Thank you for this!!!!! I have been looking for a trip report on the Allegiant Max because I wanted to see what was different. Thanks for the video!!❤❤❤❤
I had no idea allegiant started service with these so seeing this video in my recommended was a surprise. Nice to see that they put actual tray tables onboard. Gonna be flying some Allegiant flights at the end of this month but they're all A319s.
Excellent trip report Emil! I was pleasantly surprised by Allegiant last summer and I’ve got to say, the restaurant to the left of security at SFB is quite good!
Great review and vid. I love flying Allegiant. I will be onboard again soon traveling back to SYR from PIE on their A319. We've purchased exit row and first row seating this time around. Looking forward to it. I'm ready to travel over to Orlando in order to try out Brightline as well. I cannot wait until they are here in the Tampa area!
I'm flying on Allegiant for the first time later this month, and supposedly one of my flights is supposed to be on the new MAX-8-200. Definitely looking forward to it overall, but at 6'2" I'm not excited about enduring the tight legroom for almost 3 hours!
Could be worse, I had the misfortune of sitting in row 31 on a VOI A320neo. Took me all of 2 seconds to nope and go back to my seat at the front (despite being a standard seat it had a bit more legroom)
Great for passengers, inconvenient for crew. Small aisles and lack of space for crew to sit or stand. But overall beautiful 737. Avoid aisle seats as you’ll be bump on the shoulders when people walk through. Cabin crew or not. Happy flying!
Flew them on old MD 80/82 before carry on fees and besides being loud it was great. They are always the highest priced ULCC now but still usually better than Frontier or Spirit. I avoid Sanford forvthe food and location alone. And since it lost its priority pass lounge
Only sad thing about Allegiant is that they don't offer no Connection Flight so it's Point A to Point B... and then chance it by buying another ticket from Point B to Point C (if they serve the point C city that you want to go to)
@@athleticguy15 They have Hubs they just don't offer no Connection flights, say you want to go from Stockton to San diego you have to buy 2 ticket, Stockton to Vegas (hub) then Vegas to Diego.. but thats taking a chance to get there on time unless you have a 5-10 hour before your 2nd flight cause they are notorious for delays,
I don't really understand Allegiant's selection of the MAX200. I mean, you can put 189 seats in any -800/MAX8, and the 200 was intended for (wait for it...) 200 seats. So they added the complexity and weight of the extra door pair, for.......... ONE additional seat. Granted, they can do the extra legroom upcharges up front, but if they really have that much need/demand for ancillary revenue, why not just get a MAX9 and truly go hog wild???
Here’s my theory, Boeing was in a desperate position to get some good PR out of the MAX, while also being desperate to promote the 8200. So they probably offered allegiant an even bigger discount to take the 8200 over the 8.
Good report. The legroom is dangerously tight. I know Allegiant is an LCC; however, Congress should legislate that all air carriers have a minimum of 33" seat pitch between each row. That's the only way airlines will respect the flying public.
@@sweetdaddydee1314 Not to mention, the Max jets have been flying billions of miles all over the world during the last five + years, with not a single incident.
@athleticguy15 ok, i wouldn't say not a single incident. That Alaskan max 9 had one of its doors blown off several months ago. But besides the normal(ish) engine issues and any other issue, it's been fine.

I don’t like it. The legroom is so horrible! It’s very bad. They should have more space for everyone, not just 28” inches of legroom. I refuses to fly on an ULCC. I have to stay away from ULCC. I don’t like charge a seat, carryon, personal items, and checked bags. They should be free! People had it right. They want to be free. Not paying for carryons, personal items, seats, checked bags and food and beverages. I’ll never fly on the ULCC.
the MAX is such a lazy design. It looks no different than an NG on the inside. On the outside outside for the wingtips and tailcone if you have an eye for it there is basically no difference. Im an American and I cant deny Airbus is destroying them in terms of innovation.
@@taxiway207 You actually cant. The A320neo looks nothing like A320ceos on the inside. Trying to be Cost effective is what got Boeing into the mess its in now.
@@athleticguy15 yes. I work on them. It’s very obvious which one is a bit more modern. It’s near impossible to tell the difference between the cabin of a 737NG produced 20 years ago compared to Boeings “newest” offering, the MAX. From the PSUs, lavs, overhead bins, overall cabin ambience. To me it’s clear what manufacturer just copies and pastes compared to which one is still trying to innovate/improve the passenger AND crew experience.

I’m surprised Allegiant didn’t do a celebration with their new aircraft. There was no announcement on their socials or anything which surprising.

I’m flying Allegiant in week, I wonder if I’ll be on a 737 Max instead of the old A320
Not too many in service yet, but you might luck out.
I think you’re the first on RUclips to Review this aircraft
Not really. There are some reviews older than this. About 6 days to 1 week old.

What happened to that light aircraft going so fast on a taxiway during the start-up sequence ?
I flew Alligiant Sanford PIT Sanford on an A320. Correct great buy on board menu but the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat on.
Breeze has inseat power, I think they're considered ULCC. side note I'm worried about spirit.
standar low cost 737s have 189 seats, so all of designing a new variant of the plane just to add 1 more seat (190)? I don’t get it 👀

No seatback screens on a max 8?? Should be normal by now

Whether or not there are seatback screens on the Max 8 is totally up to the airline. Obviously, one wouldn't expect them on an ULCC.
