometime.
So so glad you are back you have been missed by many! I hope you got my package ok and Thankyou so much for gifting me a deck I use it every day and it has inspired my art so much. Xxx
Love all the inspiration you have shared in this video. 💗 And I appreciate when you explain your technique and how you are using your brush - it is very helpful to me. I love the way you used your reticulated technique for the hair of your newest lady. And the collage pieces on her. She is stunning! (And she does bring Drew Barrymore to mind!). Congratulations on the success of your Art Poetry deck! Not surprising to me at all and I thoroughly enjoy the inspiration it brings me. 😊Enjoy our short summer and family time and I look forward to more videos when you are able to post them. 💗
You often say, "normally I work faster," well I'd be interested in seeing that. Perhaps in a video you could include just making a painting or two, without pausing or stopping to talk to us. I think that would be very fascinating.
Thank you Allison really lovely video. Love the framed photo with all the background texture that looks like branches. Do you have a video where you did this painting or technique? E
QUESTION: When using collage over top of watercolor, what can I stick it down with that won't smear my watercolors? Do you apply it top and underneath the collage paper?
Hi Libby! Nice to see your name pop up on my comments here. Yes, I am taking a little summer break with my young family, but can't wait to do another video very soon.

Thank you Allison really lovely video. Love the framed photo with all the background texture that looks like branches. Do you have a video where you did this painting or technique?
E
thanks so much Angela! I am holding onto this technique for a while as something small to keep in my backpocket... maybe one day I'll share...
Hi. If you collage over watercolor, what medium or glue do you use so the watercolor doesn't smear?
Sometimes I use Spectrafix, as a fixative.
QUESTION: When using collage over top of watercolor, what can I stick it down with that won't smear my watercolors? Do you apply it top and underneath the collage paper?
you can seal the watercolour collage paper first with Dorland's cold wax medium . (and then use the adhesive just on the underside).
Are you still making YT videos?
