That's amazing! I thought my ears were going to fall off. From the simplest to the most complex the rhythms go straight to the bone narrow, to the heart and just start moving you. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent! I'm a Scottish guy who attends a Christian fellowship meeting with Ghanaian people who work and study all over Scotland and UK. And with that I mind, and my passion for playing upright bass, 6 string bass guitar, and various forms of African and Afro-Latino hand percussion, a feeling a deep connection within myself for the beautiful organi flows of polyrhythms and harmonies at the meetings, I had to have a RUclips search to find examples of the rootsy rustic folk grooves behind what I hear. And YOH! That is such gooooood funky rockin rhythm n blues shuffling and a stomping goin on there!
Your fellowship should stay out of Ghana and let the people maintain their indigenous beliefs--whatever's left of them. Christianity belongs in Europe; it doesn't need to poison the rest of the world and eliminate its myths. 😒
To my Ghanaian brothas and sistahs, I am one of the blessed to have studies under the late great Ghanaian priests Dr. William Komla Amoaku while attending Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Dr. Amoaku, a man of great musical talent, wisdom and heart. The Welcome you give here is felt deeply and remembered in Dr. Amoaku's teachings and leadership while he was Music Department Chairman. He brough to us Sankofa and inspired us to never forget our past. Thank you for your welcoming.
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you. Honored and blessed to be going to visit and to experience this amazing music and these beautiful people first hand in August 2024. See and hear you soon!!!

I love this so much! But why was it mostly men?
Glad you love it! Traditionally, women in Africa don't tend to play the djembe 🪘
@@africandrumming Do they sing or dance?
Women can play too but they don't like playing.
@@cheendo7400 Interesting. Do they ever traditionally like to participate in some other way, such as singing or dancing?
@@Marnie-hates-winter Ghanaian women do whatever they want to do if they want to do it, Nobody restricts them, mostly they run things from behind.
